100 House Democrats turned on Hakeem Jeffries and voted for the Massie-Khanna amendment that would prevent $3.3B of aid from going to Israel. Unfortunately, the amendment did not pass. Over 90 Democrats voted against it along with every Republican (except Massie, obviously) BUT 100 democrats voting against aid to Israel would've NEVER happened last year. MAJOR party shift!
Over in the Senate, democrats blocked debate on the NDAA defense bill out of disapproval of the war in Iran AND to prevent integration of the US military and the IDF
The Senate votes 50-46 to block debate on the annual defence bill over war funding and defence cooperation with Israel.
Why these things matter: democrats will very likely at least take a slim majority in the House in November. It's promising that they've already started to shift on Israel. Maybe when they finally have power, we really can force a weapons embargo and zero monetary aid ๐ค๐พ
