Sharing the first part of the Moash - Adolin bickering comic!
In a perfect world moash killing people like leyten would serve to show how emotionally impactful every singer killed by someone in bridge four was to the singer who loved them. instead of "wow look at that guy who is uniquely evil, unlike our good and pure main characters"
The real reason Hoid killed Adonalsium was bc he refused to pay child support for the twins.

The fact that people are still so upset and betrayed about elhokar’s death as if he wasn’t the most eminently murderable character in SA from his very first appearance….. bruh I still remember the first time I read WoK in December 2020 and the second he waltzed onto the page I texted my friend who’d read all of the books like ‘this king’s a dumbass and I think he’s going to die.’ Honestly the only surprise was how long it took
this is actually a good point that hasn’t been hashed and rehashed to hell in this discourse. from a meta perspective, there’s really no other way elhokar’s arc could have gone. like yea the themes of redemption, but the specific way he wronged named pov characters makes any potential redemption arc too nuanced for brandon sanderson to handle. unfortunately this is also true of moash, so live by the sword die by the sword or whatever.
hey this was so funny. for a moment i was so distracted by thinking about how killable elhokar was that i lived in a world where people didn’t violently hate moash. genuinely did not realize that this person meant moash at the time LOL
we didnt learn any new facts about any character's pussy this week #failure #sandersoncritical
crazy how wat had time for a chapter of kaladin and syl talking about her pussy and giving the corniest anti-bullying psa ever. you know, when they clearly had to cut so much moash content for space. it’s cool that they left that super important chapter in #sylspussy

“An Audience with the queen of Urithiru during its occupation” once again based of Persian illuminated manuscripts from the 1400’s, bonus points if you can name what actual piece I based this off of!

can everyone like just step back for a second from the fan culture of vehemently and vitriolically hating moash to THINK about why he’s SO much more hated than any other character in the series? or even the entire cosmere! most hated man in the universe! and why? why him specifically? like he did bad things, yes, absolutely, but so did a lot of people. why is he SO much more hated than every other character that has done bad things? think like for a SECOND about it please. it is fine to not like moash, i totally get it, that’s fine. but think about why you hate him and not others who also deserve it. the amount that people just say “fuck moash” so casually all the time is like. you know he’s lifelong victim of racism who was reacting to the racially motivated murder of his grandparents, right? like did you forget that? he gets so much more hate proportionally than any other “villain” like just think about why and why you’re engaging with his character with so much malice please
was elhokar a good boi? would we really call him a good boi? i see it all the time “elhokar was such a good boi 😭” but like was he really? was he? much to think about
"He ran off giggling like a child, he did."
i don’t actually care if moash is done well in the tv show because good or bad it’ll give me material for my kalmoash edits to heathers songs

Something I wanted to put out there regarding the state of Stormlight fanfic these days is that we are currently in an unprecendented slump of readership. I was just taking a look at some fanfics that were written back in 2021-2023 and remembering how being in the fandom at that point was such a joy in part because so many people were reading, kudosing, and commenting on fics. History-wise, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the fanficcing part of the fandom didn't really get going until after Words of Radiance was published back in 2014. That was a small but dedicated group of writers, many of whom got to know each other through each others' fics. Kalarin was a popular ship at that time!
The next big jump in fic fandom was after Oathbringer, in 2017. It dipped again in the years after that, but then Rhythm of War came out.
2020 (post-RoW) was when I joined the fandom, and in my opinion 2021-2023 was the biggest bump yet in the fanfic corner of the fandom. There was tons of discourse, lots of opinions, and fix-it discussions, which of course made for lots of fic, readers, and more encouragement of fic authors.
My friends and I started seeing a decrease in kudos emails in 2023-2024. But that was okay, because WaT would be the next big thing, and boost the fandom again, possibly to new heights, right? That's what we were all thinking in 2024...
Also. Insane to make a whole thing of how the Greeks violated “Zeus’s law” towards the Trojans with the horse trick, but never mention Paris by name. Y’know. The guy who kicked off the war by violating xenia first?
He kidnapped his wife’s host. He violated the sanctity of marriage. Menelaus and Helen welcomed Paris as they would any Greek guest, and in return this foreigner bedded (raped) and stole the warlord King of Sparta’s wife.
This isn’t to say what the Greeks did to the Trojans was justified — on the contrary, both sides of the war, in life and in death, in the Iliad and Odyssey and extended body of spin-off works, lament that there was so much death and destruction on behalf of one woman.
But the war very much wasn’t just about Helen — it was about her kidnapping, and what it represented.
How could the Greeks let such a violation of xenia, such a barbaric act that spurned their most valued customs, go unpunished? They couldn’t. That was why the Trojan War happened. And you can’t ignore that, especially not in a retelling of the Odyssey, which is all about xenia and hubris and what happens when men do things they should not.
How lovely it would be if Christopher Nolan’s take cared about or respected any of those themes.
