he literally kills elhokar in the middle of a battle in which they are enemy combatants so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the teft one is slightly more arguable, but still counts, but the elhokar one is indisputable, and kaladin didn’t kill roshone bc they were 1) not fighting 2) in his house 3) on the same side, what like he didn’t even have the chance to kill him that he passed over, it was just a wholly different situation, i think you probably meant to mention him fighting amaram at the end, but the only reason he didn’t kill him is because he got his ass handed to him. sucks to suck, moash is built different.

yes and no.

i think if you’re retelling wok/wor, something that was really weak and could easily be done differently is showing moash and kaladin’s close bond and friendship on screen to make the confrontation later more emotionally impactful. and this is one area that i think really set the stage for “fuck moash” sentiment, because when the audience doesn’t care about the character leading into the split, they’re more willing to say “hey fuck that random guy” right? tv as a medium also easier to do this because its visual, you basically have to have moash on screen more or people will be like “wait who is that” when he suddenly becomes more relevant. its harder to get away with just Saying he’s kaladin’s best friend.

the one thing that holds me back from having too much hope is that sanderson has unprecedented creative control over the shows, so i’m not confident that the things he did wrong the first time around won’t just be reinforced. ultimately i think it will always come down to how sanderson feels about and therefore portrays moash as a character, and i think as much as he has tried to make moash nuanced, sanderson hates him. and that’s just unavoidable and shines through in all his writing.
