Veil being darkeyed, and the way it was handled was so wrong on so many different levels that I'm shocked it was even included in the books.

Yeppp it's Raoden's Kaloo disguise all over again, but this time she's not in blackface we PROMISE, one of her alters is just transracial and we're never ever going to deal with the implications of that but Kaladin thinks Veil's hot so it's fiiiiiine

It's not even that it's the fact that in WoR, she literally pretends to have gone through a lot and be discriminated against for "being a darkeyed."

She literally takes those real-life experiences and internalizes them passing them of as her own or rather her alters.

While having the gall to tell Kaladin in that same book, mind you, that he should just get over his own experiences, and it can't be that bad bc everybody has their own trauma. Like WHAT??!!!

What Shallan means here and what's actually happened to Kaladin aren't even REMOTELY THE SMAE THING!!

Not to mention that in WoR specifically, i dont think the idea of making her DID had FULLY formed in Sanderson's mind, so it just comes off as Shallan playing pretend rather than that being a split personality.

Listen, we can have nuanced discussions about Jasnah's character and all her flaws. I would be more than happy to, for she would not be Jasnah Kholin without them.
