the thought in my brain: even though i was able to see a few gay people growing up, it happened very rarely, and the only ones i saw were young. because of this, i still often have a hard time envisioning myself growing old and being able to live a happy and fulfilling life. so now being able to see older gay men doing exactly this is very comforting and reassuring, since it helps me internalize both the fact that there are more experienced people in the community willing to guide me, as well as the fact that i will be able to grow old and live a happy life like them
