things you will experience if you keep doing your best
actually looking forward to things and having enough energy to do everything you want to doÂ
the fresh feeling after cleaning everything and throwing away things that were piling up since forever, including mentally
realising that you havenât thought about someone for three days straight when youâve been sad about them for a long time
making a new friend who genuinely likes talking to you after feeling like you donât belong anywhere or youâre better off alone
making more time for people that really matter to you and actually love you unconditionally instead of endlessly wondering why some people left you or didnât reciprocate
not placing your entire sense of worth on someone else because you feel happy and whole by yourselfÂ
an outward change in appearance, almost a kind of glow because youâre radiating warmth and strength from inside
good grades, making huge improvements and achieving whatever goals you have in mind
feeling calmer and not relying on external validation because you see your own worth, trust yourself fully and can accept imperfection, laugh at your own embarrassing moments, encourage yourself when youâre down and quickly forgive your own mistakesÂ
gaining enough respect for yourself to treat yourself gently and not tolerating anyone who treats you badly
realising that you feel lighter inside and nothing is as much as a chore as it used to be
feeling yourself become less unaffected by small things that used to ruin your day
realising that you can make any changes in your life if you stopped discouraging yourself so much
realising you donât need many superficial distractions anymore because you actually feel okay

We all deserve a Supportive Parent of a Kindergarten Kid in our head
You know this age when little kid can show anything to their parents and they would congratulate them, show/fake interest, pretend very loudly to be impressed by what the kid says, shows or does and giving them sweet little nicknames?
Well, they stop doing this after some time but I think we should bring it back in our life and if no one is gonna do it for us, we should do it for ourselves.
You did little productive things today? But this morning you didn't even want to get out of bed! You did it! I'm proud of you, champ!
This thing you produced is a little askew? That's how you see it is hand made!
It took one year to complete this WIP? Wow! That's real dedication, sweetheart!
Of course I want to hear everything on the latest thing you're been obsessed about! Let's look it up on the internet!
This kid show you really like? If it makes you happy, no one cares what people thing about it, deary.
Be your own supporter, you deserve a little close attention, warm affection and loud praise in your daily life!
good emotional skills to know 4 college but also in general
this is stuff that iâve found helpful and am in the process of working on. they may not be achievable for you without help and may not work for your specific circumstance, but this is a list of suggestions that you might be able to think about. i am also not a mental health professional so please do feel free to contradict me!!
self soothing. having a toolbox to take care of yourself by yourself. bc sometimes nobody else is available and you just gotta put some lotion on, listen to a tune, and go to bed early.Â
checking in. checking in with yourself to see if youâre okay. knowing how to alter your strategies when your strategies arenât working. knowing when your strategies arenât working. this is just taking some time every day to reflect on what goals you didnât meet and why and what you can do to fix that.
thereâs nothing you âshouldâ be doing. if you get caught up thinking âi should be doing xâ thatâs false! stop that! âshouldâ be doing better implies that you have some obligation to do whatever it is that you âshouldâ be doing. you donât owe anybody except yourself. analyze why you think you should be doing that thing and change that intoâŚ. âi want to be doing x becauseâŚâ or âdoing x will make me happier, becauseâŚâ. overall, more productive and less self-shamey.Â
disconnecting from the crowd. eating in a crowded dining hall can be stressful! knowing how to be alone in a crowd and stay calm is helpful
being okay with being alone.  tbh college is kind of⌠being alone a lot, in my experience. even though youâre surrounded by people, a lot of time is spent alone. making friends is hard. your friends have different schedules. youâre busy. shit sucks. we make the best of it.
knowing yourself. this relates to a lot of what iâve already said but like. knowing your emotional state and knowing what helps trick the monkey brain is helpful. stop repressing your feelings, friends.
talking to strangers. ordering from a menu! paying library fines. going to office hours. asking for a cashier at the register if there isnât one. ya this is hard. ya you gotta expose yourself. sometimes i just try playing a persona. like this isnât me ordering a sandwich. this is a cool me who knows how to talk to people who is ordering a sandwich.
you donât have to be friends with your roommates. you just have to live together in a way that doesnât make you two hate each other. ideally, you two will coexist in a way that doesnât interfere with the otherâs daily life.
give and taking. on the topic of roommates, sometimes your roommate can be a shitty person, but sometimes you are the shitty person! give a little but if theyâre negatively impacting your life, communicate.
communicating during disagreements. explain what your emotions are instead of blaming them. âi feel hurt when youâŚâ or âi feel frustrated whenâ or âi feel unappreciated when.â if things get heated, ask if you both can take a ten minute break and then come back. and donât bring up disagreements when the other party is preoccupied or going somewhere. you can legitimately schedule a discussion.
itâs okay to apologize. learning to swallow your pride gets easier each time.
knowing that people work differently than you. some people are not gonna click with you and itâs gonna seem like they have this whole brain process up there that is totally unlike yours. and yeah! thatâs how it is. and thatâs chill if they arenât hurting anyone else. work with them and be flexible!!Â
comforting people. you will probably/definitely see someone cry! hell if i know how to comfort people. someone please help. but some things iâve learned are: 1) different people need different things. different people need different things! 2) people need different things at different times. 3) you can ask them what they want and it wonât be weird. 4) apparently a lot of people like hugs? but ask. and itâs okay to not want a hug. 5) just show that you care in some way if you donât know what they need. i used to think that if somebody needed to tell me what they needed it was a sign that i just didnât know them well enough and we werenât compatible or i wasnât being a good friend. thatâs fake! friendship isnât based off of fitting naturally in every way and making an effort to be good for them is important.
knowing itâs okay to not be liked by everyone. itâs okay if strangers think youâre dumb because you said something dumb in public. you know youâre not dumb. itâs okay if not everybody you meet likes you. itâs okay if you do something cringey. everybody has their own shit to deal with and you will not shatter their world. grow and move on!
forgiving yourself. iâm trying this new thing where when i feel embarrassed about something i say. out loud. âi forgive myself.â and then i just try to grow from that and move on without getting caught in a spiral of shame.
knowing what you need vs what you want and what is better at the time. what you need: a shower. what you want: to not do that. solution: take a shower! or maybe what you actually need is to go to sleep? but guess what. you probably know what is good for you. the hard part is actually doing it.
realize that building habits is less work than discipline. emotional effort is expended every time you have to make yourself do something. just make it part of your routine and youâll just think itâs normal to do all the good things! like, for example, iâm trying to make it a habit to eat structured meals instead of a âeat when iâm hungryâ thing because i know that makes me skip meals, which is bad!
you wonât be able to do everything. forgive yourself for that. write down things that are top priority and focus on them. everything else is not important right now and you shouldnât beat yourself up for not being able to do them.
your health is important. iâm not saying health will solve all your problems. it wonât! but health will cause a lot of your problems to go away. because letâs face it. not sleeping causes a lot of problems.Â
itâs okay to ask for help. we say this a lot but itâs hard to internalize it. hereâs a thought: thereâs so much shame and hesitation about asking for help so by doing that youâre actually being proactive (which is respectable) and mature, and therefore⌠not weak or stupid. ask for help even before you need it! most people love to help others. and especially take advantage of people who are OFFERING help. for example: counselors at school or TAs. itâs literally their job. they want to do it. and if you donât want to talk to anybody in real life, my inbox is always open.
Thatâs why we keep getting hacked lmao
its because schools are so caught up in violating students every rights to privacy that they are blatently disregarding thoes same kids safety. zoom allowes you to track eye movements. mousepad/mouse movemenst. the browser activitiy of the user. its horrifying and dare i fucking say litteral motherfucking spyware. its not a app its a fucking virus.  its so horrifically easy to guess every facet of zoom that im guessing that schools just looked at the violation features and took them in without a second throught or trial. they disregard better functioning programs like discord because they are horrified that thoes programs would give students a sliver of privacy their instistance on using zoom is a very clear direct cause of schools horrific obsession with micromanageing every single facet of a students life. report the fucking app. get it taken down
If you have to use Zoom, your best bet is to run it from the browser. The Zoom website will try to get you to use the app, but if you keep declining that, it will use its browser-based interface. Since browsers have much better security, theyâre unable to do any kind of persistent monitoring and have almost no access to system activities. When you close the tab, you can be assured that it isnât running.

The Pomodoro Method!
The Pomodoro Method is a great time management technique that a lot of people use and find to be helpful! Iâve used this method on and off for several years (usually around midterms and finals) and always enjoy using it!
The basic premise of this technique is to work for 25 minutes, then take a 5 minute break. Every 3 breaks youâre allowed to have a longer break of 15 minutes. Repeat this until your work is done.
So, what does this mean for you?
This method can be used for any type of tasks, it doesnât have to be studying! You could also use this for any job-related work, cleaning, passion projects, anything you need or want to do!
Personally, I see this as a way to remind me to take breaks since I could just keep working for hours on end which just leads to burnout for me. The frequent reminder to take a break helps to keep things a little more balanced.
You could approach each 25 minute block as a way to separate which tasks youâre working on (for example, you could plan to work on one piece of homework for the first block, clean out your fridge for the second block, study for a test for the third block, etc.), or you could just work on each task until theyâre done, taking breaks in the middle of tasks (for example, studying for a test might take 3.5 blocks, taking breaks every 25 minutes, then after youâve finished you just move on to another task). Or you could do a combination of the two methods, whatever fits for you! I like breaking down larger tasks into smaller chunks so for me doing the first method works the best with interleaving.
Guidelines for blocks
These are just suggestions for helping to make each pomodoro block more productive, but you can customize your experience to fit your life and your tasks!
Put your phone/social media away! I use the app SelfControl on my laptop and the Forest app on my phone to keep myself on track and off of social media.
Have water and healthy snacks readily on hand so you donât have to get up to get food in the middle of a block.
If you like to listen to music while working, put on music without vocals (or music that youâre really familiar with so you arenât distracted by listening to the words). If you donât like listening to music while working, then donât! I like wearing earplugs if Iâm not listening to music since to me itâs a signal that I need to focus and it helps keep me from getting distracted by other noises around me.
Try your best to single-task instead of multi-tasking. My favorite way to encourage myself to single-task is by only allowing myself to have 1-3 tabs open at a time (only more than one if I need them for the work Iâm currently doing). Any other tabs are bookmarked if necessary and then closed.
Ideas for breaks
Prep a snack to have during your next block
Read a book thatâs not related to school or work
Go for a short walk
Stretch, yoga, or do a short workout
Doodle
Listen to a guided meditation
Put on some of your favorite music (and dance around to it if possible!)
Change up where youâre working (go sit outside for your next block, find a different table, etc.)
Have a short phone call, text or conversation with a friend or family member
Have you all tried the Pomodoro Method? What are your thoughts? Let me know! x

Small Productivity Tips
THINGS TO TRY TO HELP BOOST PRODUCTIVITY
Hey everyone! Lately, Iâve been finding that my productivity and just the want to work (and effort I put in when I do) was been lackingâŚbadly. So, Iâve decided to compile a list of small things to help me improve my productivity, things I want to try out and things I know have worked in the past, so I hope these can help you guys too. Â
Start the day by time blocking;Â iâve been using just the calendar app on my iPhone/Mac, and basically i just block out times during my day to get certain things done, and even if itâs not done (unless itâs due that day) i move onto the next thing to keep the workflow goingÂ
Keep a workflow; if possible, donât have large breaks of time between your studying and change the class that youâre studying every 1-1.5 hours depending on the amount of work that needs to be done, this will keep you on your toes and overall less bored
Change your study space; even if you canât (or donât want to) get out of your house, rearranging your workspace or even going to a different room to study for a few days out of the week can really help
PUT YOUR PHONE OUT OF THE ROOM; this has been the biggest thing for me as i kept finding myself getting distracted, and if i need to work on my laptop, for ex. i need lecture slides or an online textbook, when possible, i load everything then turn off the wifi on my laptop
Study with someone; or just have an accountability partner, i know a lot of people donât find this very helpful, myself included, but something being in an environment where everyone else is working too makes you want to work as well. or even putting a study with me (realtime) can help you be more efficient
Make your study space a positive place; by this i mean, donât bring a negative attitude towards it, even if you donât want to study, if you go in with a bad attitude, the fact of the matter is that you more than likely wonât get much done, or if you do it wonât be as good as your work would be with a positive headspace. i sometimes light candles or put on instrumental background music to make the space more inviting
Take breaks; your productivity is the best in 50-minute chunks. your mental attention is proven to begin declining after 30 mins and steeply decline after 50. if youâre not in a good work/productivity swing try a 5-10 minute break every 50 mins of uninterrupted studying, but this doesnât mean that if you are working hard, you should stop the flow!
I hope these little tips can help boost your productivity a bit more, even if you donât do all of them, maybe try to implement some of these into your study routine and see the difference a small change can make
If you have any requests for posts or something you want me to talk about, feel free to leave a comment, msg, or ask!

How to ACTUALLY achieve your goals
1. Set habits, not goals
The problem with goals is that theyâre literally just the end result that we wish for. When we set goals we donât usually specify HOW we are actually going to get to that finish line, we lack an action plan. HABITS > GOALS. Instead of making a list of things that you want to achieve this year, make a list of habits that you want to achieve every day or every week. Let those be your only goals, and set them in a way that lets you check if you are actually on the right path.
Example: Instead of âLose weightâ make it a daily goal to âMake half of my dinner plate veggiesâ or âWork out 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)â or âAlways put a bottle of water on my bedside table before going to bed and drink it upon waking upâ.Â
Be as specific as you possibly can! Plan habits in a way that lets you check them off every day. The satisfaction of doing that will keep you motivated!
2. Baby steps. Seriously.
Ok so before we get all excited and plan to incorporate a thousand habits into our daily routines: LETâS CALM DOWN. What is actually, realistically achievable? Because letâs be honest, even though itâs a nice thought, we probably wonât be able to go from eating one vegetable a month to drinking water in the morning, going for a run, eating a salad every day AND drinking 3 cups of green tea every day. Itâs just not gonna happen. So. Ask yourself again. WHAT IS REALISTIC? Now cut that in half. Choose only one (1!) of those goals to start, and make it an easy one to achieve. Make it so easy that itâs impossible to fail. (Example: Read 1 page of a book) Do that for 3 or 5 days before either leveling it up (Example: Read 2 pages) or adding another habit (Example: Drink a cup of water upon waking up). Keep going like that, giving yourself enough time to feel those daily goals transform into literal habits that you just do because theyâve become a part of your life. Keep adding something small here and there, but know when to stop. Listen to your body, listen to your mind. See it as a sport, as something you can get better at only by increasing its difficulty little by little. And remember this quote by Bill Burnett: âThe unattainable best is the enemy of all the available betters.â. Just think about that.
3. Write it down, baby.
Literally. I donât care if itâs in your planner, your phone, a notebook or a piece of paper, but you need to see your habits in front of you and when they are supposed to completed. This way you can also check them off as you go, which is really motivating, especially when you look back and see everything youâve already achieved. Keep it simple if you want by just writing simple checklists for every day, or make it pretty by using colors and stickers, but make it YOURS.
4. Be a team player.
If you have a friend who wants to join you on this journey you can keep each other in check, maybe even sitting down together once a week to discuss how your past week went. If not, tell someone. Tell them about what habits youâre going to incorporate into your life and ask them to check in on you from time to time. This way you know that youâre going to have to explain yourself if you donât follow through, which most of the time is motivating enough to just do it.
5. Reward yourself.
Just like you plan your habits, you should plan rewards! But again: itâs all about achievability. Learn to be proud of small improvements and encourage yourself the same way you would a friend. For example, after completing a habit 5 or 7 days in a row, pamper yourself by taking a bubble bath, putting on a face and hair mask and eating your favorite food. You can also plan a picnic with friends, go for a hike, buy that lipstick youâve been eyeing for so long, go out to dance with friends⌠there are so many options! Rewards will keep you motivated by being a short-term goal you can work towards, which most of the time is much easier than just thinking of that long-term goal that seems so far out of reach.
6. Be kind to yourself.
Always treat yourself the way you would treat your best friend if they were in the same position. What would you tell them if they fell off track and messed up? Youâd probably say to them that itâs okay, that things like that happen. Youâd tell them to just start fresh and that everything will turn out just fine, right? Tell yourself the same things when you mess up, because you will mess up. Nobody is perfect, weâre all just human and there will come a point when youâll be tired, stressed or busy and you wonât be able to keep up with everything, and THATâS OKAY. Instead of beating yourself up over it and losing all motivation learn to forgive yourself, take a deep breath and get back on track. You can do this!
How to Create a Life Organizational System (when everythingâs a mess)
⢠1/14/20 â˘Â 11:30 am â˘
The other day I helped my friend through this process since she had basically no organizational system and it was getting really difficult to get things done on time and for her to take care of herself on top of schoolwork and a job. I thought some of you would benefit from this considering some of the comments and messages I get, so here you go! No shame here, I just want to help and share what Iâve helped several people to do and it seems to be pretty effective!
The first step is to have a desire to change things. The first step to making a substantial change is to acknowledge that thereâs a problem in the first place. You need to have a system for managing your life, and if you donât currently have one then you need to develop one and try to stick to it (you can always change it up later if itâs not working! These are designed to help you and make life easier, not harder!)
Write a list of all your commitments. This can include things like work, school, a hobby, a club, and taking care of yourself, or any other categories that are relevant to your life! Be as specific as possible to write down all of your recurring commitments, this will help you later in the process.
Figure out what isnât working the most. Whatâs the biggest problem? Do you keep missing important things because you donât remember when things are scheduled for? Is your email inbox overflowing? Do you start every day by scrambling around in the morning, unsure of what to do first? Do you keep turning in assignments late? All of the above? Figure out your most important problem to fix and make that your top priority for now. We can also address other issues, but this will be your main focus.
Brainstorm solutions to your main issue. Do you need to set up a calendar system? Need to sort through your email and create a system moving forward so it stays manageable? Do you need to set a specific morning routine? Need a planner or other time management system? Think of some solutions to your main issues and some reasonable, actionable steps that you can take to do it.
Take the first step towards tackling this issue. This can be a small step or a big step, whatever you have time for! If you need to set up a calendar system, for example, you could start by inputting important commitments for the upcoming week. If you need to figure out your email system, you could start by making a couple of folders to organize things. Itâs totally up to you!
Once youâve started to tackle your main issue, now itâs time to focus on how you want to be spending your days. Make a list of any habits you want to incorporate into your life on a regular basis (whether thatâs daily, weekly, or monthly), and determine what specific days (and times, if applicable) you want to do each habit. If they are time-specific, put them into your calendar as a recurring event! These habits arenât permanent, you can change them up as you go if you find theyâre too much or not a right fit, so try not to put too much pressure on yourself! Also try to just focus on doing 2-5 things on a regular basis, since Iâve found doing any more than that can get overwhelming and frustrating. Â Start smaller, and you can always add more as you like.
Now for another list, this time itâs our short-term to doâs! What do you need to get done in the next week, or next few days? I find it helpful to sort tasks by categories based on my recurring commitment list, as well as a miscellaneous list for anything that doesnât fit in the other categories. Write down the due dates next to each task, if they have one. Then, write down what day you want to work on each task, and try to estimate how much time each task will take. No worries if a task is going to take more than one day, just write it down for all of those days that you think it might take to complete it!
Then, write down a list of long-term to doâs! Not everyone will have stuff in this category, but this is for bigger tasks like essays or projects that need to be broken up into smaller steps. Write down any longer-term projects you have, and then below them write down some smaller steps that you need to do to build up to the completion of the project. Be as specific as possible! Then, write down âdue datesâ for each sub-task so that itâll help to pace out the project over time instead of just doing everything at the last minute.
Look at your lists and ask yourself if all of them are entirely necessary. Itâs ok if theyâre all important, but taking time to consider if thereâs anything you can cut down on to make your life a little easier can really pay off in the long term.
Make one last list for the next week (or next couple of days), sorting through your habits, short-term to doâs, and long-term to doâs lists and order tasks based on what day they need to get done. For example, on Monday you might have to do laundry, to do a homework assignment, and to create an outline for your essay. If you have an overwhelming amount of stuff all on one day, try to re-allocate some of the tasks to other days if possible. Otherwise, at least you know ahead of time that itâs going to be a busy day and you can plan accordingly!
If you arenât sure youâll remember to check your list (which you can totally write into a planner or other system if you donât want to just use the plain olâ list, it can be a great start to using a planner or bullet journal if you arenât already using one!), Iâd recommend setting a reminder on your phone to check it every day. (Iâd also recommend taking a photo of your lists if youâre the kind of person who loses things!)
The last step is to continue! Keep working on tackling your main issue and follow your list(s) to the best of your ability! Once you feel like you have a handle on things, then you can work towards getting a hold on another issue that you have with your organizational system! Itâs totally ok to continuously revise your system, if anything itâs even better to keep improving it since continual progress is amazing!

//MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS - HERE IS THE ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF FINDING THAT RIGHT WORD!!!!!
Iâve reblogged it before, and Iâll reblog it again
And again, itâs a solid set of useful vocabulary for both native speakers and the ones learning English! I love it.
College things that people wonât tell you about (Warning: brutal honesty included)
The food
You will most likely get sick if you are not used to the food that the university cafeteria serves. Not in a âoh god Iâm dying and throwing up everywhereâ sick, but more in a subtle way: slight stomachache, maybe some constipation, gas, or diarrhea, it all depends of how your body reacts to it, how the food is being prepared, and what you are eating.
Talking about what you are eating. You will have the option to get a burger and fries for every meal, or pizza, or cake. Donât do it. For your healthâs sake, donât. I know it sounds tempting, and I know fries for every meal is delicious (fry lover here!), but I am telling you from experience, you will regret eating the same greasy food so often and your body will show it for you.Â
For about a week in college I started to not care about myself (e.g. neglected skin care, ate crappy food, did not exercise, was barely doing my school work), and it was starting to show. I gained about five pounds in just those days (more about it later), my skin was greasy and I was getting pimples like crazy, I was having stomachaches everyday, and I felt as if I was getting lazier as days went by. I decided to change my eating habits. I chose fruit and salads instead of a burger and fries/pizza. And it helped me get my life together a little bit. I felt healthier and my skin cleared up.
Freshman 15Â
Yes. You will gain weight. It is normal, and you should not freak out.
There will be lots of food available to you and no one to stop your from eating what ever you want. You will have more than too many snacks sometimes, or a second dinner because you decided to go eat again with your friends. Itâs okay. Try to stay active so the weight changes are not extreme; go for a walk, or go out running, hit the gym often, practice your sport, etc. Just keep moving.
If you think you might be dealing with an eating disorder, contact your clinic and they will put you in touch with psychological help available on campus. Remember, nothing wrong in admitting that you are having problems, help is always there.
Condoms and Sexuality
When it comes to sexuality, I am open to discuss the subject as if we were simply talking about groceries, you can just ask my friends. I consider that Iâm a very sex positive person, because it should not be a taboo subject (unless it is making someone uncomfortable). We need more sex education available (luckily, Planned Parenthood had some workshops at my school, and being who I am, I dragged my friends with me to one), many people do not know how to even put on a condom, or what sex might lead to (pregnancies and STIs/STDs).
Anyway, Iâll keep it simple: carry your own condoms even if you yourself are not sexually active (check that they are not expired, ripped, and keep them in a safe place); if you decide to be sexually active, in any way (one night stands or something more stable), get tested (there are many resources on campus, if you do not want to use them, look for the nearest clinic and get it done there); if you think that sex is just not your thing (i.e. asexuality, saving yourself for marriage, etc.) that is perfectly fine and you should not let anyone shame you for your decision or pressure you into having sex.
Snacks and Water
Carry snacks with you at all times, especially if you are planning on being out most of the day. You will get hungry, and therefore grumpy or weak. Also, carry a reusable water bottle so you can keep yourself hydrated.
It can be fruit, bars, trail mix, anything that can be considered a snack. Now if you want to carry a lunch with you, I am not stopping you.
Peer Pressure
This is not something that happens only in HS. It happens everywhere, and if you feel like you are being pressured into doing something (alcohol, smoking, drugs, sex, anything) stand your ground and be firm with your decision. I donât care if you think you might lose friends or look like a weakling, if you do not want to do something, NO ONE should force you to do it. In the case that you are feeling uncomfortable in any given situation where peer pressure is taking place, get out of there; forget about âlooking good for your friendsâ or âbeing cool with themâ.
Extra Chargers
Carry your chargers with you at all times. Your laptop charger and also your phoneâs, you might not know what might come up that will force you to be out working for long periods of time ahem, group projects that require you to meet until late at night or that take almost six hours.
Laundry
For goodnessâ sake, DO YOUR LAUNDRY once a week. (I usually do it on Thursdays because i have noticed is the day with the least people. Try not to do it on Sundays, everyone does it on Sundays)
Story time because, why not?
I once went about three weeks without doing laundry. It started with me just being lazy and saying that I would do it in a few days, then next thing I know itâs midterm season and those days turned into weeks. By the time I decided to do my laundry, I already had both of my laundry bags completely full (I had to take my spare laundry bag from my storage thing lol). The trips to the laundromat were easy, except for having to carry those heavy laundry bags. Once I got there I had to wait for washing machines to be emptyâŚ.Â
What I am trying to say is: donât put yourself in the position that I was in. Be responsible and do your laundry often. Iâm also saying this because dirty laundry might get smelly such as gym clothes, and you donât want to stink up your dorm.
Exercise
Try to stay active. I know we all think that walking from class to class is enough physical activity, but no. Go for a walk, try to go for a run, ride your bike around, go to the gym, and try to do these things at least 3 times a week. If you do not stay active, you will store extra fat, your joints will hurt, youâre prone to suffer stress more. If you struggle with doing physical activity, get together with a friend or a groups of friends and simply go for a walk; it takes away the stress and you are moving at the same time.Â
Just stay active.
Majors
No shame in changing your major. So you thought you were going to college to study something but along the way you realize that you prefer something else, good, change it. Donât stay doing something that makes you unhappy only because you started with it. Changing your mind is part of any process, and in college it will happen a lot of times.
Time management
Get your shit together. Iâm saying it like that because that is how I realized that I needed to manage my time better.Â
Get a planner, some apps to help you manage your time, study in time lapses and take good breaks, have a plan for the day, prioritize your school work over social events or parties or whatever it is that has been taking your time and distracting you from doing your work, get some to-do lists and cross items out as you complete them, have a goal for each day (âtoday I want to finish this essay and proofread itâ).Â
Finish what needs to get done first so you can go and do any other things that you want. Create a balance.
Money Management
Weâre broke college students Iâm just stating the facts here.
Try to have a spending plan, or a budget, and stick to it. Save some money from the money you get (when I get $10, I save $3). And I know I am always advocating to the whole Treat-Yo-Self thing, but donât abuse it. Treat yourself but think, âdo I really need this? how many times will I actually use it? can I get it for cheaper?â Think before you buy, so you wonât end up just wasting money that you WILL need later.
You can get a piggy bank if that is what works for you, but just try to not waste money on useless things. Remember that money does not grow on trees, and it is something that is earned with hard work, so value it.
Also, donât go out every day or try to spend money the way your friends spend money. Allow yourself to say âI cannot afford that right nowâ, no shame on that. Donât feel bad for having to turn down plans because you have more important spending to do. Itâs okay, really, your friends will understand.Â
If you have any questions or would like to discuss any of my points, message me and I will gladly talk to you. And letâs remember that as Studyblrs, we are here to help each other and build each other up.
If you still have questions about something and I did not include it in a post, let me know and I can write about it.
