Mozilla CEO will Eventually Implement AI into Firefox
For anyone wondering, The Verge shared a post on Bluesky linking to an article titled Mozillaâs new CEO is doubling down on an AI future for Firefox. Forbes has also posted an article on their website titled Mozilla Bets Trust And User-First AI Wins The New Browser Wars. Long story short, they're going to be adding AI shenanigans to their browser much to the dismay of ... well ... everyone.
I'm very much displeased with the outcome and outlook of Firefox because I've been using it for 15+ years. With that being said, I definitely think y'all should switch web browsers ASAP. I 100% recommend the following:
Floorp
LibreWolf
Waterfox
All three are forks of Firefox (meaning that they created a browser using Firefox's code and such) so if you're used to Firefox's UI then you won't have any problems using the these three. Floorp and LibreOffice haven't implement ANY forms of AI into their browsers as of yet. Waterfox, on the other hand, has EXPLICITLY STATED that they're anti-AI. So that's definitely something worth looking into.
UPDATE: I've done a strikethrough for Floorp and LibreWolf because I just found out they do, in fact, have AI shit planned later on down the road. I definitely recommend you going with Waterfox.
UPDATE #2: While Gen AI has been brought to many users' attention for LibreWolf (which can be seen in the comments section) well over a year ago, and it does look like they've since dealt with it as seen here, it's definitely safe to use LibreWolf from the looks of it!
A boy can dream, can't he?
Hey, so if you have Windows 11 installed and have been losing your mind over the fact that you can't find your own files because Windows is now prioritizing internet search results first, you can fix it by following this guide:
Stop the OS from pulling up web results when you just want files and apps.
As someone with over 900 GB of intentionally and properly named files on her computer (I do a lot of digital art and digital media work that requires high-volume files that function off of dependencies), this feature was making me furious. I followed the above instructions and can confirm that the method outlined solves the problem.
I have just tried this, it works and the explanation how to do it was so user friendly and clearly laid out.
10 and 11 are also kinda secretly adding Windows Copilot to your computer when you're not looking. Even without software updates. You can follow this guide to disable Copilot
Completely disable Copilot in Windows 11 in just a few simple steps.
The guide uses a program called gpedit (group policy editor), if you can't find it on your computer, follow this guide to install/enable it, and remember to always run as administrator:
Run these commands in command prompt.
Win + Q
Search: command prompt
Right-click > Run as admin
Copy, paste, and enter these commands:
FOR %F IN ("%SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy-ClientTools-Package~*.mum") DO ( DISM /Online /NoRestart /Add-Package:"%F" )
FOR %F IN ("%SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy-ClientExtensions-Package~*.mum") DO ( DISM /Online /NoRestart /Add-Package:"%F" )
Test it by opening Win + R
Type: gpedit.msc
See if it opens

Aphobia starts to resurface again and im wondering if you have some great, in-depth articles and/or statics about the abuse and discrimination we face.
Thanks!
Hello, wild bananas! We apologize for how long it took to get back to you. Things have been busy lately, but we found quite a few articles for you:

Reblogging again because I just realized that if I had this advice in high school I wouldâve never made a tumblr account.
Also works for most of those news sites like WSJ or NYT that only let you read a little bit, or block adblockers. Also some disable the scroll bar but if you go to the right side of the console after hitting F12 and look for the CSS element âoverflowâ and change it from âhiddenâ to âvisibleâ then you can continue scrolling for free. Might have to click around on different parts of the page to find it, but it should work.
disclaimer: I am east asian. if anyone who is not white sees anything wrong with my phrasing, inaccuracies, or insensitivity, or something I missed, please feel free to add on. Iâm just one person with one perspective; none of what I say should be taken as The Singular way to draw an Asian character. if you havent done so already, please take the effort to expand your view of Asian culture outside this one tutorial.
if a white person reblogs this and adds something stupid Iâm going to bite and kick you like a wild animal
I LOVE this post and wanted to add some additional info, cause I see a lot of people who assume that drawing asian hair is the same as drawing white hair. This is not the case! Thereâs more to it than just the color.
Image description for the original post and my addition are underneath the read more at the end.
Thank you for reading! Once again, image description for my images and OPâs images are under the cut.
Just like OP, Iâm only one single person, so if anyone wants to correct me or add something I missed, then go for it. And further disclaimer, there are exceptions to everything Iâve said in this post, and it only applies to East and Southeast asian people who are either not mixed or white-mixed, as those are the hair types Iâm most familiar with.
Iâd like to add that there are Black people of non-African decent in Asia. We exist. So the whole âI wonât draw Black people in anime because itâs set in ~Asia~â is absolutely bullshit (besides the fact that those of African decent also live there). The so called ânegritoâ ethnic group is comprised of many different cultures throughout south and southeast Asia and are considered Black (they have dark skin and coiled âAfro-textureâ hair) Additionally, the Moluccan and Papuan people of southeast Indonesia are Black.
Also regarding hair, naturally curly hair absolutely is a thing in e/s/se Asia. Our hair runs the gamut from loose wavy curls to tight, kinky coiled hair.
Blonde or red hair and blue eyes are also possible in Maluku and Papua, due to genetic quirk that has nothing to do with having white heritage.
On to types of curly hair Asian people can have:
[A picture of Sandra Oh with a long, curly shag haircut, wearing a pink blouse against a white backdrop] Sandra Oh is a great example of an east Asia person with curly hair. She has wavy/curly hair.
[A picture of Aarti Sequeria, an Indian woman with medium skin tone, shoulder length medium curls, wearing a green blouse against a colorful background]
Curly hair is also common in south Asia. This is Aarti Sequeria, an Indian person with tighter curls.
Then we get to the tightest curls.
[Three pictures of young people from Maluku or Papua Indonesia. The first shows two boys in blue shirts with dark skin and curly hair. The boy on the left has loose, dark curls and the boy on the right has dark red-blonde tightly coiled curls. The second picture shows a child with very dark skin with red undertones. They have tightly curled dark red-orange hair. The last one shows a boy with dark brown skin, dark ash blonde hair, and dark grey eyes. He is not wearing a shirt. End description]
These are all people from Maluku and Papua in southeast Indonesia. This is their natural hair color and texture. Also note how warm their skin tone is. As a note, the reason these are all pictures of children is that more often than not, those with blonde hair as children will have their hair darken as they get older. Additionally, note how the roots are much darker than the ends. This is because most of the blonde hair comes from sun bleaching rather than it coming out of the scalp blonde.
My family is from Maluku and I have cousins with the same bright red hair, and both of their parents have dark brown/black hair. I also have family who have blue eyes, but both of their parents have brown eyes. So while itâs very, very uncommon, it is possible for an Asian person to be blonde. However, unless you are depicting someone from these areas, the blue eyes/blonde hair is still very much a donât do this, especially if you are a white artist.
There are so many ways to look Asian. So many hair textures, so many skin colors. Asia is a lot more diverse than the west depicts it to be.

Taylor Swift bravely standing up for the right of billionaires to destroy public information. (link here)
I mean...I'm pretty sure it's illegal to track someone's flight (or any personal info such as phone number or address) information, it's stalking behavior and she's worried about her safety, but do go on about how she's protecting oligarchs by doing that đ¤ˇ
It is not illegal to track someone's flight; this is publically held information by the FAA. Private planes are part of a taxpayer funded network of airports, air traffic control, etc; all of which need to be able to talk to each other openly and track which planes are going where in order for that system to function properly.
Hiding this information is a public safety issue; if no one knows the plane is there, it creates problems for the safety of that plane and the safety of other pilots flying nearby. If no one knows the plane is in the air, then some hobbyist doctor in his small aircraft could ram right into it and boom, you've got a midair collision raining aircraft parts down on a small town in 'flyover country.'
Funnily enough, the flights are also tracked publically FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PEOPLE ON THE PLANE. If there is an issue with the aircraft, local emergency responses need to be able to identify where the plane went down as quickly as possible in an attempt to save lives. Otherwise, you could end up in a situation like the infamous Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. Elimnating public tracking of her aircraft would probably put Taylor in a lot more harm than broadcasting what airports she flew into/out of ever could. Again, public safety issue.
The FAA was hardline on this during the 2008 financial crisis when lots of major bank executives tried to divert public opinion by scrubbing their flight records (for some reason people were upset that the banks who'd just gotten a bunch of taxpayer bailout money were taking lots of private flights!)
A few years back when Elon Musk claimed this exact same Florida student was posting his 'assasination coordinates' and tried to get legal recourse against him, his legal team quickly found out he had no standing to sue. All Musk could do was ban this kid from twitter.
Again, this information is tracked for public safety. It is legal and important that this tracking information is available. This doesn't stop being true just because the rich person complaining is someone you personally like.
If Taylor Swift was really worried about her safety, then she would do what a lot of other rich people have done these past few years and charter her private flights. That way she's not the owner of the aircraft and, while the plane is still visible, it's unknown who's on it. The CEO of Apple pulls this move, no reason Taylor couldn't do the same.
But she's not doing that. Because this isn't about her safety. This is a petty move because she's upset the whole 'private plane impact on climate change' discourse dinged her reputation a few years back.
And rather than selling her plane or taking less private flights, she selfishly wants to keep one of her favorite toys.
Yeah, I think she's just completely unambiguously wrong here. We do in fact track planes, in real time, for good reasons, and it's the same for everybody.
I miss the days when, no matter how slow your internet was, if you paused any video and let it buffer long enough, you could watch it uninterrupted
If you use Firefox, you can go to the about:config page, search for "media.mediasource.enabled" and double click on it to set it to false. After you restart Firefox, all youtube videos will load entirely even when paused! This also affects other streaming websites :)
I think about this a lot.

the funny thing is that i don't think younger people - and i mean those under the age of 40 - really have a grasp on how many of today's issues can be tied back to a disastrous reagan policy:
war on drugs: reagan's aggressive escalation of the war on drugs was a catastrophic policy, primarily targeting minority communities and fueling mass incarceration. the crusade against drugs was more about controlling the Black, Latino and Native communities than addressing the actual problems of drug abuse, leading to a legacy of broken families and systemic racism within the criminal justice system.
deregulation and economic policies: reaganomics was an absolute disaster for the working class. reagan's policies of aggressive tax cuts for the rich, deregulation, and slashing social programs were nothing less than class warfare, deepening income inequality and entrenching corporate greed. these types of policies were a clear message that reagan's america was only for the wealthy elite and a loud "fuck you" to working americans.
environmental policies: despite his reputation being whitewashed thanks to the recovery of the ozone layer, reagan's environmental record was an unmitigated disaster. his administration gutted critical environmental protections and institutions like the EPA, turning a blind eye to pollution and corporate exploitation of natural resources. this blatant disregard for the planet was a clear sign of prioritizing short-term corporate profits over the future of the environment.
AIDS crisis: reagan's gross neglect of the aids crisis was nothing short of criminal and this doesn't even begin to touch on his wife's involvement. his administration's indifference to the plight of the lgbtq+ community during this devastating epidemic revealed a deep-seated bigotry and a complete failure of moral leadership.
mental health: reagan's dismantling of mental health institutions under the guise of 'reform' led directly to a surge in homelessness and a lack of support for those with mental health issues. his policies were cruel and inhumane and showed a personality-defining callous disregard for the most vulnerable in society.
labor and unions: reagan's attack on labor unions, exemplified by his handling of the patco strike, was a blatant assault on workers' rights. his actions emboldened corporations to suppress union activities, leading to a significant erosion of workers' power and rights in the workplace. he was colloquially known as "Ronnie the Union Buster Reagan"
foreign policy and military interventions: reagan's foreign policy, particularly in latin america, was imperialist and ruthless. his administration's support for dictatorships and right-wing death squads under the guise of fighting "communism" showed a complete disregard for human rights and self-determination of other nations.
public health: yes, reagan's agricultural policies actually facilitated the rise of high fructose corn syrup, once again prioritizing corporate profits over public health. this shift in the food industry has had lasting negative impacts on health, contributing to the obesity epidemic and other health issues.
privatization: reagan's push for privatization was a systematic dismantling of public services, transferring wealth and power to private corporations and further eroding the public's access to essential services.
education policies: his approach to education was more of an attack on public education than anything else, gutting funding and promoting policies that undermined equal access to quality education. this was, again, part of a broader agenda to maintain a status quo where the privileged remain in power.
this is just what i could come up with in a relatively short time and i did not even live under this man's presidency. the level at which ronald reagan has broken the united states truly can't be overstated.
