Also farmed honeybees aren’t endangered. Just putting that out there. Many native bees in many areas are facing problems but honeybees are not one of them. The things that do endanger farmed honeybees are things like pesticides and parasites, not starvation because the farmer is taking some of their excess honey.

Re: the egg thing, if you’re concerned about eating a potential chicken/duck, find someone who either keeps their roosters/drakes separate or just doesn’t have any. My mom would regularly give chicken eggs to people who specifically came to her because they knew her eggs were unfertilized (and yes, chickens will lay eggs, every day, even without a rooster around)
