Obsession posting on main but it really is incredible how well the whole thing is set up just in the first few minutes. The first shot is a POV from a woman's perspective as Bear talks at us and tells us his feelings. It cuts occasionally to the girl thinking this is cute but is clearly a little uncomfortable, only to learn that this person is not Nikki, but just some poor waitress who was on her break and who they presumably kinda roped into this. They don't even listen to her thoughts on the matter, start talking exclusively to each other, and then they just thank her and tell her she can go now and her entire break was apparently used up on their confession practice. Just kind of using women for an imagined scenario and not wondering what she might think about it even in the first five minutes. Incredible stuff.

I need to see it again to pinpoint the details but I really like how the opening scene of obsession (2026) is Bear practicing his confession with a diner waitress... like already you have a woman (who is not Nikki) fulfilling the role for her, saying the response she thinks Bear would like to hear, but the moment this woman gives her own opinion, offering genuine advice to Bear (something along the lines of buying Nikki something she likes, like her favorite candy, flowers, etc)... Bear disregards it... but then ends up using Ian's recommendation from this same conversation (calling Nikki "Freaky Nikki")... like god its all already right there

Why the fuck was the last season of Euphoria Christian propaganda. Why did I watch Lexi talk about how the Bible is a beautiful story full of answers. Why was the final scene an American flag flying over a religious fundamentalist house (presented as positive) and Rue saying "God bless us all".

seriously it was terrible and so obviously some sort of psyop. also why did the show make me want to hate Jules. she was always so sweet so kind to rue. now her behavior in the last season is just giving people an excuse to be transphobic. not to mention burry your gays is alive and well in 2026

anyways euphoria was an AMAZING miniseries that premiered and ended in 2019. it had 8 amazing episodes and 2 beautiful specials. i kinda wish they made more, but i acknowledge and respect that they only did those 10 episodes and never made any more :))

Last season of Euphoria really is so ugly and reflective of American society and rising conservatism rn. Nothing but shitty Bible propaganda, rampant anti-blackness, exploitation and humiliation of women and the abuse of sex workers shown to the audience for lurid thrills, one of the lesbian leads dead and another (the trans one) trapped in an outlandish D/s sugar baby relationship tormented and making art and chasing male approval….we live in HELL. It’s so obvious how much this season was injected with stupid ass misogynistic ass homophobic/transphobic ass fantasies and I HATE it.

Terrible. Rue was set up to die and there was no way out unless she was gonna end up in jail. No matter what she did it was over because of the plot lines they set out. She was doomed from the start but I do have to say that the writing was so bad that honestly they could have made it work. Everything was already so bad and all over the place that she could have escaped to that farm if they really wanted her too. Let's be real tho do we really want her living with the cult possibly on the lamb for ever? Maybe idk but we do t get to find out instead she died crying for her mom on Ali's couch.
