Food: chanterelle sauce

Every december since 1960 (or 57 on the radio), swedish public broadcasting runs an advent calendar with one episode every day through the 24th. (We celebrate on christmas eve.) They air in the morning before kids go to school, and i think they're rerun the same evening?

Most of the shows are kind of disposable after the 1st airing, but a few have become cult classics - i know several people who rewatch their favourite every december.

The new show each year comes with a paper calendar you can buy in grocery stores, featuring stuff from the story (usually the picture behind a... flap? idk what you call them? is a reference to that day's episode) When i was little they used to make a tie-in cd-rom game each year as well, with new content unlocking every day, but i think these days they just make a few little web games at most.

At this point all the nordic countries have their own TV and/or radio calendars, and i guess it's spread to Germany now too!
