Goddamit i hate this fucking post. I hate it because obviously if “twelve” followed the same pattern as the other teen numbers it wouldn’t be “twoteen” it would be “seconteen”. Think about it. It’s not “threeteen” it’s “thirteen” as in “third”. It’s not “fiveteen” it’s “fifteen” as in fifth. So with that in mind, you count “first, second, third, fourth, fifth,” and so on, so eleven would be “firsteen” and twelve would be “secondteen” or “seconteen”. “Firsteen, seconteen, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen….” It just drives me absolutely mad everytime i see this post that this obvious pattern was overlooked and i cant hold in my rage anymore.
The Dom should be praised too
Take care of your doms. Praise them. Make them feel cared for and loved. Or you don't deserve them.
This applies doubly, x10 tbh, to transfemme doms. You NEED to be nice to her, you NEED to let her know she is doing a good job. That transfemme dom might have a lot of issues with her self worth, she may have been used up and left a discarded husk so many times.
Sorry but I got sick of scrolling through the notes on this on desktop and seeing all the red usernames marked by shinigami eyes reblogging this.
I'm a transfemme dom and I'm proud of it. Take care of us. Love us.
not me getting emotional looking at a picture of my grandfather because I realized for the first time that his left eye is higher and deeper set than his right eye in the exact same way mine is, and it's a weird asymmetry that's always bothered me when looking at myself in pictures, but now it means that I'm like him
and here's a picture of him with a bazooka
1) your grandfather there looks like he’s on the military version of the Price is Right, modelling off the prize behind Door #1
2) “ #yes this is the same grandfather who was gaslit into joining the CIA “
??????????????????????????????????????????????????
ok so my great-grandparents moved to Hawaii before it became a state (so the Chinese Exclusion Act didn't apply) but it was still a territory and so my grandfather was born there as a U.S. citizen---when he was a teenager his dad took him to China as a kind of "get to know your roots" trip---but this coincided with Japan's invasion of mainland China during the Second Sino-Japanese War in which time they perpetrated a lot of war crimes---and my great-grandfather ended up "disappearing"---so my grandfather ended up orphaned and homeless in a foreign country---and he said "well, I probably should get a job" so he found his way to an American military base---the Americans were shocked that this ethnically Chinese, United States citizen, fluent in English, Mandarin, and some Cantonese just showed up on their doorstep---and instead of, you know, sending him safely back home to Hawaii where his 12 brothers and sisters still lived, they had this actual teenager start doing intelligence work for them---and he worked with a guy (unclear whether this man was also military) who promised, promised, promised that they would both find a way to Hawaii, but the second that their combined funds were enough for a ticket back, the guy stole all my grandfather's savings and vanished---so my grandfather ended up having to join the military permanently.
he was an incredibly funny guy, and for most of my childhood we'd meet up with him and my grandmother in Hawaii, and we'd visit the Starbucks that used to be the grocery store that his father owned, where he was actually born in one of the storage rooms, and we'd ask the baristas if they ever saw any ghosts there and they'd freak out and ask us how we knew about that.
every time we'd leave a restaurant this 70-year old, 5-foot-nothing Chinese man with probable dementia would turn out his pockets and show us the shit he stole from the restaurant we were literally just at while NONE of us noticed...and in retrospect, it was definitely the CIA training resurfacing after years of laying dormant. I miss him a lot.

being at work while your personal life is falling apart has to be among the top 3 worst human experiences. You’re at your absolute lowest and someone wants to circle back on an email…… unreal
wish life was as simple as stardew valley where i grow some vegetables and then some dancing apples build me a green house

Basically, increased co2 concentration in the air makes plants make more carbohydrates, but not take in more nutrients from the soil, so they grow faster but have a lower density of vitamins and minerals. Plus, they're "breathing" more efficiently and actually using slightly less water, so they're taking in even fewer nutrients. And the faster growth can't make up for the rates of damage due to climate instability (droughts, floods, extreme heat etc).
The research shows approximately a 3% drop in nutrient density since the 1980s, particularly in carbohydrate heavy crops (like most starchy staple foods), but so many people around the globe depend on those crops for over half their diet that it's very easy for them to fall into malnutrition without access to more expensive shit like enriched products, supplements, and even just fruits and vegetables. Like all the effects of the climate crisis, this impacts those least responsible first.
Learning that Pokemon Go was using user data to build model of the world that was then being sold to a military contractor to build a no-GPS positioning system for the newest generation of military drones has been incredibly heartbreaking. The more details that come out the more disturbed I become.
While this article is a lot more pro-military than I'd prefer (though unsurprising given the source) it still gives a pretty good summary of the situation.

Like so many people, one of my fondest memories was Pokemon Go with my friends in Summer 2016. This feels like a betrayal.

Continuing my watch of DS9
maybe this is not my place to say because I am monolingual, and I'm sure it's part of a larger, more nuanced discussion about visibility and accessibility on the internet, but I think it'd be cool if people posted in their native languages more instead of in english. I see people do it way more on other platforms than on tumblr which is almost exclusively in english
Hey everyone. There's a new youtube feature that rolled out just yesterday that's raising some privacy concerns.
People in the U.S., U.K., Brazil, and Singapore can now share videos and chat with friends directly within the YouTube app. The update bring
This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.
If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.
This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.
To turn this off:
Go to your youtube app settings
Go to Privacy
Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"
Trimming the source id (the stuff after the '?' in links) will also prevent this from happening.
In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…
And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.
This is Accessibility!
That's so amazing! It is unfortunate that so many people will need this, but very very cool that it exists
That other link seems to be broken.
Thank you so much for putting the working one!
I will add it to my original reblog as well.
