Okay- official review of Tomb Quest!

Negative-ish thoughts first: I feel like Ben should have been more present in the story. I get why they didn't want to/couldn't make him more of a character in-game but he felt more like a plot device than someone these characters really knew and, more importantly, were grieving. Also, Gary's motives were implied in the promo material to be mysterious and plot effecting and then that wasn't a thing hahaba third subplot would have been great honestly

But over all, I really loved it! The design was GREAT and the music is really good. I thought Kevin and Sammi were a fantastic platonic duo and seeing them reunited was genuinely super satisfying. I expected the romance plotline to feel sort of weak/hard to care about (a la Black Friday for myself) but it was played so comedic that I instantly loved it.

Not a huge narrative undertaking (kind of ironically) but a solid, super fun, catchy Star kid show!

Also- in recent shows I've noticed the humor leaning more and more towards lots of profanity as a punch line and "potty humor" and it's not that this show didn't use any of that but this is the first time since ore-Firebringer (a show I do deeply love) that it felt like it actually struck a balance and didn't over do it

#having Kevin be the main one going there helps a lot bc it's just but it's also a character choice it's not just woah someone cursed her #and the genuine hilarity of Kevin going 'did in cum?' is ONLY achieved through lack of over use #personal #starr watches tomb quest #tomb quest
