This Is Berk.

Some thoughts I have right now:

Obviously it’s just a first trailer and the game isn’t releasing until next year (it doesn’t specify when, just 2027) so hopefully the graphics will be improved upon

I’ll admit it’s jarring going from a snowy mountain to a hot summer resort but I guess at the same time it’s good they’re not just literally copying the exact same idea in terms of “hey let’s throw some teens on a snowy mountain!”

I think people tend to forget that UD is in fact very trope-y and the dialogue is very cringey at times - that’s kind of the point, it took a load of common stereotypical horror tropes (snowy mountain, cabin in the woods, psycho slasher, bitchy girl, jock guy, etc) and added a twist. I think this game is going to try to take the same route (eg. Couples getting it on, camera crew is filming a spooky documentary and not thinking anything bad will actually happen)

Peter Stomare is back which is great, although he was also in the UD movie that was apparently awful so…

I have to wonder what the point of adding that extra ending at the end of UD in the remake was about (the one with Sam) if she’s not going to be in this game, but MAYBE (maybe) she’s going to make a cameo and they’re keeping it secret to avoid spoiling the surprise?

I genuinely don’t know who is in this cast other than Dacre Montgomery and Neil Newbon (and Peter Stomare obviously), I should really check out the full cast list

I’m curious to know how this game is going to tie into Until Dawn - I really hope it’s not like the movie which had very little to do with what made the game so great (from what I’ve seen the movie was just a mid horror movie with the UD title slapped on it)
