just making it dead clear that this blog does not support russia's invasion of ukraine, however also fuck off with that shit if you are demonising regular russian civilians who have nothing to do with this and didnt want a war just as much as everyone else did. politicians are not an excuse for your xenophobia.
RANT:
Guess what? We finally got the gay rep we've been craving and hardly anyone is talking about it! Remember how obsessed we all were about that trite little nod Loki gave us? Like representation that amounted to literally one line!? Now we are finally being shown a wholesome, loving relationship with A LITERAL ON SCREEN KISS and so many of yall are sleeping on it!
Like I don't wanna say racism (unconscious or not) is the reason but it's really starting to feel that way. I can't help thinking if Phastos were one of your conventionally attractive white guys, I wouldn't have search for Benthos content like I do!
Seriously prove me wrong! I would LOVE to be proven wrong! I just wish people would be a little more hyped about marvels first actual gay couple :/
sometimes I see pictures from when I was younger and it makes me wonder why I spent so much time hating myself. sweet little baby me. I was still growing. I was still learning. I was still getting used to my own skin. I didnât deserve that
Mass cultural boycotts of Russian culture such as banning books by Dostoevsky, the Bolshoi, pulling Russian films from film festivals, operas, plays etc is extremely wrong because a disgraceful autocrat is carrying out atrocities that is not in the name of the Russian people. The bastardization and degrading of culture is always wrong and it can expand to wider barbarity and dehumanization. Censoring Russian art is not an anti-war position.Â

@ everybody who commented saying ânooo you shouldnât learn X online, youâll develop bad habits and never master it!â:
I did not share these links so that you could achieve commercial success in them. I shared these links so that you can learn to play the piano for children and talk to your Japanese neighbor in her native language and try ballet lessons at 26 when you couldnât afford them growing up. Not all learning is undertaken with the goal of mastery.
Besides, many people donât have access to the free time, money, or resources required to develop âproper techniques.â And no, you will not âseriously injure yourselfâ trying out basic exercises on YouTube. Just let people be bad at new things and mind your own business.
Also yes, I do know the French link is broken. Genuine thank you to the fourteen (!) people who told me. Here you go.
so can we start hunting down white liberals now or what
The full picture is even more heart breaking after you open the uncropped version. Just a heads-up, it's rough
âThe Roman Catholic Parish in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was just grafitted.â
Nah letâs post it. Letâs feel it. Donât look away.
I notice alot of my followers on here skipping these posts just to mess with my lgbt ones, suspiciously the white popular ones.
Heres a not so friendly reminder, as an lgbt metis person, i dont give a single fuck what your blog is themed or if this is too painful for you to look at. Reblog this post. Reblog this post with the sources of the 751 children who were found.
Your compliance and silence as well as the compliance and silence of your ancestors is what allowed these schools to open and kill first nations children. The children of MY people.
Dont follow me if you cant reblog this post or the one with sources to your political blog or your most popular blog. Add trigger warnings if you must but if your political blog is only focused on the harms you personally face like being lgbt then you need to see some bigger pictures and stop being afraid of angering your racist mutural or actually saying some shit about racism. If you can reblog some antifa graphics or add blm to your bio to be a surface level ally, you can reblog some sources on the genocide first nations people faced and still face today.
They were CHILDREN.
They were murdered in cold blood.
Iâd like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldnât have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how âgreatâ they were.
Hereâs another photo of the legislative assembly from yesterday. Later on there were more items, candles and signs at the memorial, as well as a big poster with 1505 painted on it but I didnât get a picture
People need to see this. Not just quickly glance at the photos and keep on scrolling. They need to see this.
Reblog this or just stop following me
I had seen the first picture of the church, but not the second.
I went to a âCancel Canada Dayâ event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.
This is my countryâs legacy - and itâs not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.
They were all children, injured, abused, and killed in my countryâs attempt to erase them. I want the world to see this and hold the state accountable to *active* reconciliation> I mean we could at least truly adopt UNDRIP in action instead of words for godâs sake.
i just said the same thing on twitter but please please please consider standing up for remote learning options even if everything does somehow go back to normal. so many physically disabled people drop out of school/college because of inaccessibilty. we have been asking for an option like this for so long and keeping it would change the lives of sooooo many people. we have an opportunity to start reforming the educational system to be more accessible to disabled and poor people and i really dont want to lose remote options because ableds are too lazy to keep hosting video calls.
this is okay to reblog but physically abled ppl be quiet!
not to be maya on side but please do not call someone or something âmayanâ when talking about our people, culture, etc. âmayanâ refers to our language family (a language FAMILY, in which there are plenty of unique languages). we are the maya, not the mayans. i am maya, not mayan

Story time: Iâm a trans guy. I have an identical twin. Weâre both tall, androgynous, and have naturally deep voices
In high school a rumor was spread that one of us was trans. For years, everyone in school had convinced themselves that my twin was âthe trans oneâ. She rolled with it to keep me safe, and said it felt like a compliment to be mistaken for a trans woman since she looked up to a lot of trans women. That didnât stop the bullying, but itâs easier to deal with when itâs directed at the wrong person. Iâm engaged to a feminine cis guy who is several inches shorter than me. I have 20-30lbs on him and I can dead lift him. Heâs more delicate and soft both physically and socially. He cries during sad movies, owns half a million stuffed animals, and clings to my arm when heâs nervous or itâs cold out (oh yeah, also heâs adorable) Whenever the topic of being trans comes up, cis people tend to think heâs the one who is trans. Direct all âwhat do your parents think?â comments onto him. Completely ignore me. Ask him invasive/transphobic questions about his body. Tell him âyou pass so well!â through grit teeth. Like with my sister, I get pretty pissed about this, but thereâs not much I can do about it. I have had to argue with cis people to establish the fact Iâm trans because they donât believe me & think Iâm joking. theyâre like âbut heâs - no, sheâs trans!â and frantically point fingers at my fiance and sister. Because thereâs no way an adult cis woman could be taller than 5â˛9 and choose to be bare-faced, and an adult cis man could love How To Train Your Dragon 2 with a fiery passion, enough to watch it 3 times in the theatre. Terfs take one look at us and try to convince my sister sheâll never have a uterus or that sheâs âappropriating womenâs spacesâ. Transphobes say my boyfriend will âalways be a girlâ and call him gendered slurs. They talk over them, block them, and grill them about what genitalia they have online. Completely unknowing that theyâre talking to two cisgender people who are gay and gnc. @ young, closeted, scared trans people: any cis person who insists they can somehow âknowâ your âbirth sexâ by looking at you because âitâs so obvious!â is full of shit. people come in all shapes and sizes regardless of gender. Not only are they being transphobic, but theyâre being homophobic too.

Yâall....this white man went and lived in India for 6 months where he âdiscoveredâ masala chai and decided to make his own version that he now sells and calls.....mud water. I shit you not thats the brand name.
Aside from picking the most culturally insensitive name ever, heâs marketing this as if itâs a whole new creation. A brand new âcoffee substituteâ while In reality itâs literally just masala chai with some ground up mushrooms and cacao thrown in for foolishness. Like congratulations, you made weird masala tea and named it mud water.
âSo I set out to make something betterâ TEA! You made a cup of tea bitch. This man writes like he reinvented the wheel instead of just putting mushrooms in tea
He describes the tea vendors as being âdressed in ragsâ but in the commercial where he shows footage of himself being served tea, the vendors look like this?
Clothes.......these are clothes but somehow this man has come up with mud water and rags
Tskhkstjwkjdni under his recipe section. This is literally tea and honey.
white people stop fucking up masala chai challenge.
my blood is boiling
This is so stupid

Letâs not forget to acknowledge Alexandre Dumas this Black History Month
The writer of two of the most well known stories worldwide, The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo was a black man.Â
Thatâs excellence.
Letâs not forget that he was played on screen by a white man. And the fact that he was black is barely ever mentioned or the book he wrote inspired by his experiences.
Other things not to forget about Alexandre Dumas:
chose to take on his slave grandmotherâs last name, Dumas, like his father did before him.
grew up too poor for formal education, so was largely self-taught, including becoming a prolific reader, multilingual, well-travelled, and a foodie, resulting in his writing both a combination encyclopedia/cookbook (which justâ is fucking outrageous to me) AND the adaptation of The Nutcracker on which Tchaikovsky based his ballet
he also wrote a LOOOOT of nonfiction and fiction about history, politics, and revolution, bc he was pro-monarchy, but a radical cuss, and that got him in a lot of hot water at home and abroad.
even beyond that, he generally put up with a lot of racist bullshit in France, so he went and wrote a novel about colonialism and a BLATANTLY self-insert anti-slavery vigilante hero (which he then cribbed from to write the Count of Monte Cristo, the main character of which, Edmond DantĂŠs, Dumas also based on himself).
(âŚa novel which also features a LOAD of PoC beyond the Count, and at LEAST one queer character, btw, bc EVERY MOVIE ADAPTATION OF ANYTHING BY DUMAS IS A LIE; seriously, at LEAST one of the four Musketeers is Black, y'all.)
famously, when some fuckshit or other wanted to come at Dumas with some anti-Black foolishness, Dumas replied, âMy father was a mulatto, my grandfather was a Negro, and my great-grandfather a monkey. You see, Sir, my family starts where yours ends.â
for the bicentennial of his birthday, Pres. Jacques Cirac was like, ââŚsorry about the hella racism,â and had Dumasâs ashes reinterred at the PanthĂŠon of Paris, bc if youâre gonna keep the corpses of the cream of the crop all together, Dumasâs more widely read and translated than literally everybody else.
and they are still finding stuff old dude wrote, seriously; like discovering âlostâ works as recently as 2002, publishing stuff for the first time as recently as 2005.

Christopher is my favorite chaotic asexual
i think the problem i'm coming up against a lot here with other white people is that we tend to think of racism as a fixed point - u either are or are not racist. but it's so much more complex than that! firstly, we exist in racist societies with varying degrees of white supremacy depending on where u live and what culture u were raised in. then there's personal identity; for the most part, white people don't want to identify as racist. and while this is all going on, we participate - willfully or not - racist systems of governance and culture that produce ideas, tropes, caricatures, and narratives that crop up in media. so when someone says 'hey, that thing u just wrote is racist', white people interpret that as 'hey, u are racist', which. really isn't the point. what matters here is recognising where u exist on this spectrum of racist behaviour and whether or not ur working towards undoing the lessons u've been taught
the issue here is also that discussions of racism, in order to be fruitful, demand a decentering of the white psyche. criticism like "hey, you did something racist" is interpreted first and foremost as "oh no, (they said) i'm racist" instead of "oh no, i hurt someone with my racist action". and then subsequently the ensuing discourse continues to center white feelings and white reaction and white anger and white allyship. the initial critique is pushed aside in favor of a new discussion that is seemingly about racism but in practice ends up being about how to talk about racism. over and over again this vicious cycle mostly ensures that instead of addressing problems we spend most of our time having semantic debates and reassuring fragile egos.
this is particularly evident when observing how white folks react to posts about racist behavior that do not center their intentions or their feelings. even the most civil, nuanced take will inevitably be read as an absolutist, tyrannical demand. pleas for awareness and introspection, because they focus on the effect casual racism has on its audience and not on the person enacting it make white people uncomfortable in a way they usually cannot quite verbalize. because this criticism of racist subtext does not bother itself with intent, it strips white people of agency in a way that they are unused to. it tells white people that for a minute what they think and what they want and the reasons behind their choices do not matter. and this is perceived as an attack. generally, if we're being honest, the prioritization of racialized perspectives is perceived as an act of aggression.
the first step on the long, arduous path of anti-racism is the negation of the ego. you need to swallow your pride. you need to accept that you will fuck up, and that it will feel shitty, and that this will happen many, many times. it's this acceptance that allows us to learn and grow and become better human beings. if you are reading all this and scoffing to yourself because after all this is "just" about fandom discourse, think of it this way: if this is how people react to something as objectively small and inconsequent as fanfic tropes, i don't want to imagine how they deal with concrete instances of racism that demand much more discomfort to face and deconstruct, and have material, devastating consequences.
