"Being kind is punk" you need to learn to do good things without it being tied to a social status or subculture
i know it pisses some people off but i find it fun that most websites use the US flag for english and the brazillian flag for portuguese. kind of awesome. sorry england and portugal you colonized too hard so you dont get to own your language anymore. you gave it up to the americas. sucks to suck. go brazil.
I do think it's incredibly funny to put a spoiler on a little beep beep grandmamobile that you only drive to the farmer's market and movie theater
same vibe

florida natural spring water
Cat paw prints in the medieval floor tiles of the 12th century CE St Peter Church in Wormleighton, England
if you see me liking contradicting headcanons for the same character just know it's because I do not give a fuck and I have an active imagination #hewouldsaythat
sometimes it’s not about ‘would he say that or do that’ it’s more like that would be hilarious if he did because I have a jester’s heart
the way we went from azt to yeztugo in my lifetime is still astonishing to me! what an era!!

frankenstein's monster shoulda been listening to house music
I'm back. This is from before where I left off, but no one's been able to identify these sculptural teardrop dagger-like earrings on the fashion blogs, and I would rather start on a positive note (research) than straight back into Andy sabotaging everybody she know's jobs to anyone who will listen.
Luna de Sangre's Hecate earrings have a similar shape, as do these Lucy Farnsworth-inspired pendulum drop earrings, along with other examples of Victorian-era Etruscan revival amphora shaped earrings (not linking bc those are antiques, you'll have to search any time you want to buy something like this anyway).
AliExpress has the unbranded dupes of Andy's Paco Rabanne Iconic Nano 1969 bag. Just reverse image search, they're like $20-$40. Cute party purse. There's also diff shapes, colors, embellishments, etc. available.
The blue eyeshadow she has on in this scene is very Liza Minelli, I know people say Hathaway favors Judy, but this is Liza.
Then some movie CPR where no one is touching the patient's chest and no one calls 911 happens. I very much did laugh.
The catty banter at and following the funeral is significantly better than a lot of the other "mean" dialogue has been, or, at least, feels more realistic to how I know artsy and fashion people to act around death, especially once it means your job is destabilized.
Meryl Streep in this goddamn hideous "Went With The Wind" ass tassel coat and everybody in trendy but exceedingly uniform thick rimmed acetate prescription glasses (save for Irv, RIP). One of the suits pronouncing EBITDA as "EE-ba-duh." Technically correct, but ghastly. Like, okay, Nicolas Cage in The Croods.
Andy in the big fucking Chanel boots. And her writer friend who is perpetually in a dusty ass Yankees cap with pens free-balling in his shirt, no pocket protector.
All of these are caricatures, semi accurate caricatures, and I get that the thesis is "private equity and tech bros are evil," but Jesus Christ.
Nigel has a beautiful tie pin, though. Lee Renée Peacock Pearl & Ruby. He also has an amazing, HUGE, GORGEOUS carnelian ring, which I saw a jeweler selling a replica of here. Let's focus on what's important.
I am reminded, every time I see beautiful aerial shots of lovely cityscapes and things, that all of these are shot generally with helicopters and drones. People love dogpiling celebrities as "climate terrorists" for using private jets when private aviation is only something like, 0.4% of carbon emissions worldwide, and commercial use for productions like this is in a significantly larger bucket, to say nothing of flying casts, crews, etc. out to locations to shoot anyway. Obviously neither industry niche there has anything on commercial freight by land, air, or sea, heating/cooling, things like water treatment, or military carbon footprints, but it's just fascinating the little places people stockpile and land their contempt.
I think it stands out more for being a movie about rich fashion people jetting around doing rich fashion people things, with a significantly larger footprint than those rich fashion people things in real life, but, like, nobody on the pop culture corners of the Internet can shut up about people like Taylor Swift and Law Roach while not questioning it for a second if they're entertained or if it's someone they like. They love to hate the artists rather than the people who sign their checks, but they still adore the spectacle.
Anyway, Simone Ashley looks gorgeous, but there's nothing she's wearing that I particularly want. And the overwrought Bezos-Sánchez-Wintour corpo takeover of it all is getting a bit ham-fisted for my taste. Like why are we having these conversations? Why are these hotels giving out people's room numbers? Why is Andy's sequin vest outfit even more Cabaret than her last two point five Liza looks? Good lord. Anyway.
As I already said. André Leon Talley is dead. And this type of saccharine revisionism in Armani Privé, Tucci in a velvet blazer and fuckass bow tie, and a VS Fashion Show style live runway performance is nothing but a posthumous fuck you with a cheeeeesy ribbon tied around it for a "happy ending." Not much else to say.
A moment for the Dellaluna Louvre Abu Dhabi clutch, and the Jacquemus Pochette Rond Carré in python (saw this in early pics but I believe it was cut from the movie). Honorable mention to the Dolce & Gabbana Marlene shoulder bag in pony, and the Mercedes Mayback S-class Miranda used as a private car that apparently costs $250,000 fucking USD (not pictured).
