Rewatching Kids on the Slope and that story would have hit so much harder as a queer narrative with Kaoru and Sentaro being gay but desperately trying to comphet themselves into liking the girls and RItsuko as they lesbian friend who just wants everyone to be happy and true to themselves.

I know it's a bit tired to headcanon straight stories as queer when there are so many intentionally queer ones to chose from but there's something about the way they animate the scenes between Kaoru and Sentaro that feels more intimate than any scene they have with either of their canon crushes.

My Date Everything theory is that Lux is the way they are because the devs needed to introduce Reggie to the player. Like, even with the dateables I absolutely detest, there has been some sort of thing that makes me think "this is a person I might like to talk to if I'm in the mood". Lux is just... the personification of every gay person who's called a woman "bitch" and tried to escape accountability by calling it their culture.

Brandon Sanderson is interesting because in the majority of his body of work (especially his main cosmere universe) he kind of sits down across from you and says,

speaking of Spanish, I was helping some museum guests in Spanish a week ago (I can't talk about the history but I can like. sell tickets and give directions and ask how their trip is going) and my boss walked by

he came back later and said, with a thoughtful expression, "did I just hear you speaking fluent Spanish?"

A. JAJAJAJAJAJA absolutely not. conversational at best and I don't know most history-related vocab, like I said

I find it very amusing how monolingual English speakers will call anyone who can string a full sentence in a foreign language together "fluent", but when they hear a non-native speaker use fluent English they always give the most condescending compliment one can imagine.

I'm not shocked by the fact that Hoid has kids i actually think he would be a great dad (mind you im not saying the twins wouldn't have a butt ton of trauma and A LOT of issues).

I'm just surprised that someone agreed to marry him, much less have kids with that man. Like, are they okay??? Mentally speaking?

Iirc he says "my wife" and "the twins," I would not be surprised if the latter is a fakeout and Sanderson is just foreshadowing dual protags for mistborn era 72 or something. But equally would not be surprised if stormlight two ends with two little Witlings that are absolute rosharan allomancer menaces.

To my absolute horror, Brandon has confirmed that, yes, the twins are Hoid's actual kids. As for the Witlings, I would love it if that was true bc it would be sooo fucking funny dude.

I totally agree with you - I see them getting back together in like a couple of hundreds of years after Hoid has managed to become less of a mess, and Jasnah has had the "so you're telling me not finding people hot is... a thing?? like a sexual orientation?? that explains so so so much" realization.

But also some people will pay good money to erase the memory of Hoid from their minds.
