thinking about that anon i got a million years ago when i made a post explaining the difference between platonic/sexual/romantic attraction that was like "your definition of romance wasnt emotional enough... i dont think it's your place to define romance as an aro person you shouldve asked an allo person to do it..." ?????!????!?!?!????!??!!?!?!?!?

not to tell people what to do but as someone who’s been in fandom since i was like twelve, i promise that the only good fandom experience involves limiting your friend circle to, like, seven people. when you’re in a city, you don’t make friends with every douchebag on the street. stringently vet the people who are allowed to influence you. in an age of people and companies constantly demanding your attention and energy, your happiness will grow best like flowers in a greenhouse in a terrible city; a contained, curated space allows happiness to flourish. keep it small and don’t be sorry to tell people to stay the fuck out of your greenhouse.

An underdiscussed aspect of Feruchemical Steel is the vertical. Like let’s say you fell off a cliff and were about to plummet to your doom. As a Steelrunner all you’d have to do is store all your speed at once and then wait for someone to help you back up. From what I can tell I don’t see how speed would be distinguished between the ground and air. This isn’t like Feruchemical Iron where the weight of something is irrelevant to the rate it falls, speed by its nature seems to be something more “mystical” seeing as what we’d ordinarily ascribe to greater speed (stronger muscles, high energy storage, etc.) are covered by other metals. Steel seems to be something more akin to DC’s speed force rather than something that physically alters the Feruchemist’s physiology. So with that said I’ll choose to imagine that Feruchemical Steel’s the optimal fall safety kit.

I mean feruchemical iron very much can be used to protect from falls. Storing weight and spreading out your limbs can allow you to fall slower and not get hurt. Though steel very likely could be used to stall your falling

In hindsight my phrasing’s off, Feruchemical weight definitely has a part to play in the effects of wind resistance against your fall. A more accurate example probably would’ve been Feruchemical Pewter: tapping it PHYSICALLY enlarges your muscles. Feruchemical Iron and Steel in this sense are actually more similar than I initially said: they store how your body exists within a physical space (gravity’s perception of you as something to attract vs. the rate at which motion is possible)

my beige flag is that i refuse to acknowledge my iron deficiency and think im better than it so when i stand up and get dizzy i will attempt to keep walking until i inevitably faint or fall and i have a ton of bruises from this
