Actually yes my partner was denied treatment in his old state before moving to mine. His therapist he was seeing tried to refer him to a dissociative disorder specialist. He fits all the criteria but because he mentioned a specific type of alter which the therapist mentioned to this specialist he laughed them out of the clinic calling my partner a trending faker like the Endo groups off TikTok.
My partner has been misdiagnosed with every disorder DID can be misdiagnosed for, he has been wrongly and was illegally medicated for childhood schizophrenia he did not fucking have which has caused long term side effects.
My partner was forced to undergo exorcisms, had his autism mistaken as being possessed by demons, was physically abused, misdiagnosed with BPD and other disorders he later in life was told he does not have. Yet my partner was not taken seriously by a professional because he happened to use a word for a particular type of alter the endogenic community coined which the online system community has normalized the use of.
