MARVEL RELEASE THAT SCENE RIGHT NOW
I'm so excited to finally draw Oscar Isaac! He's been requested like a million times, so here you have two Oscars at once😎 I will definitely draw more, the Moon Knight was great, loved it, though I haven't seen the finale yet
Man, I SO want to read MK fanfic, but there's not a lot to choose from if you don't like reader inserts and don't ship Marc/Steven. Sigh.
Let's just leave them as friends.
“Awkwafina’s Katy has never been one to let herself be put in a box, and, as such, relegating her to a love-interest role would be the opposite of character development. She would feel like Shang-Chi’s “plus one,” rather than an impressive and capable woman in her own right.”
(Excerpt from the above article)
It isn’t that I’m opposed to people who prefer them as friends. If that’s the vibe you see, and you don’t want to see them pair up as a couple romantically, I respect that.
But I strongly object to the idea that becoming romantically involved automatically means that she loses all agency and that it undermines all previous character development. WHY is becoming romantic with someone, a step backwards for a female character? It’s a perpetuation of the idea that for a woman to be a strong character she has to be alone. And I’m frankly sick of it.
This, right here. Ship them or do not ship them, whatever the fuck you want, but saying that Katy can't be her own person if she and Shang-Chi end up together is frankly stupid. Diana (as in Wonder Woman) didn't stop being awesome and badass just because of her romance with Steve Trevor. If they don't fuck it up (looking at Bruce/Natasha and Steve/Sharon here), it could be wonderful.
BUT WE NEED MORE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS LIKE THEIRS. We already have platonic relationships in the MCU. We also need more romantic relationships with a foundation as strong as theirs. And frankly, this thing where people claim I HOPE THEY REMAIN FRIENDS but had no problem whatsoever with Tony/Pepper or Steve/Peggy, for example, is very telling.

Cancel culture sucks so, so hard. Because it implies once you've done or said something bad or problematic, people will be judging you for that for the rest of your life. It also implies that you have no right to change the way you think or to grow as a person. Screw up just one time, no stairway to heaven for you, but hey, here you have your highway to hell.
I'm not Catholic, but there's this Bible verse that seems fitting in this case: "Let he who has not sinned throw the first stone." And since at this point, there's a lot of people throwing stones, I have to guess all of them are perfect, have never made any mistake at all, and are surrounded by such righteous people they have already secured a place in heaven.
The fact is, I'm pretty sure no one would have lost their time looking for incriminating comments if Shang-Chi had been a flop. That's the way it is. The same would have happened with the famous James Gunn tweets. It's not by chance that he was targeted after being so vocal against Trump, and we should have learned something from that. Let's stop being naive, people. Those posts could have resurfaced after Simu was cast as Shang-Chi, or before the movie was released. But no, they see the light when the movie has been in cinemas for two weeks, has been universally praised, and is doing quite well, taking into account the context of the pandemic. Oh, and the main character happens to be an Asian man. If you think this has nothing to do with anything, well. Think again.
Did he say some pretty ugly things? Yes. For example, the volleyball thing especially stung, because women have been fighting against that way of thinking for decades. Was it misogynistic? Obviously. But guess what? We live in a misogynistic society. We ALL have those ideas or thoughts, every once in a while (yes, even women), because that's what we saw while growing up, and those ideas tend to stick with us. De-learning them is not that easy (watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjJQBjWYDTs It explains perfectly what I try to say).
Just stop putting people on pedestals. If you expect perfection from someone you stan, you're bound to end up disappointed, because no one is perfect (not even you, reading this and thinking you haven't had a single problematic thought in your whole life. Don't lie to yourself).
And above all, let people grow and learn from their mistakes.
i think about this a lot
The guy got his life and career destroyed by his divorce, cut him some slack.
he was also sexually assaulted by a man who could destroy his career
protect him
reblog if the man on the right is just as beautiful as the man on the left
people grow old? like, that’s a thing that happens? leave my guy alone.
This man deserves everything let him he happy
Ok… This is what happened to Fraser
-His wife ditched him and asked for 900k a year,
-He was sexually assaulted which he said kicked him into a deep depression
-He stated that the stunts from the 3rd Mummy movie completely destroyed his body and he was in and out of the hospital for 7 years even having to get surgery to repair his vocal cords.
-He apparently blamed himself for all this which only worsened his depression.
This man has literally been through hell this past decade so please lets cut him some slack and wish him the best
All this but also that picture on the right is a really bad paparazzi photo compared with a professional quality movie promo still. No one looks good when some random person snaps you on the street, regardless of who you are.
Compare with this image from the GQ article last February:
Proper lighting, professional setting, good angles etc.
The dude is 49 and has had a rough couple of decades, but he’s still lovely to look at, and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.
Plus, now he’s in Doom Patrol, which makes me happy af.
And let’s not forget he was probably slightly to severely dehydrated to look that buff in he first photo. And I’m so pleased he got work again he seems like a good sort, and from the stealth pilot in Titans, Doom Patrol looks like it should be good.
It shouldn’t even matter what he’s been through. Body shaming of ANYONE is wrong.
ALL OF THIS
Plus
2019 Brendan is still slaying, so btfu
This post keeps getting better and I’m here for it
I love this whole thread
The last time I saw this it was only at the first ‘cut him some slack’ part and it just progressively gets better each time.
We support this Brendan Fraser in this home
I’ll say it again, the blue sweater photo in the OP was chosen because it was the most unflattering photo of him from that day. It’s a hatchet job! The same day:
I mean, look at this adorable face:
he looks like a really kind dad who would give good hugs and watch rubbish movies with me
Every time I see this it’s 1000 times better.
ALWAYS REBLOG to protect this man. He deserves it.
Must be protected at all costs.
Protect Brendan Fraser.
he has a daddy belly in that last pic omgggg <33333333
Leave this precious angel baby alone!
👏🏼👏🏼
Don’t come for this man. Ever.
he’s coming back y'all! he’s got his first acting job in a while but he knows the internet supports him!!
In this house we love and respect Brendan Fraser ❤️

Enchanted.
When you think the antis are the majority because of how awfully loud and annoying they are, remember this:
These are the stats of the Youtube video of the kiss with the most views. As you can see, 7553 people voted, but only 138 of those votes were negative (1.83%)
In IMDB's case, we have 16856 votes with an average note of 8.9 for the finale (for comparison, the WandaVision episode got 8.4 and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier got 7.8).
So yes, there's that. The finale hate is not a "general audience" thing, it's a Twitter and Tumblr thing. Just ignore antis when they claim EVERYBODY HATED THE FINALE, BAD RATINGS, etc because it's blatantly untrue.
Loki's fandom misunderstands his show
The thing about Loki the series is this: I'm absolutely convinced that this is Tom Hiddleston in total control of this character, despite his insistence that he's only the actor who plays him and it was all these other people who created this show with just a skosh of input from him. I'm not saying he sat anyone down and made them rewrite the scripts to his specifications, I'm just saying he has definite influence over the direction of the show.
Tom's wildly charismatic and beloved wherever he goes, and we know he is obsessive about Loki and talks about Loki at any given opportunity. He's a leader and a role model on set. He plays music, brings in food trucks, runs and exercises between takes. He knows everyone's names, makes sure each and every actor gets what they need to do their best job, and is instantly hugged by his co-stars at public functions.
Loki is Hiddleston's world, and we're all living in it. I don't think anyone would work on this show without wanting his approval and feedback on everything. Some charismatic leaders use their powers for evil, but Tom always uses them for good.
S1 of Loki is Tom wiping Loki's slate relatively clean by removing him from reality and allowing him a chance to start over and become whoever he wants to be. Of course Loki still has his baggage, his insecurities, and his many demons. This is why Hiddleston relishes the role, especially the emotional reaction scenes. He lives for this shit.
This "new" Loki is almost literally new. He's like a child in a way, but like the way Kid Loki was a child in the comics. He remembers his past life but feels a detachment from it now. Sometimes he can pretend all of that was someone else.
I think he's telling Loki's story the way he wants to, and he's taking his sweet time about it. There will be no quick and easy emotional payoff. Character growth will happen in stages over time. Hiddleston is thorough and not afraid to go the long way. The first 6 episodes are more of a prologue than a first chapter. The rumors say that the first season was supposed to be 12 episodes long (presumably with a mid-season break halfway through) before the pandemic halted production so the cliffhanger makes total sense.
Anyway, what I'm saying is, this show might have certain things it needs to do for MCU continuity with the Multiverse and the TVA and Kang and all that, but the story that frames all that is Loki's. The show might not seem to be all about him as an individual character, but that's because he's in development and learning how to be a person instead of a god, a prince, or a son of Odin. That necessitates other well-developed characters for him to learn from, including the other Lokis and other "villains".
Tom is humble to a fault. He's always directing attention to other people and refusing to hog the spotlight. Do you think any other major star would let Jonathan Majors run away with the season finale of their own show? Allow Richard E. Grant to take the Big Loki Moment of S1? Give a relatively unknown actress so much focus in the first season in order to illustrate the many sides of this character? Share scenes with a kid AND a cute lokigator? For Tom Hiddleston, the work itself comes first and fame is best used as a way of helping others.
So despite the fact that Loki feels more like Hiddleston himself than he ever has before, that he's energetic, boyish, cheerful, curious, and a bit silly, I'm more than willing to go along this strange ride to see inside Tom's brain at who Loki is to him. Hell, if Hemsworth can rework his own iconic character, why shouldn't Hiddleston? This is Loki from Tom's headcanon, not the fandom's. It's a story worth waiting for and being patient with. He didn't create the plot of the series, but the character is all him.
