If My Hero Academia Had Pokémon - Uraraka
When choosing Pokemon I’ve gone off aesthetics, personality, lore, but most importantly: vibes.
Kind, grounded, determined
Butterfree - Caterpie was the first Pokémon she ever caught, she researched for a long time before deciding on this one to use her only pokeball on, and now she has a Butterfree. She obviously had to have flying types, being a bug type helps with some type variation too, it’s also a relatively easy/basic Pokémon to have access to. It almost matches her outfit too.
Sylveon - Eevee was her starter Pokemon, not because it was given to her like a lot of other children, but because she looked after it when it was injured. She didn’t have a pokeball at the time anyway, but they enjoyed each other’s company and it stayed. Through friendship it evolved into Sylveon. Fairy type suits her, it’s whimsical, a lot of the mons are sweet and pink, so very much her vibes.
Blissey - I dunno how she got this mon but it suits her. It has a caring nature and so does Uraraka.
Wooloo - it has her vibes I dunno what else to say. I think she would have a normal type. I can imagine it was a gift to her from someone her parents worked with, perhaps they were downsizing and spared one for her, especially since it’s not necessarily a rare or “expensive/valuable” Pokémon, but it’s all about how you use what you’ve got.
Flamigo - a fighting type, something Gunhead would be proud of, but still in keeping with her aesthetic.
Togekiss - I imagine she found Togepi as an egg when she was younger, it was abandoned but she kept checking on it, just in case the Pokémon who left it came back for it, but they didn’t and then it hatched. It took a long time for it to evolve to a Togekiss. Flying fairy feels synonymous with Uravity.
Does she nickname her Pokemon? No, but not because she doesn’t necessarily want to, it’s that she doesn’t believe she could come up with a nicer/cuter/better name than they already have. They also evolve, so a name she might choose at the start might not work at the end of their evolution line and she wouldn’t want to confuse them. I think when she chooses her Hero name, she would consult with her Pokémon team and see if they wanted new names.
