I've seen and reblogged this before but we should add fake nails to the list of makeup and femininity rituals that hold women back from the pleasures of living. the fact you have to actively spend time reteaching yourself how to do simple activities such as open a bottle or wipe your ass is fucking weird and a waste of time even if you manage to get it down. how in the world do you do any meaningful quality time? you can't do a lot of shit with those nails. you would have trouble doing many exercises that require a lot of hand movements and usage since you have to be hyperaware of your nails, you can't play an instrument, you can't easily read a book, you can't bake and cook complex recipes without worrying about the hygiene of your fake nails and them getting in the way of hands on dishes, you can't make any crafts, like what exactly are you allowed to do easily except maybe scroll on your phone? what ways does having these ugly ass nails actually enrich your life instead of being a huge hinderence. even if most women don't have their nails to such an extreme such as this lady, most of my friends who get fake nails still don't participate much in quality time and hobbies that might "chip or break" their nails they dropped ridiculous amounts of money for. its so unnecessary, women need to stop worrying about this shit.

It’s not actually a good thing that some women feel pressured to get breast implants or that some men feel pressured to get ab implants. It’s not a good thing that gender roles are imposed so heavily and strictly that it leads people to hating their natural bodies for not fitting some standard, and makes them want to surgically alter their bodies. Why are we hand waving this away as “teehee it’s just gender affirming care which is always fine and good and wonderful and completely politically neutral!” Instead of analysing and criticising this?? Why are we being so intellectually lazy and wilfully ignorant?

An analysis requires you to draw conclusions about the media such as authorial intent, real-world parallels, discussion about themes/worldbuilding/character motivation, and so much more. you seem confused. being against the sex work industry is not the same as being against sex workers. swerf stands for “sex worker exclusionary feminist”. i want to protect sex workers, not shun them. protecting them means making the sex work industry illegal, but decriminalizing it. target the pimps and johns/janes, not the sex workers. criminalizing sex work endangers sex workers. it keeps them from reporting abuse because they know it will only land them in prison.

What you’re describing is also known as the Nordic Model, supported by radical feminists. None of us shun sex workers. Many of us are or have been sex workers. Nobody is a swerf. Please learn literally any radical feminist theory before attacking us.

So annoying to me when people think citing the actions of FICTIONAL female characters counts as evidence that femininity doesn't hold women back. "Omg, she can run and fight with heels and a dress! And even if the actor is a real person, the scene is choreographed, rehearsed and edited with CGI. It's fake!
