As I was already not normal about, Honeycrisp was developed at the University of Minnesota and released in 1991. Snap Dragon was developed at Cornell University and released in 2013. Cosmic Crisp was developed at Washington State University and released in 2019. Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, and Red Delicious are much older varieties. Most people prefer the newer varieties that were cultivated with university and government level research.
