Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.
Concept for post chapter 5 Flowery. He needs a cane and is disabled due to his injury from the knight. Susie, Ralsei, and the flowers are taking care of him but none of them are actually gardeners themselves and he's not been able to heal well. Still wears the same outfit, now noticably stiched together. He's trying to keep a happy face for the other flowers but is going through a really rough time.
His cane is one of those plant support rods in the light world.

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).
Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

So, uuuh, Imma tell you a truth you need to chain to your brain for life: If you do not schedule maintainence for the machine, it will eventually do it for you. And it will take A LOT longer to fix when it decides it is time.
That covers all actual machines, and also your body and brain. Im full well into the burnout phase of my life, and I catch myself trying to force my way out of it, and it just makes it worse, and in turn it acts a lot like depression in that very little keeps your attention if at all, and trying to keep up with everything you need or want to is a fight.
Just be gracious to yourself when it happens, take things in little steps. Be sure to do the self care (brush your teeth, take your showers, do your chores) because everything is so much harder than it should be when burnout has you in its jaws shaking you about like a ragdoll.
~The only upside to being in the middle of burnout for me is that it has overwhelmed and shut down the anxiety portion of my depression, but that means deadlines/time important things carry zero emergency weight to give momentum to getting things done. Not the fix I wanted.~
