get yourself used to sleeping on your back (and possibly elevated depending on your surgeon) BEFORE surgery.

have cough drops on hand because your throat will probably be sore from the breathing tube they use with anesthesia.

Get and use straws. You'll have T-Rex arms for a while but you still need to hydrate.

the post surgery compression binder is more comfortable than youd think but it still gets pretty itchy. so dont be afraid to take benydryl, itll help you rest and stop the itch

sounds weird but try not to flex your pecs⌠watched a horror game play through and every time there was a jump scare my whole body tensed up including my pecs which hurt like a bitch

Have hand sanitizer/ body wipes incase you cannot reach across sinks easily and to also put under your armpits if you cannot get deodorant there

you might be numb in some areas affected by the surgery. especially if your surgeon does any liposuction along with just cutting your boobs off. right now my armpits are numb which makes cleaning them weird. less of a tip and more its normal for early in recovery

about a week in stuff starts to feel like pins and needles. i thought that meant my one nipple was falling off. turns out its the opposite and its them coming back to life. the post op compression binder while annoying does help the tingling feel less weird

you surgeon may be ripped to hell and back like mine and put the compression binder on super tight. ITS OK TO LOOSEN IT A LITTLE.
its there for compression to keep the swelling down but same rules apply as a regular binder: it might be a little uncomfortable and feel tight but you need to still be able to BREATHE

invest in a long pair of tongs or one of those claw grabber things. i just made ramen that was in a cabinet above the microwave. how? tippy toes and tongs.

You can buy little hair net looking guys at some major pharmacies that include shampoo and can be used to wash your hair in bed if youâre having trouble in the shower
(This is a general surgery tip but all my disabled friends swear by âem post surgery it makes your life much easier and you can feel properly clean)
top surgery tip 12) itâs okay to sleep on the couch or in a chair if itâs too difficult or painful to get in and out of bed. My couch plus a pile of throw pillows on either side of me was the perfect place to sit and simmer as I recovered. I also recommend getting one of those airplane pillows that go around your neck. very useful if you end up sleeping sitting up and donât want your neck to crick.

when it comes to scar care. anything is better than nothing. and you dont need to shell out hundreds of dollars for fancy scar creams. to massage your scars as long as everythings properly closed you can just grab an gentle unscented or naturally scented lotion and use that. shea butter, cocoa butter, bio oil the like. youre just looking for something for sensitive skin and thatll keep them hydrated.
14: suffering is not noble take the damn meds
14a: take them *before* doing the daily tube drain
15. Get yourself some short-sleeve button-down shirts to wear if you don't have them already because lifting your arms up to put a t-shirt on or take it off is just not gonna happen.
16. At some point during the healing process, your nipples (if you kept them) will scab over and look really gross. It's fine, they're fine, that's a normal part of the healing process, DO NOT PICK OR SCRUB THE SCABS OFF.
16a. Yes, you read right, you don't HAVE to keep your nipples if you'd rather have a cool lizard chest instead. That's an option.
17. If there's stuff you're gonna need that you can't lift with a grabber claw and it's normally on the floor or up on a shelf, move it to waist height. (But remember your lifting limit!!)
18. If you won't have someone to cook for you, pre-cook and freeze and/or refrigerate a week's worth of meals that you can pop into the microwave while you're high as fuck on painkillers.
19. To go along with baby wipes while you can't shower, dry shampoo is really great too.

An innocent man is home with his family instead of spending his kids' whole childhoods in jail for "resisting arrest" when none of the cops could agree on why he was being arrested in the first place. (But it definitely had nothing to do with him being a Black man in a nice car, honest! đ)
And it still took like two hours of delibration after we'd heard all the evidence because one lady was so gung ho about believing everything the cops said, even when not a single goddamn one could agree with their own testimony, let alone their colleagues'.
Pointing out all the inconsistencies and admitted misconduct and letting people slowly come to their own conclusions as the trial played out was fucking hard, I won't lie. I can be patient, but it doesn't come naturally to me.
But. Yelling about how this was obviously a bs case would have shut everyone down and made them stop listening. Asking questions and letting people discuss how the cops tried to make xyz sound suspicious but it was totally normal, or about how if things played out the way the cops said then logically events should have proceeded in a totally different direction, and positing different theories that actually lined up with the evidence presented?
That got people thinking, and everyone realized that for a variety of reasons we all had reasonable doubts that the defendent had committed any of the crimes of which he was accused.
Being able to raise reasonable doubt among a jury of one's peers saves lives. If you get the chance, take it.

Yeah you get it
one time i was making potato soup and i needed broth for it but i was out of broth. but in my dog food cabinet there was a carton of chicken broth that i had bought for my dog. now the box did say HUMAN GRADE and the ingredients were just bog standard chicken broth. it did say something about joint health for dogs on there. but the ingredients were normal. i even compared the ingredients list to some normal person broth and they were the same. so i did put dog broth in that soup and it did taste completely normal. but i did use the dog broth.
