I mean carl isn't a scientist. he's like a bodyguard. but that line of thinking, to me, sounds in line with grace's whole "there's nothing magical about oxygen and hydrogen" thing with water-based life. despite their different fields of experience and expertise, carl and grace are finding themselves on the same wavelength. and then they do epic and fun science together. friendship and joy and twizzlers and skittles and boxes in boxes and claps and sunglasses and foil and duct tape and carl and grace <3 happiness <3
