You're gender identity? why? I mean, penis isn't that bad . I stink it sometimes, like in my mouth an stuff. Not gay or anything though even though my mom says so. Merry Christmas dude
I really really like this ask. I really really really like this one
so many people post like they are from the dimension of No Misogyny because the misogyny all around them just registers to them as fine and normal
we are all posting from the dimension of No Misandry because we live on the planet earth

Hey, you, cis girl that's very (correctly) vocal about women being allowed to talk about their periods, do you include trans women in that?
I ask because every single time I've tried to talk about it to anyone that isn't a trans woman they get fucking angry. Which has caused me to have to just suffer in silence every single month. So I really relate to cis women when they talk about literally the exact same thing; being shamed by everyone around them their whole lives for talking about their periods, so they just suffer in silence every month as it negatively impacts their work and social lives. But I don't even feel like I can voice that I am literally dealing with the same exact thing because most of y'all react like you want to throw me in front of a bus for saying it, even those of you who act like your such big great transfem allies.
I guess I'll take this opportunity to talk about trans women periods. The first thing any tme person thinks when they hear this is always "how can trans women have periods? They don't have uteruses!"
The answer is: the uterus isn't what causes your period, it is effected by your period. What causes your period and what causes trans women's periods is the same thing: the endocrine system.
HRT changes the sex of your endocrine system. Feminizing HRT makes it a female endocrine system, giving us a 28-day hormone cycle just like cis women. At the end of that cycle, the hypothalamus floods the body with prostaglandins. Those are what cause all but one of the period symptoms, because they make muscles inflame and contract. They are what make the uterus shed its lining, they are what cause intestinal cramps, they are what cause body aches, they are what cause headaches and migraines. The only period symptom not causes by the release of prostaglandins throughout the body is depression, and that is caused by your endocrine system simply not processing as much estrogen and from simply feeling like shit.
So, the only symptoms trans women don't get every 28 days is menstrual cramps, because yes we do not menstruate since we don't have uteruses. But migraines, depression, body aches, intestinal cramps, and the infamous "period shits" don't exactly add up to us having any better of a time. Except we have to pretend that we're fine and nothing is different because no one believes that we get periods, not even cis women.
"But you can't call it a period then because that refers to MENSTRUATION!" is another one I hear all the time. This is incorrect. You use the word "period" instead of just "menstruation" because it doesn't just refer to menstruation. It refers to a period at the end of the hormone cycle where we experience a host of symptoms. And not all cis women experience all of the symptoms that encompass the period. Not all cis women get migraines, or body aches, or have severe depression. If a cis woman gets a hysterectomy she doesn't menstruate either! In that instance she experiences an identical period to what trans women experience. Yet, I doubt you'd insist that cis women who've had hysterectomies don't have periods.
Oh, another thing that I personally discovered after bottom surgery: vaginal odor changes for trans women during our periods too. I was not expecting that because I always thought it was just from menstruation. But nope, the ph levels of a trans woman's vagina are the same of as a cis woman's vagina, and it changes during our periods just the same.
I'm not gonna articulate this well, but there's this phenomenon I keep seeing on the left that I'll call "bean soup rhetoric," wherein someone fails to understand that they are not the target audience for a particular message, or just can't conceptualize why a speaker would craft their message differently to resonate with a target audience that doesn't already completely agree with them.
"The 'God Made Trans People' billboard is stupid! God didn't make me! I'm an atheist!" Okay. The billboard sits along a major highway in Kansas. We can deduce that the target audience is not you—it's the centrist evangelical Christians driving along that road who could probably be persuaded to become allies as long as we choose our words carefully and don't make them feel attacked for not already knowing everything about trans rights issues. Another one I see a lot is, "We shouldn't be talking about how right-wing legislation catches [privileged in-group] in the crossfire when [marginalized out-group] suffers far more!" I know. I agree with you. Which is why you and I are not the intended audience of this argument!
The entire point of rhetoric is to win over someone who doesn't already fully agree with you. In this case, let's say that someone is Jennifer, the moderate center-right mom in your neighborhood who doesn't really know or care about transgender issues but would be absolutely horrified by the idea of her teenage daughter having to submit to an invasive inspection of her body just to be allowed to play soccer. Tell her, "Banning trans students from sports will inevitably subject all student athletes to invasive gender-policing," or "Legal restrictions on gender-affirming care will make it harder for you to access the hormone replacement therapy you take to treat menopause symptoms," and she is more likely to question her existing beliefs and listen to the rest of what you have to say than if you lead with leftist talking points that she already has a calcified opinion about or which she thinks do not personally affect her.
Tailoring the argument to the things she already cares about does not mean we're forgetting that she has more privilege than most—entirely the opposite, in fact. A privileged ally can be extremely valuable. Jennifer votes in every election. And so do all the other ladies at her book club, and church, and in the PTA, and those folks listen to Jennifer. There's a reason both parties were courting suburban women so hard in the last election cycle! If we can find common ground with her on this, if we can get her calling her representatives and talking to her friends and phone-banking and door-knocking and making a stink, that's how the needle starts to move. If I can convince her to take her support away from the candidates who are actively restricting my rights and throw it toward those who want to restore and expand those rights...then I'm sorry, but Jennifer is a more valuable ally to me than the people who agree that the legal boundaries of gender ought to be abolished altogether but refuse to actually do anything except complain online about how both sides are equally bad because the right is trying to force everyone to drink the cyanide kool-aid while the left keeps serving bean soup and they don't like bean soup
if you build “community” around hating other people, just know that the second you step out of line—regardless of your moral uprightness or the hypocrisy on their part—you’re the next person they’re going to tear to pieces.
And by the way it doesn’t matter if you claim your community is “pro” something if the main actual behavior of the group is hating the thing labeled as the enemy of the thing you are “in support” of.
As an example, a lot of groups claim to be “pro-women”, when in reality they are actually anti-trans. Their goal is not to uplift women, it’s to harass and criminalize trans people.
So inspect the groups you’re in. Ignore the name of the movement. What are the people in your group actually DOING?
me as a teenager: man it sucks to have no privacy or autonomy but i guess its for a good reason. when i turn 18 i will realise how young i was and understand why they did all that.
me as an adult: teenagers are an oppressed class, their abuse is normalised and systemic and they need to start killing people

it's fun how every man holds privilege over women in the same social group as them except trans men, of course that's totally true and not an excuse to single themselves out and pile on trans women by using "misandry" as an excuse
fuck transandroexceptionalism, you're fucking clowns and i hope women in your life realize how unsafe you are
passing trans men privilege over passing trans women
white trans men privilege over white trans women
disabled trans men privilege over disabled trans women
poor trans men privilege over poor trans women
"oh but we're not always perceived as men" best case you'll be just a guy™, worst case you'll be treated as a queer cis woman. do you wanna guess who's treated better when it comes to trans women? do you wanna guess who's treated worse when you're perceived as a social menace and a predator? wanna guess who's treated better compared to a "faggot who crossdresses and wants to get in women spaces"? because it's not you, fucking clowns
"so you hate trans men specifically" i am angry at trans men who should know better, but if you're a trans woman or a non-binary person who holds these beliefs, fuck you, you're unsafe to be around and i hope you get better
"so i should shut up if i'm cis" yes, get on your fucking lane
"so trans men are worse than cis men" no lmao
"so trans men are better than cis men" they are always safer than cis men in the same social class
"so trans men hold privilege over cis women" they rarely do, and even when it's the case being trans will set you back a few
"so trans men should shut the fuck up" no, they are still affected by transphobia and often, misogyny, what they aren't is affected by the intersection of that, which targets trans women
you can speak up without believing you are exempt from benefitting from the patriarchal system of beliefs which is ingrained in every part of our society and benefits every man over women in their same social class
that is transandroexceptionalism
pick your belief
men, while not inherently capable of oppression, benefit over women in their same social class by virtue of how the system is built
men do not in any way benefit over women, we're all just poor little booboos who would never hurt you :(
men benefit over women, except trans men, who are pure of heart and incapable of accesing and benefitting from the patriarchy in any significant way by virtue of how they were born
patriarchy is the promise to men of always having access to a lower class of people which they can step on and hurt with little consequences, it serves the same purpose as racism, ageism, homophobia and xenophobia, which is to give them temporary relief to distract them of pushing against their own oppressors and actually changing something
trans men, just as other oppressed men before them, have become disillusioned that promise isn't all that they expected it to be. they were promised cake and they got breadcrumbs, so transandroexceptionalists turn against women in their own social class by saying "hey i don't have a cake either, we both got it just as bad!" while ignoring the empty hands begging for help of what they call their trans "sisters", which is nothing more than a way to ease the guilt of constantly pushing us under the bus
funny how transandrophobia defenders will cite being misgendered as a reason it exists when that is pretty much a universal transgender experience not limited to trans men.
i have seen trans men oppressed due to transphobia, i have seen trans men oppressed by misplaced misogyny due to people seeing them as women, but 'transandrophobia' entails being oppressed both for being a man and transgender, which i've never seen an example of
