I still remember getting around 50 or so hours into breath of the wild and just⌠feeling my interest drain away. Suddenly realizing that all the story is in the past, and the actual game is just running around checking things off of lists. It was the first time i realized the inherent flaws of an open world game design. Everything has to be optional because the designers have no clue when you'll do what, or if you'll even do something. Twilight Princess was able to write an entire character arc for Midna because they could build in every step of her growth along the linear path they knew the player would take. They could build in a mid game twist because the game was linear. Made Midna still one of the most iconic characters in the series. BOTW cant do that. The sum total of everything you can do in breath of the wild's big fancy open world amounts to "how much of our already easy and short final boss battle would you like to skip?"
idk. The zelda games i grew up playing had such a satisfying feeling of growth and journey to them. Being able to run right to the final boss from the start is not appealing to me. I was completely hooked for awhile, it took time for the game to lose its appeal. There was just this moment like 60-70 hours in when i realized that i couldn't actually do anything in botw to affect the story. I was running around a big pretty empty bowl checking things off of lists. All the important story happened 100 years ago and all i get to do is choose how long i take dragging my feet to bring it to an end. Suddenly the whole world felt so empty, and the spell botw had on me was broken.
Hey, did y'all see this?
I saw this when running newpipe. But wait, it gets deeper. I clicked on the details buttons and it said as of today, we have 83 days left until Google rolls out this new requirement for apps inside and outside of the google play store. If any developer disagrees with their new terms and fees, they will be blocked!
I'll share some of the info below:
Looks like they're trying to nuke the remaining privacy and freedoms we have left on the internet.
What to do?
-Get your developer friends to not comply to their new guides
- Sign the open letter on the site and take action by checking out the full resources list on their website as well!
To summarize, this is all daunting especially when you feel all alone with unfair and inhumane regulations comming out faster than improvements but we got this working together!
Share the link with your friends, family and anyone who will listen!
Your phone is about to stop being yours. In September 2026, Google will block every Android app whose developer hasn't registered with them.
If you're in the US, I created a petition to make it easier to contact senators and congressmen.
Join 1 people. Google is trying to make people hand over government id in order to make an Android app. If they don't, then that app can't b

at this point I donât even tell people that the two wolves joke is anti-indigenous anymore because so many people have proven that even when they know they donât care and Iâd rather be able to tell myself people are doing it out of ignorance than grapple with the fact that anti-native racism just isnât that important to people
bitches be sucking farts there
Found the source of the infographic that explains how the results were obtained!
thereâs sixteen Colorado counties that their most searched was âwolf furryâ, plus thirty-odd counties (not counting either Arapahoe or any of the ones marked here as âInsufficient Dataâ) which may well have had plenty of searches for âwolf furryâ, just fewer than for whatever theyâre labeled here
and âskunk furryâ searches in Arapahoe County outnumbered âwolf furryâ searches in the entire state of Colorado
something tells me Skunks Georg
we did it, we created furry gerrymandering
why is the two wolves meme anti-indiginous?
Itâs based on a story that is falsely attributed to Natives, usually but not always the Cherokee. Itâs a settlersâ approximation of how we talk and what we believe. To parrot that phrasing uncritically is pretty anti-indigenous, and the fact that itâs so commonplace is indicative of how little thought it given to the mockery of Indigenous spirituality and how frequently itâs appropriated
it does feel especially evil when people use the relatively small population percentages of indigenous people as a way to dismiss our knowledge and ways of life because like. hey you know the reason our populations are so small right? you heard what happened to us did you not? youâve considered the genocide?
and it's ESPECIALLY frustrating when institutions use this as a reason to not include us in policywork and decision making! like oh, less than X% of our users/patrons/clients/students are indigenous, so there isn't enough to "create a demand." they don't even hear themselves. you know why there's fewer of us, right?
you only count us so you know when you've finally finished killing every last one.
oh explicitly yeah, which is in and of itself a continued act of genocide and Iâm not exaggerating even a little bit, it happens on governmental levels and if we are written out of policy and decision making then our needs wonât be met and we will continue to suffer and die
People love natives in such a superficial way. People wanna stand with natives when weâre talking about the trees, and the land. People wanna stand with natives when we talk about philosophies of love and togetherness. But as soon as itâs time to talk about political side of being native. About dismantling a system built on the genocide of our people. About how we need a new system that isnât built upon capital gain and benefitting white bodies. About putting up a fight. About how the colonial state we reside in is a disgusting imperial plague on this land. Suddenly yâall donât wanna talk native.
"They spent hundreds of years trying to assimilate my ancestors, trying to create indians like me, who could blend in, but now they donât want me either. They canât make up their minds.
They want buckskin and face paint, drumming, songs in languages they canât understand recorded for them but with English subtitles, of course. They want educated, well spoken, but not too smart. Christian, well behaved, never question. They want to learn the history of the people, but not the ones that are here now, waving signs in their faces, asking them for clean drinking water, asking them why their women are going missing, asking them why their land is being ruined.
They want fantastical stories of Indians that used to roam this land. They want my culture behind glass in a museum.
But they donât want me." -Shelby Lisk

personally I am of the opinion that vegans who are like âthe way our food system currently works under capitalism on a large scale is exceptionally cruel to all animals including humans and is not sustainable, so Iâm doing what I can to make the most ethical choices available to me about what I eat and encourage others to do the sameâ are generally very reasonable people who I agree with in spades. but vegans who seem to think human beings are not themselves animals who are ultimately also part of the food chain but instead some kind of other paternalistic higher entity that can never engage in ethical and sustainable hunting practices (and especially the fringe Iâve seen who think other carnivorous animal predators are also evil and need to be eliminated) are people I regard as foolish at best if not actively anti-indigenous and racist
help. one of my players has pulled a masterclass of a manuever and i do not know how to deal with it. they "accidentally" shared their character sheet, reavealing that they were a "vampire" they are not a vampire. they have the poseur trait. it was a forged character sheet, which makes sense, because the character is a white collar criminal with +3 forgery. a detail that was, again, conspicuosly also removed from the character sheet in question.
they deleted it, as soon as everybody saw it, and went "woopsie" but i know what they did. in short, what the hell do i do about this?
Yeah this is not at all within the spirit of the game. It goes against all the states reasons to keep character sheets secret and not telling people.
The player doesnât have a +3 in forgery, the character does. These are not the same people and the player should not act as such.
The character sheet here is being treated as an in-game object even though it is not something that exists in-game, so the character canât âforgeâ it, and the other characters canât see it.
This is just a player lying to the other players and depriving them of the conventional guesswork or lack thereof(which is itself a different thing) that would be associated with wondering if another playerâs character has particular Traits.
Tell this player not to do this again. As for what to do about it now that it has happened, thatâs a social thing not really something that can be covered by game rules or my advice, not knowing your group. You could make this player admit that the character is not in fact a vampire, without revealing anything else, but you know how anyone in the group is going to react to anything better than I do. The only thing you have to do is say that that wasnât cool or within the spirit of the game so that this does not become a repeat thing. Anyone reading the rules of the first part of Chapter 1 and the first part of Chapter 2 should be able to understand that.
Do not let gamers near nonbinary characters
yeah
yeah
me after I eliminated 21,042 people
Self explanatory

messed up that you can literally be better and nicer in every way and the adventuring party will still be like "waaa its a shapeshifter waaaa the real whatstheirface would never say that" like ok maybe i am a picture perfect copy of your friend that i imprisoned beneath the earth and replaced when you werent looking. so what. maybe they were a cunt. maybe i thought youd appreciate an improved version of your friend. with awesome eldritch tendrils.
I don't know I'm not done talking about it. It's insane that I can't just uninstall Edge or Copilot. That websites require my phone number to sign up. That people share their contacts to find their friends on social media.
I wouldn't use an adblocker if ads were just banners on the side funding a website I enjoy using and want to support. Ads pop up invasively and fill my whole screen, I misclick and get warped away to another page just for trying to read an article or get a recipe.
Every app shouldn't be like every other app. Instagram didn't need reels and a shop. TikTok doesn't need a store. Instagram doesn't need to be connected to Facebook. I don't want my apps to do everything, I want a hub for a specific thing, and I'll go to that place accordingly.
I love discord, but so much information gets lost to it. I don't want to join to view things. I want to lurk on forums. I want to be a user who can log in and join a conversation by replying to a thread, even if that conversation was two days ago. I know discord has threads, it's not the same. I don't want to have to verify my account with a phone number. I understand safety and digital concerns, but I'm concerned about information like that with leaks everywhere, even with password managers.
I shouldn't have to pay subscriptions to use services and get locked out of old versions. My old disk copy of photoshop should work. I should want to upgrade eventually because I like photoshop and supporting the business. Adobe is a whole other can of worms here.
Streaming is so splintered across everything. Shows release so fast. Things don't get physical releases. I can't stream a movie I own digitally to friends because the share-screen blocks it, even though I own two digital copies, even though I own a physical copy.
I have an iPod, and I had to install a third party OS to easily put my music on it without having to tangle with iTunes. Spotify bricked hardware I purchased because they were unwillingly to upkeep it. They don't pay their artists. iTunes isn't even iTunes anymore and Apple struggles to upkeep it.
My TV shows me ads on the home screen. My dad lost access to eBook he purchased because they were digital and got revoked by the company distributing them. Hitman 1-3 only runs online most of the time. Flash died and is staying alive because people love it and made efforts to keep it up.
I have to click "not now" and can't click "no". I don't just get emails, they want to text me to purchase things online too. My windows start search bar searches online, not just my computer. Everything is blindly called an app now. Everything wants me to upload to the cloud. These are good tools! But why am I forced to use them! Why am I not allowed to own or control them?
No more!!!!! I love my iPod with so much storage and FLAC files. I love having all my fics on my harddrive. I love having USBs and backups. I love running scripts to gut suck stuff out of my Windows computer I don't want that spies on me. I love having forums. I love sending letters. I love neocities and webpages and webrings. I will not be scanning QR codes. Please hand me a physical menu. If I didn't need a smartphone for work I'd get a "dumb" phone so fast. I want things to have buttons. I want to use a mouse. I want replaceable batteries. I want the right to repair. I grew up online and I won't forget how it was!
glad this post is resonating with the local populace fr
