no universal healthcare, increasingly fewer protections for kids including states trying to remove access to life saving vaccines and even starting to talk about doing away with vaccine mandates in public schools. removing access to abortion care which is necessary to make pregnancy safer as well as ensuring people have true bodily autonomy when it comes to family planning. car-centric infrastructure makes public spaces more dangerous for kids, esp as trucks are allowed to get larger and larger to the point drivers wouldn’t even notice hitting a child. wages that have stagnated as cost of living grows, so no one can even afford kids. schools, parks, and libraries are underfunded leading to worse communities, worse educations, fewer opportunities for those kids to grow up in…it sucks, man. and fixing this stuff would be good for everyone regardless of it they have kids, but it would certainly make those on the fence feel like they have more of a safety net.
