Oh, yes, they put you...
...inside a death machine. Exclusively dedicated to the most precise, rapid and efficient extermination of life possible, linked directly to your brain. How terrible. But really, consider what they did before that.
The cybernetics for hands that cannot shake, the implants for eyes that see in anything short of absolute darkness. The cortical nodes that let you think harder and faster than a human should, react in fractions of fractions of a second. Skeletal reinforcements and cardiovascular retaining meshes to let you laugh at G-forces that would fold anyone else inside-out and then up into their own skull. Regenerative surge modules if anything manages to penetrate your steel and titanium outer skin to the soft inner layer. Standard stuff for pilots, honestly pretty humble- just two eyes, still a throat and feet on there.
Back in the day they actually needed a person in there, but now it's more like a socket adapter. Long before they got around to putting you inside a killing machine, they put a killing machine inside of you. Turn inside or out, it's the same either way; the bars of this cage are also the ribs around your heart.
