A blog for you to submit problems about your fandom that make you want to pull out your hair. From problems about you not being in the same country as your fandom to problems about other fans, all problems are welcome.
We suggest new visitors start here, as well as regular visitors who have questions.
We don't utilize content warnings or trigger tags, expect to see all sorts of subject matter discussed on this blog. Tags are mainly used for broad topic categories, such as #shipping problems or #anime fandom.
As such, content may be NSFT. We don't check ages of blogs, but recommend that users be 18+. Viewer discretion is advised.
Opinions presented here do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the mods.
Please keep discussions civil. Outright bigotry or low-effort trolling will result in being blocked, as well as repeated rude or disruptive behavior.
Submissions are received via the ask box and are all treated as anonymous.
We copy the text of each submission directly into the image without any alterations, so any misspellings or typos are as received. The only thing we may alter is line spacing for the sake of readability or fitting into the image, or any emojis that do not translate over.
Do not include your own Fandom Problem number when submitting your problem. It is not going to be posted right away and makes things confusing when we are trying to search for response asks.
Please be patient, we have a very large backlog (currently 2700 inbox items plus 300 queued items, set to post 19 times per day). Our oldest inbox items currently are from January 2026.
Do not re-submit your problem because it hasn't been posted for a while. We understand that it's easy to forget and mistakes happen. However, if it gets to the point of becoming spam it may result in being blocked.
Our focus is on queuing the oldest inbox items, but occasionally will mix in submissions from the middle of the inbox for variety.
If you change your mind about a submission and would like to have it deleted, we can do so, but you need to provide as much information as you can remember in order to be sure we're deleting the correct one. Things like the topic, time frame in which it was sent, or any specific phrases used that were used may help us narrow down our search. Assume that your request has been seen and handled even if your ask wasn't answered publicly. A submission will not be deleted once it has been posted publicly to the blog, however.

"It'd be cool to see black characters in anime more often."
"Hey!! What about all THESE characters??"
50/50 mix of "MinstrelShow McDonutLips" and "~ethnically ambiguous~ character with a light light light light light light light tan and zero African features"
(INB4 the whole "why would there be black anime characters anyways?? ALL anime characters are Japanese!! Except for the ones that aren't!!")
And stop with the women must be perfect little angels and flawless warriors bullshit. We women are humans just as flawed and inperfect as every other human being.
(You can replace women with fem presenting, because I see this happening to fem presenting characters as well. But it is the most noticeable with women characters in my opinion.)
"The character is smart, sarcastic and cunning in canon! Why are you making him easily manipulated???"
Oh I'm sorry, was him showing distaste to the actions of the antagonist both in private and to the antagonist's face not clear? Was him resisting the urge to deck the antagonist a sign of love? Was him calling and speaking positively with the heroes and speaking about the antagonist's plans not a clear enough hint?
I'm sorry, you're right. He has to turn, look in the camera and go I hate this guy and am a double agent, manipulating them so I can help plot their downfall. Any plan of theirs I agree to and every moment of me being nice is me just remaining in their good graces so I don't die and so I can give this information back to my team. Any plan I give the antagonist has been cleared with the heroes so they know and they're not plans that will cause a lot of damage anyway. I DO NOT SUPPORT THE ANTAGONIST AND AM GOING TO DANCE ON THEIR GRAVE!
Or is that still not clear enough? Tell me what I must do to stop writing this character out of character oh holy one.
Roleplay blogs who rant about their personal problems under the thin disguise of their characters. Bonus annoying point if they spam all the rants in the fandom's main tag

If you can't handle works like Watchmen or Evangelion (or think they're badly-written), you're a brainless idiot with the attention span of a fruit fly. Stick to trite wish-fulfilment series like Dragon Ball Z.
Absolutely hate it when someone tries to justify a character doing something bad with "they have (insert mental illness here)". Especially when said character does NOT have said illness and it's just a hc to justify their shitty behavior.
Why are all femboys (or guys that are just lithe and graceful instead of muscular) portrayed as submissive bottoms, like... exclusively? It's tiring. And it's not really genderfuckery if we're just reinforcing the gender binary after all...
Thereās an amazing longfic about my OTP being written in my fandom, which is great. But the author has gotten friendly with a few people in the fandom who have some ideas that Iām not really a fan of. I can already see the influences in the authorās most recent chapter which is annoying. Mind you, these are people who already write and publish fic on their own, so Iām not sure why they feel like they need to weigh in on someone elseās story.

Saw someone on reddit call todomomo fans brain dead because "Shoto and Momo barely have any screentime together and if you ask people why they ship it, they always say something like 'it's because he respects her!'" and when someone pointed out hey sometimes you can just think it's neat, the first person replied that compatibility is a real thing and (I quote) how do you expect to make your way through the world if youāre unable to back up your opinions and thoughts? Youāre not going to get very far if you canāt back up your basic likes and dislikes with more than just āØvibesāØ.
They then commented that they were in a happy long relationship so they 'understand more or less what makes a relationship successful'. Like good for you hun...But people can play with dolls however they want. If someone says they like blue, do you sprint over and demand exactly why they like the colour, then act all smug and say they woun't survive the 'real world' if they reply with idk I just like it?
Shipping isn't that serious. MHA shipping isn't that serious. Let people play with their dolls and go back to the sandbox already.
Also, saying that someone needs to explain their reasoning behind shipping something, then going oh I'm not demanding they explain stuff! I just think that if you can't explain it to me, you should keep it to yourself! when called out is certainly a move. You yourself called it trivial so why are you saying that if someone can't explain why they like something, most of the time you're going to think less of their intelligence?
āMedia literacy is at an all time low! Thatās why so many fans of [popular story] donāt understand its core themes of [most confirmation bias-filled interpretation youāve ever heard].ā
They're not sending you that anon that makes you want to defend your ship because they're interested in what you have to say, they're sending it to any prominent shippers with anon turned on because they want attention and to make you feel bad.

vtuber haters crawling out of the woodworks to say that anyone whose mad that the burntpeanut won the vtuber catagory for the streamer awards are just mad that their sexualized lolis didnt win are so annoying. like for all that i think the streamer awards are stupid to pay attention to, i think people are right to be upset. because they're not bad that their loli didnt win, they're mad because someone who has said before that dont consider themselves a vtuber and therefore shouldn't have even been in the category to begin with, and constantly shits on vtubers won.
