a while back i attended a lecture regarding the tibetan wind horse (lungta), i made one too many connections to heavenly pegasus, and now i'm here again and equipped to yap about this. let's get right into it ✨

what is the wind horse? it's one of the five mythical creatures in tibetan buddhism. on a surface level it symbolizes the winds coursing through the region, but depending on how deep you go the symbolism slightly shifts

inner level: good fortune and vitality

deeper level: the inner "wind" of an individual

let's discuss that last level - the wind horse exists both as the creature itself but also as a term for a person's inner energy.

"What really controls the mind is lung [Tib.], the ‘wind’ or ‘subtle energy’ that determines the direction that the mind pursues."

it is said that you can't directly control your mind, but you can affect it by controlling your wind. depending on where you steer your inner horse off to it'll affect you not only physically but also spiritually. it's a person's first line of defense against illness and bad fortune.

now, how does this tie into pot's character? i'm gonna start off with the obvious - his bey, heavenly pegasus, is quite literally a flying (wind) horse.

it seemed a bit random to me that they assigned him as a pegasus user of all beys but considering how much buddhist influence went into his character, i don't think it's a stretch to say lungta was one of the reasons for the bey choice. (also it quite literally has multiple wind based attacks-)

moving onto his ability to see people's qi! as a concept qi belongs to traditional chinese beliefs, and not buddhism. however - the concept of qi is very similar to the one of the wind horse. it's a person's inner energy which can be affected by the choices they make and the world around them.

it's more common to hear about qi being "seen" by others, but that more or less stems from the fact that qi is more popular as a concept. both qi and lungta can be "seen" or "read" by experienced teachers or gurus in an attempt to help someone figure out their inner struggles or spiritual standing.

what i'm getting at is that if we decide to keep rolling with everything so far, the energies pot saw in the anime/manga would be lungta, and not qi. and it checks out! throwback to when he perceived delta's horrendous vibes, and said vibes ultimately led to delta's downfall a few episodes later (bad lungta -> bad fortune)

lastly, the part about good fortune and vitality. it's safe to say pot has a lot of both considering how energetic he is, and how he excels at any hobby he picks up. all of his pranks aside he's actually a pretty good kid that means no harm and his own lungta is proof of that.

In my headcanon, BBX takes place about 1/2 or 3/5 a year after QuadStrike/QuadDrive (cant remember which one was the 7th), and the reason the outside world is so gatekept is so that X-Era bladers actually stay in Xenon lol. If people outside Xenon found out who Bel Daizora is, Xenon would be OVER-

Not only that, I feel like Jaxon would be OFF THE WALLS when he realizes Xenon aint shit compared to what Burst Era's are packing. Especially when he loses his X-Dash privileges in a Burst Era stadium. We need to see Jaxon get absolutely HUMBLED by Burst Era bladers. Them X-Era Bladers need HOLOGRAMS to summon their bit beasts, tf they gonna do to every Burst blader ever lol-

Another thing I like about Burst is HYPERFLUX. It's such a under-explored gimmick, given how it's essentially Beyblade's Super Sayain. I feel like Rise, although they did very well with Hyperflux, could've been the base for at least some more Hyperflux representation in the future outside of that one scene in Surge and Perfect Belfire. Multi would DEFINETLY try and master some form of Hyperflux purely because it would be super flashy lol-

you're Onto Something though. xenon city does feel weirdly isolated from the rest of the world. the thought that this could be due to "the higher-ups" knowing damn well that they could never compete with the super saiyan god rituals happening outside the city is both incredibly dystopian (they're kinda keeping the residents hostage that way, no? 😭) but also hilarious DJSJFJSJD

THE HUMBLING WILL BE REAL AF, especially for jaxon. x-rails? x-treme dashes? try having your bey accelerate based on your vibes alone 🧘 the character development for him would be something else for sure (in the BEST way possible)
