Hey I'm new to Tumblr and I wanted to respond to your post about alterhuman prosthetics but I can't access it for some reason, hope barging into your ask box is fine! I might have some advice depending on what exact prosthetics you want to make and what resources you have and what materials and tools you have access to and what your budget for potential materials is.
Hi there. I imagine the reason you can't access it is because I deleted it in the end. Nobody was really engaging with it; it had something around 30-40 likes and all of one singular reblog that was fine but not substantial. I suppose I wasn't very substantial myself, I only remember being frustrated and a bit desperate due to my many years of googling gear ideas just to be met with "wear a shirt and a tail" over and over.
That said, thank you for reaching out! Barging into my inbox is indeed fine, I love talking to people even if I'm slow to get back to them at times. : )
I craft in general so I have quite a lot of things on hand that I could work with:
Sewing + general craft supplies
Probably other things I can't think of right now
I try to keep things decent-good quality but as budget as possible, if that's any guidance. I don't wanna be paying above Β£10 for, say, glue or something y'know. More niche or quality items I will go up to perhaps Β£30-40 for depending.
At the moment I am working on the modern classic, a mask. I also however have interest in developing:
Two-toed feet. I have an idea on how to achieve this but I'm worried about messing it up :')
Undergarments (AKA prosthetic vagina/penis, being vague with which on purpose to obfuscate any AGAB sorry). This is the one I'm having the most trouble with, there was someone who planned to release a fabric pattern for the latter but they got harassed out of it which seems to be a really shitty precedent that's been set.
Literally anything about axolotl external gills because again I have ideas but ohh my god surely SOME guidance exists. Having a similar issue with the idea of an axolotl tail admittedly.
If you know any good fur sites with more obscure colours that would be amazing. Apparently I fucked up by existing as this weird dark grey-purpley thing that as a colour is.. really hard to find it seems! (I do not want to pay above Β£30 for a yard ideally)
Teats : ) These would make me super happy. At the moment I just draw them on sometimes.
Paw pads, especially rodent ones : ) I have paw gloves but I cannot wear those and, say, use a keyboard. But I have always longed for paw pads. There were some on Google, but they linked only to Pinterest and reverse search did not help. : (
If I could I'd just make a fursuit, but that requires time and energy I don't really have unfortunately. I suppose I'm trying to start much smaller first.
Any general advice and ideas you may have are also appreciated! I am an aquatic rodent if that helps. You are not obligated to address all of these, I'm sure you can figure out by now why I did not make my initial post highly specific.
