Honestly been reading Boboiboy fanfics whenever I cant watch an episode at the moment, and I found alot of them him being quite meek in a way? Like, he's still confident and hapoy and all just angsts cranked up to who knows what.
Like understandable, fandom likes to angst up characaters to the point of OOC.
I do find it odd since I finished S1-S2. And its just I forgot how flawed Boboiboy was, and the gang too like, guys arent you guys a bit too mean to Fang? Then we got a bit more in S3 and Boboiboy having attitude is pretty funny with how much he deadpan reacts to things. The sass in this kid lolābut!
That's aside the point! I'm currently at S3Ep13, and let me tell you, when I recognised the chiken coop burn is Api's doing, and then the sudden influx of Boboibiy runnung around helping people (I mean like, the Bank scene? I felt Boboiboy's stress) then we have the 5 scamming brothers??? (Side note, I was completely in Adudu's side of the arguement when it comes to his spaceship) I felt even bad for Boboiboy cuz the kid is getting through it with everyone looking for his guidance.
And then we had Adudu's mom... his sad face just really sells all the angst fics away. Like, I'm sorry doubting all the terrible thoughts Boboiboy has in yout fics, turns out that was accurate charcaterisation that the show wont really go into much but will show shallow-ly

Author's Note: Oops...totally didnt forget...hehe
Boboiboyās weeks go on like this;Ā
On days he assumes are the first days of the week, he would be abruptly awoken by the sound of the hardlight barrier whirring open.
The first time it did, Boboiboy hadnāt hesitated.
āBoboiboy Ais!ā He quickly transforms into his ice form, and before the Satriantar Robots could even pull out their blades, he had immediately frozen the entire floor alongside them solid, rendering them unable to move.
But he barely manages to slide out of the cell beforeā
ā?! ARGHā!āĀ
The shackles that bound his hands together release an electric shock unlike any other, and it immediately stuns Ais. He slips on his own ice field and lands on his side, moaning painfully as he involuntarily twitches from the electric shock that still courses through his system. Try as he might to get up, the shocks bring him back down to lying on his side.
Thereās the ominous sound Boboiboy vaguely remembers, and he soon realizes why. The general that kept him imprisoned here peels out of the shadows. His expression is completely unimpressed as he holds a strange sort of remote in his hand. One that must be controlling the shackles on his wrists.
āYouāre utterly predictable.ā General Pang sneers.
And something about that look in particular got on Aisā nerves, since he immediately tries to get up and strike at the other, ice palm ready to shut the other up.
But General Pang presses a button, and heās sent back down on the floor with a scream of agony as he gets shocked again.
āYou truly are.ā General Pang adds, like heās salting the wound. Ais grits his teeth to stop himself from whimpering any more, ānothing more than a fool.ā
Suddenly, heās grabbed by his hood, and he yelps as heās forced to look General Pang in the eye, who looks back with the usual vitriol Boboiboy is quickly associating with the merciless bastard, āSince you seem so eager today, youāll be happy today to learn it's your mandatory training session today. So get up and off the floor, Iāll be the one to escort you.ā
It takes Ais a couple of minutes to be able to fully get off the floor, careful not to set off the general lest he face the wrath of that damned remote.
He detransforms back into his usual self, and a different Satriantar robot places a strange cover over his eyes and ears. Theyāre making sure I donāt know where Iām going.
Heās led into some strange small box, and he gets transported off.
ā
The training itself was equally brutal.
He doesnāt know if itās because heās the enemy or something else along those lines, but the simulations he puts through are rough on him.
By the time he does finish, heās all bruised up and likely crumpled on the floor, panting and desperately trying to catch his own breath.
If this is what training is likeā¦I donāt even wanna know how hard those trials could be.
Heās usually picked up by the Satriantar Bots by his arms, who carry him off to nearby medical aid that awaits them, all while he sees the overlooking gazes of Princess Kiraāna and her three generals.
As always, he sees General Pangās eyes filled with all the malice the galaxy could muster. General Gurāmida stares down with stony impassiveness, General Sariāya with her gleeful sadism, andā¦
Boboiboy cannot see Princess Kiraānaās expression all that well, but even behind her red visor, he could see it.
A storm brewing within, emotions welling deep inside, slowly toiling.
He could only dread what would come if that turmoil ever boiled over.
ā
His mealtimes were strictly timed, and it was always the same, flavorless thing that doesnāt feel all that soothing. Much like its flavor, it just left him feeling empty, aching.
And aching made him think.
Of his friends, probably worried sick for him back at TAPOPS station, of Pulau Rintisā¦wondering how everyone in the community is doing, which then makes him think ofā
Atok.
He nearly sobs the first time he thinks back to his grandfather, left all alone on Earth. While he was cared for by his friendsā parents, he still worried to no end. He hoped he was improving, because it didnāt seem like an ordinary fever had taken over him, it seemed like something else entirely, and that made Boboiboy anxious.
So anxious, he did something reckless.
He thought it would be an innocent enough play. He transformed into Blaze and started playing with a bit of fire. Nothing destructive, for he had long outgrown the instability of the fire element save for his third tier form.
But not even a few minutes passed when he was suddenly jolted by electricity. An agonized scream tears out his throat and the small fire he was playing with shoots up into the ceiling, singing the metal above and causing the lights to flicker.
He barely has time to think before heās forcefully pinned down by a gigantic shadow hand that makes him shudder. The cold of it was so unbearable against his heated skin.
āWhat do you think youāre doing?ā General Pang demands as he stomps over to Boboiboyās cell, furious is an understatement to his expression.
Blaze barely manages to answer amidst all the involuntary twitching and the way that shadow hand puts pressure on his breathing, āIāI was justā!ā
āWho am I kidding? You do not even ponder a thought.ā General Pang runs a hand over his hair, clearly stressed, as the shadow hand finally relents off of Boboiboy, who only starts coughing profusely, occasionally gasping from an occasional twitch.
When Blaze finally gets ahold of his voice, he glares up at the general, āI was justā¦playing around! Iām so bored here!ā
āAnd that is not my concern, or Gurālatanās for that matter.ā General Pang is quick to respond. Blaze flinches at the sight of the otherās bared teeth, noting the sharp fangs he had.
But not his concern? Iām his prisoner, for goodness sake! Blaze wants to scream out, but he knows backtalking this one would be no good, not with General Pang. He would probably hate his guts even more for less reason than the usualā¦!
āItās not fun being left with your own thoughtsāā
āAnd I do not care.ā General Pang hisses out, āDetransform this instant. That is an order.ā
ā¦
Blaze shudders under all that anger General Pang gives him. Reluctantly, he adjusts his power band back, and turns back into regular Boboiboy.
They both stare at each other. General Pangās hatred of him is so intense that Boboiboyās hands gently quiver from where they were hidden behind him.
āAny sign of you using your powers outside your trials, and we will strike Earth at once.ā
Boboiboy pales.
āWhat?!ā Boboiboy exclaims, dread filling every crevice of his being as he presses against the hardlight barrier, his eyes full of righteous fury, but also unadulterated fear at the mere mention, āY-youāre crazy! All over a little fire?!ā
āA little fire that would turn into a blaze if it is not quelled fast enough.ā General Pang answers, his teeth grit in barely held back anger, āYou are a prisoner, do not forget that. You are under our jurisdiction, and every action not dictated is an act against the throne.ā
āDo not forget that.ā
Boboiboy wants to scream out loud in frustration. Even an act as minute as watching fire bend into shapes was considered that?! How ridiculous.
But General Pang leaves soon after, still livid considering how loud the elevator at the end of the hallway slams, leaving him all alone, now with the fear of Earthās safety in detriment keeping him from trying anything.
But it leaves him again with his thoughts, and this time, the images his mind conjures arenāt nice.
It shows an Earth in destruction as the Guruhan Army rampages throughout the world, taking every country down and striking down those who show futile resistance.Ā
He holds his head in his hands and shakes. But he refuses to cry, no.
Not when he knows he is being watched now.
And this routine continues until the day his first trial commences.
ā
Finally, the first day of the trial came.
And Boboiboy was incredibly nervous, barely sleeping the night before.
Unlike many of the fights before that were all rather spontaneous, which set him and the enemy on equal ground, this time, he was going to go through something specifically meant to challenge him and his powers. It was all calculated, coordinated, and definitely planned to be something against him.
And that made him dread it.
He doesn't let it show on his face, though.
At least Gur'latan was nice enough to fit him in armor. He feels a little uncomfortable about it, though. Not because the armor was unfittingāquite the opposite actuallyābut the way it was a snug fit made shivers roll down his spine. How'd they manage to get my size?
Nevertheless, he was already on the podium, stuck behind those hard light barriers again.
He was in a gigantic, square room, lit with a neon blue grid. When the barriers go down and he finally steps out, lights from above lit up on a balcony above that overlooks this bizarre stadium.
On it is none other than Princess Kira'na and her generals. The light made her so imperious, so regal, and so very alien despite her humanoid face. It made Boboiboy see just how much of a gap there was between them, how different they were.
āWelcome to your first trial, Boboiboy.ā Princess Kira'na greets, her voice echoes and booms in the hollow space, reverberating in Boboiboy's bones and making him feel both grounded and dizzy.
The room whirrs, a deep, vibration down in the ground, and Boboiboy looks around to see platforms lift and strange creatures made of hardlight appear out of the holes it made. He immediately gets into a ready stance as the creatures slowly circle around him, a predatory glint in their artificial eyes.
āThis trial requires you to use your element of Light against creatures made of the very same light you project.ā General Sari'ya explains, her malicious, sharp-toothed grin seemingly had never left her face ever since he first met her. She taps on a tablet, and the creatures seem to increase in aggression, ādefeat them, and you're guaranteed one step closer to freedom.ā
ā¦
Freedom.
That sounded really enticing right now, especially with the hell he had been through for the last couple of days.Ā
His eyes particularly drift towards General Pang, who looks down at him with the same sort of vitriol as he always had. He has no idea what he ever did wrong to that particular general, butā¦
I'll show him.
I'll show him what I'm made of.
He twists at his Power Band, and turns into Boboiboy Solar.
The rush of his light powers into his body had never felt so relieving, especially after being powerless for so long under imprisonment. It brings a shiver down his spine. Solar shakes off the feeling and adjusts his gloves and looks up at his handful of an audience with a serious look.Ā
His powers may no longer feel like a blessing anymore. But he's not letting fall into hands worse than him.
I'd rather be the one hurt by them than the whole galaxy.
General Gur'mida raises his hand, and slams it onto a gong that is right behind them, the loud echo of the sound signifying the startā
āBEGIN!ā
ā
Fang watches the fight with observant eyes.
He can already tell that Boboiboy was a trained warrior in his own right. If the brutal training where he consistently got back up to continue to fight didn't tell him, then this trial certainly did. What he thought was just a mere bout of stubbornness turned out to be far more than just that.
He moved with efficient skill, nimbly dodging each of the hardlight creatures that tried to maul him, shooting out light rays from his fingers that sliced each creature in half. For someone not formally trained, the fighting experience he had must have been more than enough to compensate.
A shame then, that those creatures split when sliced.
The number of creatures multiplied, and it seemed even the elemental hero was struggling to keep up with the onslaught, having to use the platforms to his advantage to dodge the vast majority of them, now shooting at the creatures. It only makes them drop dead briefly, before they slowly shake it off and resume the fight.
They already knew how each of his elemental forms fight, they had enough data from his previous fights and anecdotes to have known such.
The real question is whether or not he could do something more with them. Especially compared to the destruction that Retak'ka had done to Gur'latan during his brief but devastating return. Surely the elements were capable of something more if they could defeat Santriantar Ratna.
Stubbornness will get him nowhere.
But despite his eyes being on the fight, his mind lingers elsewhere, far beyond the concerns of the elemental powers, or of the elemental heroāhe'll be fine.
Because a brief, cursory glance to his sworn sister had him shaken to his core.
The look of sheer disdain on her face as she watches with bated breath.
ā
This is going nowhereā¦!
Solar thinks as he shoots down more and more of these bizarre creatures. With him on the highest platform and each of the creatures jumping at him one at a time and steadily increasing in pace, it felt less like a fair fight and more like a horror movie scenarioālike a soldier desperately fighting off the inevitable horde that will consume him.
It's clear the trial challenges him, that Solar has to think, to change tactics if he wants to win this first trial. If he loses here, it's goodbye to both his powers and his sense of pride, and he can't have that.
Not when that smug bastard watches.
Come on, think! Solar looks at his gloved hands briefly in the few seconds of pause that is allotted to him by those creatures, before one charges at him again that he shoots down. You're smarter than this, it's clear they want you to do something different! Just thinkā
Solar barely manages to react in time when one monster fully pounces on him, wrestling it off and throwing it off his platform before he shoots it in his head.
They're not giving me time to think!Ā
He hates to admit it, but he's panicking, as he looks at the creatures all approaching all at once.
But he remembers that he's being watched, and bites down on a cry of frustration.
If they're not letting you thinkā¦
Then just do.
Solar takes a deep breath as his hands unclench from their usual finger-gun position and wraps around his body. He forces the light coursing through him to channel into his coreāhis chestāand it feels so overwhelming and hot. But if they want him to change tactics and adapt, then he'll easily do so. After all, it wouldn't be the first time he had to do so.
Even if this was a terrible idea, to do something new in a situation as dire as this, it's not like he has much of a choice now does he?
With a long exhale, he clenches his fist, familiar alien patterning carving into his exposed arms and on his cheeks as the gathered light within his chest fills like a full bucket and floods, spreading out through his form.
Just when a horde of the hardlight monsters jump, ready to maul him from behind, his eyes open. They glow with power and a particular menace behind that orange visor.
He grits his teeth.
Don't think.
Just feel.
āRadiating Burst!ā
ā
ā¦!
The entire room quakes as Boboiboy Solar lets out a blast of radiant light that blinds Fang and the others with him. It shakes the room, something fierce that they have to hold onto the railings.
But what concerns him more was the barrier they were behind suddenly ripples like water getting sloshed. He immediately summons his pool of shadows under his feet and wraps them around in a barrier of darkness quickly. Perfect timing as well, considering the hardlight barrier breaks under whatever Solar did.
The darkness unwraps around the group when the shaking finally stops, and they watch the remnant pieces of the barrier surrounding them. They start to glitch before their eyes, before disappearing entirely into nothing.
Sari'ya cackles.
Fang is immediately displeased at her for it, āWhat is the meaning of this?ā
Sari'ya just continues to smile menacingly as she shows them the tablet. Everything within the statistics looks fineā¦with the exception of the radiation.
It's off the charts. It physically can't be read by their sensors.
He probably even fried them.
Gur'mida immediately raises the alarm, āWe must leave, or we will be irradiatedāā
āOh, don't worry yourself now, Gur'mida,ā Sari'ya reassures, pulling out a flashlight from her side, a blue, UV light shines when she turns it on, and she points to the empty space where the barrier used to be. There, everyone could see the radiation surrounding them like the barrier, a trap of its own. Its iridescence is both a mesmerizing and terrifying sight. If they step one foot off from where they were, it would likely be a lethal dose, āseems our precious little hero only meant for it to the creatures below.ā
She motions downward, and Fang watches as the hardlight creatures they summoned against Boboiboy were screaming in agony, roars distorted from their glitching forms, while Solar blips around the field and starts destroying their now exposed cores of the creatures with his hands, crushing them in his palms with a solar explosion.Ā
Fang watches Solarās expression so full of gritted perseverance as he makes his way to each weakened creature and fully destroys their core one by one. Even when he notices how much those hands quiver from the pressure he puts upon the cores, he does not stop.
Even Fang can't help but admit being impressed.
So this is the magnitude of what his powers could potentially becomeā¦
He watches some more as Solar dodges a sad attempt of one the creatures to slash him, before he shoots it down with a solar beam.
It certainly would give us a massive advantage should the day of the conquest come.
The last of the light creatures is eventually dispersed off, and Solar drops to his hands and knees, panting heavily in the middle of all the carnage he created. The strange patterning on his arms and face disperse as the light forcefully courses back into his emptied body and soothes the aching pains he feels. He'll feel absolutely terrible later. But right now is not the time to be weak, not when he can still feel his radiation coursing around him, and specifically protecting a particular part of the room he's yet to encompass.
He takes in a shaky inhale, and the radiation secedes, slowly disappearing as holds his breath.
When he exhales, he lets out a shaky, delirious laugh.
I did it.Ā
He slowly gets up from where he lay, his entire body shakes with the heady rush of it all; of his first trial's success, the power coursing through his veins, the newfound knowledge of his own powers, justā¦everything. Adrenaline slowly shifting to exhaustion aside, makes him so deliriously joyful that he can't help but laugh. He can do this, of course he can do this. He's the damned Hero of the Galaxy! What was all his earlier doubt for?
When he finally stands, he looks up towards the audience he has, sees their bewildered expression, and more importantly, General Pang's impassive one, and points towards them with his gloved hands. His eyes are bright, dangerously so, as a fierce fire burns in his eyes. His grin is all teeth and lacking any of the friendliness he had shown to them before.
It brings shivers down Fang's spine at such a sight.
It reminds him of that maniac Retak'ka.
āI'm gonna beat you guys at your own game,ā Solar says, his voice echoing throughout the hollow room, firm and resolute and just a slight too confident for Fang's liking, āI'm gonna show you all I'm more than worthy of these powers. I'm gonna stop you guys from conquering all those planets. I'll show you.ā
The declaration is so clear in its intent to the audience that it would be hard to be mistaken.
He's determined to win even when the odds are against him.
ā¦
Impressive. But grit will not be enough.
He watches as two Santriantar bots go to place those handcuffs on him, before the blindfold and ear muffs are placed over Solar's ears and he's shoved back into the small holding cell, to be taken to first aid to deal with his potential wounds.
Princess Kira'na however, is quiet, deathly so.
The generals watch her hidden expression as she motions for them to follow her, her skirt billowing a bit behind her as she does. They trail behind her, he and Gur'mida don't say a word, but Sari'ya is positively ecstatic at all the data she now has on the elemental hero.
āThis is brilliant!ā She exclaims, as she reads through the results the battle had shown her, āthe radiation is strong enough to even break our technology! Our sensors are completely fried, how utterly perfect!ā
That only means he poses a bigger threat than we thought. Thought Fang as he lags behind the other two generals when he notices Kira'na has done so as well. If he could easily demonstrate such a power at second tierā¦I am afraid what his potential could be in his third tier form.
SMAāSH!
Fang flinches at the sound of something like a wall breaking.
And it came from behind him.
Don't tell me that maniacā!
Fang immediately rushes towards where Kira'na was, powers at full force, ready to fight off the elemental hero that would dare commit such a treacherous act behind his back!
Except, there is no elemental hero, not a sight of orange or white or a blast of light whatsoever. Only shadows remained shrouded over him.
But he does see a flash of vivid red, along with it, a fist connected to a cracked wall.
His visors quickly adjust to the darkness, and it shows him a daunting sight.
His sworn sisterāher Royal HighnessāKiraānaās expression was twisted in an ugly sight of rage and hatred, her first bleeding if the sharp scent of iron said anything to him. The wall in front of her had cratered under the impact of her first, but what horrified Fang was the swirling mix of grief and rage in her eyes.
The same sort of expression she had as she held Uncle Kul'darās body at that battlefield.
ā
Fang walks to the medical bay in a daze.
His mind keeps flashing back to the look of swirling grief and rage on Kiraānaās face as she had held her fatherās dead body, watching Retakākaās figure disappear into the clouds, his sadistic laugh echoing in Fangās mind, searing into his head as he flies away from all the destruction he had just wrought upon their poor planet back all those years ago.
Solarās laughter sounded exactly like the fiendās own, all while he promised the defeat of Gurālatan once he finished the trials.
Did he mean to destroy them as Retakāka had? To finish them off in the same way? So much for being a hero, he sounded exactly like the villain had when their forces had met with him, all while he and his sworn sister were forced to watch.
It makes Fang feel ill, a horrible shiver runs down his spine at the harrowing memory of watching Kulādar be struck down, unable to do anything as Retakāka cackled gleefully.
But he will not let himself cower over the human, they had the advantage over him this time.
Retakāka had nothing to lose.
This one has everything in comparison.
A pool of shadows forms under his feet as he marches his way to the medical bay, his dazed over look steeling into his usual severe expression as the door whirrs open.
There he was.
Solar sits on the bed, being attended to by a robot as opposed to an actual doctor. Apart from the fact this robot was the only thing that knew how to treat humans, it was just to ensure that no other people would be hurt or held hostage by the elemental hero. Theyād never know what a cornered animal as unpredictable as a human would try, especially ones with powers that they had just seen the destructive capabilities of.
But rather than be greeted by a maniacal smile, heās instead greeted by a completely calm, rational human. Who raises his arms when the medical robot instructs him to, who leans into a thermostat to check his temperature.
Even when he could easily destroy the hardlight barrier that surrounds him on all sides with that same irradiated burst, he doesnāt.
Even when he could easily break out and escape back to his friends like how Retakāka escaped Gurālatan all those years ago, he doesnāt.
He just sits there obediently, and that completely baffles Fang.
He was expecting to have to face the same sort of monster Retakāka had been, the one that nearly had them all killed by radiation, notā¦this.
It wouldāve been so easy if that were the case.
So baffled was the general that he actually asked aloud;
āWhat are you doing?ā
Solar looks up at him, the menacing madness in those eyes are completely gone. In their place were placid white eyes, tinted orange by the visors he wears over them. He tilts his head in confusion as he sets his arm down when it is done being wrapped in a bandage.
āI am getting treated.ā He states the obvious, āsomething the matter with that? You can take it to the robots that transported me here.ā
Fang sputters, even more baffled, before he shakes his head.
āNot that.ā Fang clarifies, he approaches the still injured hero and looks him in the eyes, to make sure the other didnāt even try to lie to him. Solar stares back, his expression showing how uncomfortable he was with the proximity and intensity of the generalās eyes, but he doesnāt falter, staring back at General Pang.
āWhy have you not even tried to mount an escape?ā he interrogates, shadows toiling under his feet, āthe window of time between you being alone and my arrival may have been brief, but it was still time for you to escape, why have you not?ā
Solar frowns, āYou expect me to be cowardly and run? Donāt make me laugh.ā The elemental hero crosses his arms as he stares at Fang with an unimpressed stare, āI said I was going to beat these trials and beat you, Iām not backing away from a promise I made.ā
Fangās glare sharpens, āSo, you mean to destroy us all?ā
ā¦
Solar looks at him with wide eyes, āWhat?ā
āDo not play fools with me,ā Fang tells the other as the tendrils slowly rise from the pool under his feet and swirl around him defensively, āyou know exactly what you had meant when you said that youāll show us all your worthiness.ā
The tense atmosphere permeates between the two of them, or at least, it does to Fang. Solar continues staring at him with a completely confused expression, brows stitched together as if to ponder what it is that Fang had just said to himā¦before his face switches to realization and becomesā¦sad?
Sad?
What in all the galaxyās stars could warrant such an expression?
āIs that what you think of me?ā Solar asks, and the tone of disappointment disarms Fang enough that he sees the grief swirling in those white eyes, āis that what you all see me as? Do you all look at me and see Retakāka?
ā¦
That question completely catches Fang off-guard.
It gives time for Solar slowly approaches him, as much as he could given the hardlight barrier separating the two, and presses his hands against the vivid red of it, his frown only further carving into his face. Even with the space between them, Fang takes a step back at those hands that could laser in him half if it wanted to. If he wanted to.
āAre you scared of me?ā
Like you were with Retakāka? Is left unspoken, but oh so clear.
āI am not.ā
ā¦
Solar stares at him for a long time, observing him, unbelieving of the answer he had said aloud. And Fang does not like that, not one bit. The tendrils rise back from where they had sunken and swirl around him protectively once more, his posture is rigid and his face hardens, hands up in front of him, ready for a fight should the human give it to him.
But it makes the elemental hero sigh, he seems to have gotten the answer he was searching for.
āIām sorry.ā
ā¦
What?
āWhat are you apologizing for?ā Fang asks. Heās being thrown into all sorts of whiplash today, as he slowly lowers his hands. It doesnāt seem that the human wishes to fight at all, just sitting on the medical bed, slumped over andā¦defeated.
ā¦
āFor scaring you.ā Solar clarifies, āI didnāt think about it until just now, but I mustāve reminded you of him, didnāt I? I didnāt mean to.ā
Solarās eyes close as he remembers back.
He sees himself in the heat of the battle shortly after letting out his Radiating Burst, at how he basically brutalized all the creatures sent out to him, crushing their coresāsomething akin to their heartsāwith extremely deathly accuracy. And how he started giggling maniacally at all that he felt; how he felt so giddy because he was so full of power for the first time sinceā
āFOR WINDARA!ā
He shuts his eyes at the horrific memory, wincing like it stung him.
The very moment where he ceased to exist, and the element fully took over him, completely overtaken by the delirium his Tempest powers had given him, as he brutalized Reramos over, and over, and over. Laughing like a maniac all the while as he slammed him over and over with his own winds.
And oh, how good that felt.
He hated how good it felt to show that monster who was more powerful, to let out the feelings that he felt throughout the entirety of that mission; the mounting frustration, the peopleās suffering, their grievances, Princess Kuputeriās own desperation, he thought he embodied everyone at the momentādeluded himself into thinking he was doing this for the betterment of Windara.
It started out that way, at least.
But as he remembers the look of mounting fear on his friendās faces as the winds closed in on them, ready to tear them apart like it did to the tyrant, he was anything but the hero that day.
He had had a taste of power once, and immediately became the threat.
And that?
That was more horrifying than anything. He may have faced space terrorists, space pirates, space antagonists, really. But the most frightening thing he has ever come to face was himself with his own powers.
The potential they had.
And he never expected himself to have a potential for villainy, no.
He was terrified of his potential insanity.
Nova and Blizzard certainly didnāt help. They both nearly killed not only his friends, but the tumultuous trust between the tribes of Baraju, wiped out the good will their ancestors had established for so long, wouldāve wiped off their legacy as well, maybe even Baraā
Stop.
Solar blinks his eyes open, face still troubled, grim, but he fixes it back to a neutral expression as he looks back at Fang.
Thinking about what happened back then won't help you now.
āI don't blame you for being afraid, Iām afraid of myself sometimes, too.ā Solar says to try and comfort the alien in front of him, but it just makes the otherās brow furrow as well, like he was being made fun of. Solar could only sigh at the silence given to him. There was no point in trying to appeal to someone who was so verily against him.
He could only hope he would be allowed to be on speaking terms at least.
He's spoken plenty enough to people who would be vehemently opposed to what his heart truly desired.
āYou speak as if you know the potential terror you wield.ā General Pang tells him rather coldly, which makes Solar glare at him.
āI do.ā Solar admits, voice cracking at the end. I truly do.
āAnd yet you desire to keep them.ā
āBecause I care, general.ā Solar looks at the other alien, separated by more than just the barrier, it seems, āI care about all the people who live in this galaxy, this universe. And if my powers don't help me anymore, they can still help protect others. I have something I want to protect, too. And if it meant against Gur'latan? Then so be it.ā
Solar sits back down and grunts at the ache in his muscles from being so tense. The robot immediately takes notice and begins to massage the tension away. It's nice, he ponders why they don't leave this little guy in his cell with him. The cell was lonely to be in.
āAt least you and I see eye-to-eye on one thingā¦ā Solar quietly says, but Fang hears him all too well.
And while Fang wouldn't usually entertain such, he couldn't help but be curious at what he meant by such.
āWhich is?ā
āYou and I both want to protect what we cherish from what we fear.ā
