After some years of HRT I've been left with this deep, low simmering rage. Because what do you mean it was always this easy to be happy
I take a shot once a week, and even if that was too much, I could do it as pills, and so many of my problems just evaporated overnight.
And not one person thought to bring it up.
When I was talking about how horrifying puberty felt. When I was cutting myself. When I was in inpatient care. When I attempted suicide. When I talked for YEARS in therapy about how dissociated and trapped I felt in my body. When I felt like I never truly fixed something that was deeply wrong about me that started at puberty.
Not one person said it was a possibility. No one thought "hey, maybe this kid should go to someone trained to identify dysphoria". No one mentioned that trans people weren't some weird other group of people. It didn't have to be pressure. It didn't have to be "forcing" me. Just mentioning that trans people exist and it could be me. That it was possible and it was easy. No pushing, just laying the option out there.
HRT is treated like this last ditch option. This horrific, mutilating thing that I GUESS we can give to you if you have NO OTHER options. Because did you know it's permanent? Did you know you'll be on it for the rest of your life? Did you know the health risks? Did you know it'll make you infertile? Did you know that it's deviant? Did you know that it's an alternative lifestyle for other people?
No one said it was okay to WANT it to be permanent. Or noted that most people are reliant on the medical system in one way or the other anyways (and it's not even necessary for HRT). Or that the health risks are the normal parts of having that hormone, even in cis people of your gender. Or said it was okay to not want kids, or mention that you can just freeze gametes. Or acknowledged that the "deviant" people are just people, living their lives, that have been violently pushed out of "normal" society.
I grew up in an area that Republicans mock for being a kind of "woke central". And even then it's just. Not treated as an easy option. It was never on the table if you don't specifically already know you're going through gender stuff, and no one will help you get to that point. At which point, it's still treated like the last ditch option. Did you know you can be a feminine man? Did you know you can slap a "she/her" in your twitter bio and be done with it? Did you know that you're oh-so-valid without it? Did you know that you shouldn't take HRT? Maybe don't take HRT? Don't take HRT? Don't take HRT? Don't ta-
When you've been in it a while, HRT is the easiest, most casual thing in the world. Just pop a shot on a Saturday as part of your "everything shower" routine and you're done.
Anyways. Support trans kids always and forever.
And if anyone comes swinging in here with "but Sierra you don't have to take HRT to be trans this is toxic" I'm going to fucking scream, because that is the status quo. "Just do this without doing this" has become a "give them an inch" refrain when making ourselves "acceptable" to the cis. Of COURSE you don't need to take HRT. I'm only reminded of it a dozen times a day.

Reasons to take estrogen
Softer less oily skin
Less acne
Prevent male patern baldness
Less cleanup after orgasming
More free time (masturbating feels less urgent)
You can make new friends (membership to a new community)
More trans girls will wanna date you
Jiggle physics
It's something to do
Maybe you're bored
Be spared during the alien invasion and their purging of lesser lifeforms
It makes you smell nicer
More people will like your selfies
"I will never swim again until and unless I get surgery."
"This is why I try so hard to protect my trans sister, she has to deal with so much of this all of the time."
"And this is why I will never learn how to swim"
"I never go swimming, unless it's an event that explicitely mention that Trans Women are welcome"
And other such tags I am vaguely paraphrasing are ones I have had the horror of reading on my post. The trans girls are not swimming. It feels like there is a hole in my body where my heart should be, through which all my blood is pouring. I can't.
the wisdom ive learnt is that becoming part of a friend group 1) takes a long time and 2) involves a lot of feeling awkward and left out at first. thereâs nothing terrible about this but if you grew up chronically lonely or have any kind of trauma relating to social isolation this likely feels Really Wrong and activates danger signals. but both fortunately and unfortunately itâs just how becoming close to new people works most of the time
another thing that was not intuitive to me as someone who grew up an autistic loner: basically everyone on the planet is starved for connection all the time and almost everything people do is an attempt to reach out to another. most seemingly illogical interactions and behaviours can be explained by this. you have to take as many of these invitations as you can. even if you're wrong you still attempted to bring more warmth into the world
So you want to get a pussy
Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the dilator
Part one: The search
Iâve received several messages and questions from people asking for advice on how to get bottom surgery, and what theyâll need to do so. That advice usually begins with explaining how to find surgeons for their procedure. To do so you need to make a decision about how far youâre willing or able to travel, be it within your state or farther across the country. (While this guide is mostly restricted to the United States there are options available more affordably in other countries, particularly Thailand.) Once you are able to decide your travel boundaries you will start to have a better idea of what surgeons are available. Usually I will recommend that prospective patients google search âgender affirming bottom surgeons (selected area) to begin their search. You can also use https://www.transhealthcare.org/, or the transgender surgery reddit wiki at https://old.reddit.com/r/TransSurgeriesWiki/wiki/srs/usa which can be used without a reddit account. After finding a few possible options you should make sure to research them carefully by searching their name along with the search terms, âresultsâ, âLawsuitâ, and, âreviewsâ. Be careful to double check sources on negative claims and make sure that the articles arenât being written by known transphobes or anti transgender religious organizations. I also recommend asking around your local friend groups, transgender support spaces, and even your hormone provider for advice or recommendations. Local sources often have more reliable information than the internet. After youâve decided on one or two options youâll need to schedule a consult.
Part 2: The interim and preparation
Most clinics will have at least a 3 month wait time for a consult and sometimes up to a year so scheduling as soon as you can is essential to receiving surgery in a timely manner. Make sure to check the websites of your selected surgeons for information on scheduling an appointment. Some will have a form on their website allowing you to schedule directly while others will require you to call. I recommend using both options and calling to confirm that your appointment has in fact been scheduled. Make sure to request to be put on their cancellation list so you can take advantage of earlier appointments if available.
While you wait itâs a good idea to get your surgery recommendation letters in order. Due to (in my opinion unnecessary) concerns about liability and potential patient regret your clinic and insurance provider will require at least one letter written by a medical professional stating that you understand that vaginoplasty is a permanent procedure and confirming that you are in fact transgender. The requirements of the letters and the number of letters required is heavily dependent on insurance, so make sure to check your coverage documents before speaking to your therapist. I would also recommend beginning hair removal as soon as you are able. Hair removal can take up to a year and a half to complete depending on the methods used and the frequency of appointments, because of this it is essential to set appointments with this in mind. Most insurance companies will reimburse your hair removal for bottom surgery, but you should still be prepared to pay up to 200 dollars per session. There is some debate in the trans community about which form of hair removal to select when preparing for surgery. Some will claim that the only permanent option to avoid hair follicles in the vaginal canal is exclusive use of electrolysis. However most surgeons will state that either electrolysis or laser are effective to prevent hair follicles from forming. Whichever option you choose youâll have a head start on the surgical process and hopefully already be prepared for surgery by the time of your consult.
I've recently begun a surgical advice series on my surgery side blog for any one that might have question about how to start the surgery process. The first two parts were released today and will be updated with more information and more posts later this week. I genuinely hope that this will be useful for girls who may be anxious about the process or not know where to start. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Middle Earth doesn't even have plate tectonics. All the mountains were placed there by the Ainur or some shit. The shape of Mordor isn't "unrealistic" the world was intelligently designed by Catholic elf gods.
Also here is what the actual Carpathian mountains look like.
An oldie from last year that I had finished during Pride month.
Would it make a change if I kissed you for the first time?
I know you like me, I can tell the way that you always remind me every time our eyes meet I know thereâs something that youâre feeling for me The world keeps on turning, are you turning with me?

A Veil of Gold
trans women who can not have bottom surgery due to complications are still women. trans women who can not afford or attain bottom surgery are still women. trans women who donât want bottom surgery are still women.
reblog this to make a terf angry
More importantly: reblog it to make a trans woman feel better
not to sound preachy but iâve never seen anybody rebut âmake a terf angryâ with âmake a trans woman feel betterâ and⌠thatâs kind of tumblrâs attitude towards trans women summed up as concise as possible. more people should strive to be the second thing because the first is performative and lazy⌠thank u discourser-of-kruphixâŚ
reblog it to make a trans woman feel better
And also
Trans women who *do* pursue bottom surgeryâŚ.
Are not mutilating themselves.
Do not have âfuckholesâ.
Are not âan angel who lost her wingsâ.
Unable to accept their bodies.
Are not âbutcheredâ.
Are not being âfrivolousâ.
Neovaginas are beautiful, real, oftentimes come with few or easily solvable complications, and for some women, are the ideal way to alleviate bottom dysphoria.
Iâve seen a LOT of bottom surgery negativity recently, and Iâm trying to comfort myself through it- it takes years of work to get even in the best of circumstances, and every step of the way you have propaganda screaming at you and you want nothing more to hop off the train.
This speaks to me a lot and is honestly the main reason I needed to leave tumblr. Being on here made me feel like bottom surgery issnt something I could or should want and until moving to a new city and meeting new people I could just never understand why I felt so uncomfortable being intimate with people.
