okay listen I’m probably going to be clowned on twitter for this shipper nonsense but… the live action has expanded the blue spirit lore so that he’s a guy who’s been blessed by the spirits because he helps those in need and fights the wicked, right? a Robin Hood/righteous vigilante type of figure, right? and the Painted Lady, well, the name probably just sounded better than “painted woman”, but she’s a lady. They call her a lady. Okay? And we know from Zuko’s dream that there are at least a few legends where the blue spirit protects her. So we’ve got our commoner knight and our lady. Great. Coincidentally, our Blue Spirit will soon be in great aching need of trust and forgiveness from our Painted Lady. So I’m not saying that Zuko will be so wracked with guilt that he’ll swear, even as she hates him, to protect and aid Katara always. I’m not saying that such a narrative turn would not only satisfyingly fit with the paintedspirit symbolism and foreshadowing shown until now but also with every one of his actions post redemption (saving her father, bringing Yon Rha to her, TAKING THE LIGHTNING). I’m not saying Zuko sneering and calling Katara a peasant at the beginning of the show would be the perfect ironic foreshadowing because he’ll be her loyal knight by the end but but but but
