well yeah so ever since LEGO Star Wars The Video Game the series of action adventure games based on licensed lego properties were pretty much all done by TT Games and then a handheld version was released in the portable consoles of the time. so for every fun lego adventure with the character swap puzzles and the funny cutscenes and all your favorite characters from whatever thing the game is based on there was a version on gameboy advance, or DS, or PSP, or 3DS, and even the Vita got a few

nowadays we can't get this kind of treatment anymore because separate portable consoles with different versions of games just aren't a thing but I thought it was really cool back then how, for example, LEGO Batman on DS told the same story and had mostly the same ideas for levels, but had stuff in a different order and with different puzzles and elements than the console version. it had different suits and even some version exclusive characters!

most LEGO games have a portable version that has the same ideas but really different level design and graphics and I adore that. even LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens from 2016 had that!!! 2016!!! that's so many games.

and multiplayer is a very important element of lego games. and. most of these had multiplayer too! though to be fair I never got to try that out so I have no idea how it works
