You can;
love people.
not love your family but love your friends.
love your family but not your friends.
not love anyone at all.
love in your own way.
You can also;
Hang out with them for fun, still like them, still appreciate and/or respect them.
Not want to be loved back (being told they love you regardless of whether you love them back is...weird, sometimes.)
Loving someone means you have a connection with them. You want to be close and see them often. Makes you mean miss them when they're away. You trust them fully.
But, not everyone goes through this. Not even on a platonic or familial sense. Some people cannot love their family or friends. Cannot love romantically.
This makes them aplatonic.
Anyone can be born aplatonic. Or trauma may cause it. It doesn't make you a sociopath (though that in itself is not a bad thing, either). You can care about people, want them to be happy, have fun hanging out, help them out, and want a better world for people.
Care doesn't â To love. It is it's own thing, though it will also show through love.
How to know if you are actually atracted to guys or you are just brainwashed through heteronormativity letting you believe you have to give guys a go because you have some kind of connection?
This is such a good question and itâs really important for any woman questioning their orientation/attraction. Iâm going to explain the difference using three specific examples of times when attraction gets confusing, but there are a ton of different ways compulsory heterosexuality manifests, so if none of these hit on what youâre feeling, feel free to shoot me another anon.Â
Attraction vs. Compulsory Heterosexuality
Nervousness and BlushingA ton of romance media and common cultural tropes have this idea that you know youâre attracted to someone if youâre nervous or blushing around them. Because of this, you might feel like you must be attracted to a man if you feel nervous around him, just because youâre experiencing the physical bodily response youâve been told to expect, not because you actually want to date him. Actual Attraction: Youâre nervous because youâre excited to get to know someone. You find them attractive first and because youâre thinking about your attraction to them, you get self conscious because you hope they might like you too. Compulsory Heterosexuality: Youâre nervous because you are aware that he is attracted to you, and because heâs paying such close attention to youâ especially if heâs pushing boundaries or getting too close into your personal spaceâ you become self conscious because you know heâs watching you. You blush because youâre uncomfortable.Â
Hypothetical AttractionMany questioning women have a hard time sorting through their attraction because of hypotheticals. Our culture, in general, disregards or challenges wlwâs attraction and it gives this anxiety that we need to know 100% that we are not and will never be attracted to men no matter what in order to claim labels. Itâs hard to do that as a young person who is just learning about themselves, flooded with âwhat ifâs about the future. Because of this, you might feel like you canât rule out being attracted to men because you might hypothetically be attracted to one someday. Who knows?Actual Attraction: You imagine a hypothetical future where you end up with a man and it feels exciting and makes you feel good and hopeful and happy and right. Itâs a nice feeling and is comfortable to think about. Reassuring. Compulsory Heterosexuality: You imagine a hypothetical future where you end up with a man and it makes you feel uncomfortable, scared, sad, disappointed, wrong. Itâs an upsetting thing to think about and you hope it doesnât happen. You donât want to end up with a man even if you feel like you could.Â
Sexual FantasiesOur culture places a big emphasis on sex when it comes to orientation. Some peopleâs orientation includes sexual attraction and some peopleâs orientation doesnât, but most of us feel like our sexual fantasies are the most important indicator of non-straight sexuality because LGBPQ+ people have been so thoroughly reduced to sexual acts and sexual objects in the homophobic culture weâve grown up in. Along with that, weâve also grown up in a heteronormative and cisnormative society that repetitively teaches and reemphasizes the same singular sexual âscriptâ for how sex is supposed to go, over and over and over. They do not teach any others, and it requires non-straight and non-cis people to invent their own sexual scripts individually and with partners. But as a young person, when youâre aroused, your mind has a very limited template of potential narratives associated with that feeling, so many people default to the same heteronormative script in their fantasies because itâs unconscious and easy. Because of this, you might feel like you must be attracted to men because you imagine abstract situations of sex with men, even though you have absolutely no desire to sleep with men in real life. Actual Attraction: When you fantasize about men, it is because youâre attracted to their bodies or specific men or the idea of having sex with men. You imagine qualities of their body and you like the idea of what youâre imagining. If you think about the fantasy later that day, you might feel like itâs embarrassing, but you also feel like itâs sexy. Compulsory Heterosexuality: When you fantasize about men, it is mostly just enacting a kind of narrative. More focused on movement than featuresâ the men in your fantasies might be faceless or blank-featured or their bodies might symbolize some emotion. You donât really like the idea of what youâre imagining. You might not even be in the fantasy, but instead another faceless woman might be. You might even imagine yourself as the man. The narrative follows the sexual script, but the details are more vague and abstract and might even shift and change throughout the fantasy. If you think about it later that day, you might feel vaguely nauseated or uncomfortable or feel invalidated and wrong.Â
Itâs really difficult to unroot compulsory heterosexuality. My simplest advice on getting through it is this: even if you are attracted to men, you do not need to date them if you donât want to. If you only want to date other women, then you have the right to that. The rest is less important than the simple reality of what you want right now.Â
File under things that would have been helpful for me to have read many years ago. I could have saved myself a lot of time.
Romantic Attraction: A Checklist
Way too often I see people wondering if theyâre feeling romantic attraction or something else. So I decided to make a checklist based off my own experiences.Â
For the average person, aesthetic, sensual, and/or sexual attraction are intertwined with romantic, but I left out all the parts that could fall under other forms of attraction. (Example: many people feel urges to cuddle their crush. But cuddling falls under sensual attraction, so you can want to cuddle someone without being romantically attracted to them.)Â Hopefully leaving stuff like that out will help distinguish romantic from something else. But I donât think Iâve ever experienced platonic attraction so thereâs a slight possibility some of these could fall under that too and I just donât know it.
Like I said, this is based off my own experiences as a heteroromantic, ace woman. Others may experience differently. This is only a guide.
That asideâŚ
You might be romantically attracted to that person ifâŚ
- You think about them often. (If itâs major, you may even lose sleep.)
- Whenever you hear a love song, your mind jumps straight to them.
- When consuming romantic media, you imagine the couple as you and that person without meaning to.Â
- You âyearnâ for them. Imagine something youâve always wanted, but werenât able to get. Maybe it was a video game, or a trip to Hawaii, or a dog or whatever. You really really really wanted it, but couldnât have it for whatever reason. Or maybe someone was eating your favorite food while youâre starving, but there wasnât any for you so you had to sit there and watch. Multiply that âwantâ feeling by 3. Thatâs how you feel about them.
- You feel nervous interacting with them. The same sort of nervousness youâd feel at a job interview, except you donât need to feign enthusiasm when talking to them. (If anything, you need to stifle that enthusiasm.)
- You get self conscious of everything from your appearance to the way you say âhello.â If youâre more anxiety-prone like I am, youâll spend a good amount of time worrying that you said something weird and now they probably think youâre a weirdo which is just, BAD!
- You lose your breath when you see them unexpectedly. You may even have to fight back an excitable gasp. Imagine someone surprises you with something youâve always wanted. Itâs like that, though you may also notice your pupils dilating like when you leave a movie theater. This will improve your mood. Doubly so if they acknowledge your existence.
- Your knees get weak. You feel a pull in your chest (again, yearning). You have to force back a goofy smile around them to not appear âobvious.â (If this is happening during COVID times, you will be very grateful for mask mandates, let me tell you.)
- You feel this strange⌠tension in the air when you interact with them. Itâs not a bad kind of tension, but itâs there. You wonder if they feel it too.
- You know how in Disney Channel sitcoms or whatever, where the girl has a crush on a boy, and she and her friends get all jumpy and screamy whenever the boy so much as smiles at her? Thatâs a big Mood whenever I have a major crush.
- That dopey look cartoon characters get whenever they see the object of their affection? Also a big Mood for me.
- Youâre willing to do almost anything (within reason) for them. Youâll go out of your way to help them. If they ask you for a favor, youâll do it, even if itâs something you normally wouldnât do for someone.Â
- Hell, youâll go out of your way just to look at them!
- You think about a future with them, mainly as a married couple. You might even wonder what kind of parent they would be. What your children will look like. Even if you donât want to get married or have kids irl, the thoughts may plague your mind anyway. You wonder what your family will think of them. You wonder what their family is like as well.
- If youâre blessed enough to find their social media profile(s), youâll find yourself scrolling through posts from 3 years ago. Accidentally clicking âlikeâ on one of them is the stuff of nightmares.
- You have fantasies where they rescue you from perilous situations and/or vice versa. This can range from giving them a ride home after their car breaks down to the full blown âprincess locked in a tower guarded by dragonsâ trope.
- Speaking of tropes, I want you to think about every romance trope you can. If itâs romantic attraction, you will find some of those to be good fantasy material. You will naturally imagine you two in many of the scenarios, no forcing required.
- If you have to force any ~romantic~ fantasies, itâs probably not romantic attraction. The fantasies will come to you whether you want them or not. But you donât mind all that much because, free dopamine. (Might be different if youâre romance-repulsed/averse.)
Hopefully this helps someone out there!
Romantic ace culture is loving fictional couples with really sweet, healthy, loving, mutually supportive relationships, and having to deal with the fandom hating them because they're "boring" and "don't have any chemistry" (they do, they're just not eyefucking 24/7, not all chemistry is sexual, jfc), so there's never any fan content for them, you just have to make it all yourself. đ
There was a quote I saw, either some someone who had been abused or from a therapist, that said "after a toxic relationship a healthy one can seem boring".
Because what abuse or just toxic relationship can do is trick your brain into overvaluing little things that seem HUGE after something bad has just happened. And a healthy relationship that never needs to hit a fever pitch because you work things has a much softer "whew, it's all good" to it.
Which is absolutely why I hate calling any relationship, fictional or otherwise boring. In fiction "lack of chemistry" has a bit more weight, but I think it's important to remember boring and lack of chemistry are utterly subjective. But fandoms at times treat them like it's an objective fact, that inherently has a higher value than other things, and that's missing out imo

The basics of Beginning
Being a new witch is terrifying.
Some of us start early and donât realize it until much later.
We where the little children that dug up worms and gathered flowers and collected nice rocks and that read to many books and didnât belive a single word we read in the Bible (This last thing is a personal statement and experience). And then with sixteen, eighteen, twenty, twenty-five we rediscover magic as a part of our lives.
Some of us donât start untill we think that it is already to late to start with something new.
We have been doing the same practice for over a decade and it never felt quite right. We have a start-stop relationship with magic. We think it might just not be for us at all.
But now we want to start again from the very beginning and do it right this time.
Maybe you recognize yourself in those statements? Or meybe not.
Whether the above stated fits you down to the blood or not at all. A fact is that you want to be a witch.
You want to practice magic. You want to walk the croocked path. You want it with all your soul. Right?
When you are at this point of knowing that you want to be a witch but not knowing how to be a witch then the internet is your best friend and your worst enemy.
Everyone has their own opinion, their own instructions, their own rules. And none of them feel entirely right.
Donât curse, curse all you like. Use crystals, use wands, use this, use that. Have an altar, have a garden, have a cat/toad/bird.
But few people ever tell you to start with what you have. To do what feels right for you. To use what is at hand.
Ask yourself: what do I have?
Can I practice openly?
Do I want an altar?
Do I care about any gods? Do I want to worship any gods?
Do I want to use ⌠in my craft?
Is this really what I want to work with or who I want to work with?
Do I really believe this/that will work?
Ask yourself these questions and more! Question everything. Only use in your craft what feels right to you.
Write it down in your diary, your book of shadows, your grimoire, your whatever. Just write it down.
Write: This is awesome! I love it! It works so well for me! Iâll incorporate it into my craft from now on! Have to learn more! Research! Research! Research!
Or: That was terrible! Never again! Not my thing! Oh hell to the no! Nope! Nope! Nope!
Experiment. Fail. Try something else.
Be ready for the failure. Not everything is going to work for you. It doesnât matter if it works for every other person on the planet, if it doesnât work for you it doesnât work for you.
Not everything is going to be available to you either.
You shouldnât try to force your way into something thatâs not meant to be for you. That doesnât mean you have to be dense about it tho.
Knowledge is attainable. Talent or The Right to something is not.
(Be respectful please. Some aspects of a closed practice or religion should not be used unless you are a part of it)
Also be ready for the Argumentâ˘.
Some people will tell you that everything you do is wrong and that the only way to do it right is to do it their way or not at all.
This can be discouraging especially if you are just starting out.
Always remember that people that say things like that arenât relevant or important.
They donât want to help you, they just want to be right about something for once in their life.
The point of this post is to tell you that you donât need a garden full of herbs if you canât have one. That you donât need a wand if you canât make one. That you donât need 30 different herbs or crystals if you canât afford them. And that a pot will do just as good a job as any cauldron ever will.
Also:
My pointers for new witches as an overview
Work with what you have
Do what feels right
Use what feels right
Follow your own path
Be ready for failure
Be ready for the Argument â˘
Itâs never Your craft vs. Someone elses craft
Follow your star, or donât
Your craft, your choice!
Now go out there and be a witch.

THE TRAINS HAVE CARTOON TAMAS ON THEM
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away⌠An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the catâs funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who havenât read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. Sheâs now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now Iâm crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially âsecond tamaâ or âtama IIâ) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
Iâm crying at 11pm over train cats
Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.
^Nitama majestic, and below with Yontama
Yontama.
a legacy
okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because itâs a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back
âSun-tama-tamaâ (a pun off of âSantamaâ, lit. âthird Tamaâ) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tamaâs successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, âI will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.â [25]
As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tamaâs Twitter account.
Every time I see this post thereâs new info and it gets better
You are only allowed to scroll pass this after you pay tribute to the great Tama Station masters.

I wanna tell you guys a story,
Not too long ago, my friend Bella came out as aromantic to me, and now Iâve got some things to say.
I was the one who told her what aromantic means, because I was explaining different sexual orientations to her. I remember saying, âAsexualiy is when you have romantic attraction, but no sexual attraction.â
Bella immedently, without missing a beat, asked, âIs there an opposite to that?â
I asked what she meant, and she asked if there was a term for sexual attraction but no romantic attraction. I told her about aromantics. She got weirdly quiet, then excused herself.
Not two weeks later I was heading to my boat. I was supposed to meet Bella and another one of our muteral friends there for a day of fishing.
As soon as I was in earshot, I saw Bella storming off the boat, and our other friend standing there like an idiot. Boi had no idea what was happening.
Anyway, Bella isnât looking where sheâs going and walks smack dab into me. Thatâs when I realized she was crying. Puffy red eyes, wet cheeks, the whole nine yards⌠And if you know anything about Bells, she does not cry. Ever.
Sheâs been through some serious crap in her life, and she does not cry. Sheâs tough as nails. Bella has a steel core. She does not not cry. Iâve seen her fall off a roof and break her arm before, not a single tear. I canât stress this enough, Bella. Doesnât. Cry.
So seeing her in tears shook me. I took her by the shoulders and escorted her somewhere more private where we could talk. We ended up in the womenâs restroom, which was weird as fuck for me, because havenât been in a womanâs rest room for years. Luckily it was empty, and Iâm realistic, I know I donât pass so well, so I donât think anyone would have said anything anyway.
Before I can even ask her whatâs wrong she hugs me around my middle and burys her face in my hoodie. Then, in a voice I can only describe as traumatized, she says, âI think Iâm broken.â
Iâve never seen her in so much pain, and Bella and I are CLOSE. Sheâs one of my dearest friends. Sheâs like my little sister, but if sheâs like my sister, our other muteral friend is like her twin. He and Bella have know each other WAY longer, theyâre practically inseparable. They come as a pair. Theyâre a duo. Theyâre a package deal.
Appearently, said muteral friend asked Bella out and forcefully kissed her. She shoved him off, and told him sheâs aromantic, which she only recently figured out. She wasnât ready to be out, but this muteral friend left her no choice. She tried telling him no, and he didnât listen. Bella saw no other option.
Quote on quote, this is what he said to Bella. âThatâs okay. You just havenât dated me yet. Weâve been like, unofficially together for years. Youâre probably just freaked out that itâs finally going somewhere.â
After that Iâm not 100% clear on what happened, but apparently Bella kept saying no Nd trying to explain herself, but he kept insisting he could âfix her.â
Eventudally she started crying and stormed away. Thatâs when I found her.
Keep in mind, this was her first experience coming out, and her best, closest friend insisted he could fix her and forcefully kissed her. I found out later he also implied corrective rape would âsolve the problem.â
Bella was traumatized. Sheâs still traumatized. I tried to make her feel better by buying her an aro pride shirt, and taking her go a local LGBTQ+ hang out. I wanted her to be around like minded people, so she could see she wasnât broken, and her identity deserved to be respected.
Instead of a warm, welcoming environment⌠The first thing someone said to her was, âThis place is for REAL lgbt people. You donât belong here.â He also implied she wasnât human.
Just think about that for a minute. Her first experiences with being an out aromantic have been limited to;
A person she trusted more than anyone forcing himself upon her, claiming she was ill, and needed to be fixed. (Raped.)
Sobbing in my arms in the womenâs restroom because she thought she was broken and defective.
Being told she wasnât welcomed in LGBTQ+ spaces and called inhuman.
This isnât what I want for her. Bella deserves better than this. She needs a support system, not all this crap. Iâve spent the past week trying to undo all the damage exclusionists, arophobes, and people she trusted did.
Aromantics and asexuals belong in the LGBTQ+ community. You literally cannot change my mind.
Did I already queue this? Dunno. But let me say that Iâve never stood by while gatekeepers try to well, gatekeep.
I didnât put up with it as a teenager really into sci-fi, I didnât put up with it from the dude bros in game and comic shops, and I certainly wonât stand for it in my LGBT+ community.
Aces and aros are welcome in my community.
You bet your ass that aces and aros are allowed here. And you can fight me if you donât agree.
Reblog if you think aros and aces are inherently queer.
Fuck Iâm at a fencing tournament and literally a minute after I reblogged this my dad told me that he talked to the point people and Iâm probably going to win a medal.

I'M A SAP OK
THROUGH A RAPISTâS EYESâ (PLS TAKE TIME TO READ THIS. It may save a life, It may save your life.)
An Article from Neena Susan Thomas
âThrough a rapistâs eyes. A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interviewâŚed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:
1] The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun! , braid, or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed. They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.
2] The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women whoâs clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors around to cut clothing.
3] They also look for women using their cell phone, searching through their purse or doing other activities while walking because they are off guard and can be easily overpowered.
4] The number one place women are abducted from / attacked at is grocery store parking lots.
5] Number two is office parking lots/garages.
6] Number three is public restrooms.
7] The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to a second location where they donât have to worry about getting caught.
8] If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isnât worth it because it will be time-consuming.
9] These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas,or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands.
10] Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys youâre not worth it.
POINTS THAT WE SHOULD REMEMBER:
1] If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk: canât believe it is so cold out here, weâre in for a bad winter. Now that youâve seen their faces and could identify them in a line- up, you lose appeal as a target.
2] If someone is coming toward you, hold out your hands in front of you and yell Stop or Stay back! Most of the rapists this man talked to said theyâd leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back. Again, they are looking for an EASY target.
3] If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes,) yelling I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.
4] If someone grabs you, you canât beat them with strength but you can do it by outsmarting them. If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm between the elbow and armpit or in the upper inner thigh â HARD. One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it; it really hurts.
5] After the initial hit, always go for the groin. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guyâs parts it is extremely painful. You might think that youâll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause him a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble, and heâs out of there.
6] When the guy puts his hands up to you, grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible. The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.
7] Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, donât dismiss it, go with your instincts. You may feel little silly at the time, but youâd feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.
FINALLY, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE AS WELL âŚ.
1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do: The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do it.
2. Learned this from a tourist guide to New Orleans : if a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM. Toss it away from youâŚ. chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car: Kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver wonât see you but everybody else will. This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc. DONâT DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU CLOSE the DOORS , LEAVE.
5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
a. Be aware: look around your car as someone may be hiding at the passenger side , peek into your car, inside the passenger side floor, and in the back seat. ( DO THIS TOO BEFORE RIDING A TAXI CAB) .
b. If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
c. Look at the car parked on the driverâs side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out. IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot).
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!
8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP IT! It may get you raped, or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked âfor helpâ into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.
Send this to any woman you know that may need to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it and itâs better safe than sorry.

Ragazze di Successo
TITOLO ORIGINALE Gokujo Mecha Mote Iinchou!!
