I ain't giving any spoilers for the final act, but Imma talk about the experience of going, damn it
My phone was on 1% when I arrived so it was turned off for the entire movie
For the past several years, I haven't gone to see a movie in theaters until like towards the end of the theatrical run. It's been a long time since I've been in a theater with so many people.
The cheering and the excitement and being with all those lovely people was so good.
There were details in the animation that I noticed for the first time on the big screen.
THERE IS AN AFTER CREDITS SCENE!!! DON'T LEAVE RIGHT WHEN THE CREDITS START!!! YOU"LL MISS SOMETHING!!!!
There's also a QR code for like early access to merch at the very end. By the time I got my phone on to try to catch it I was too late
That being said, I probably wouldn't be buying the merch until my paycheck comes in, anyway. By then, it'll just be like a week until the finale drops on Youtube. I'll live (unless some of the merch I really wanted turns out to be, like, ONLY available through that theater QR code. Then I'll be kinda bummed)
The theater was hot and malay junior mints melted together
As I left, saw a lot of people coming in with tshirts for TADC and at least one for Murder Drones. Also some cosplay including some a REMARKABLE Caine cosplay
Amazing. Wonderful. I already wish I could watch it again.
A couple DID bring their kids, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a "animated movie must be for kids so lets see that" kinda thing. Maybe more of a "kid watching the Simpsons or Family guy with the parents" thing. Like, I heard one of the parents talking to the kids about how they liked Kinger.
