Might soon be taking on a coworker's leopard gecko that is having issues with her eyes, which from what I've been learning can be an early sign of vitamin a deficiency. Coworker is going to try artificial tears and supplementing but if that doesn't work I'll be taking her home. She's 5 years, has been apparently healthy up to this point. First point in my care would be vet exam, bloodwork, and a fecal test for crypto.

Craving more berries while my legs are still tired from getting berries yesterday. I'm unsure whether there's any decent berry spots within walking distance, and also I'm out of breadcrumbs again as well. Going to get some from the grocery on bike would be an option, but it's summer out there and I don't want to get scorched and sweaty.

I make what I call blueberry mush: 1/4th sugar, 1/4th breadcrumbs, 1/2 crushed blueberries. Every year when there's blueberries out there I go feral for them. Yesterday I had no breadcrumbs left to mix to my delicious blueberry hoard of the day, so I ground up a goddamn old dried up bread loaf end with a stone mortar and pestle for the crumbs. Proper 1800s type of shit. A friend of mine called this "caveman wife material activities."

i hate to ask when there are ppl with greater needs in worse circumstances, but: my emergency savings, which i've been using to pay for medical and psychiatric appointments while unemployed the last 3 years, are on their last legs. i just lost a huge chunk because my mum lost her job and asked me to pay her money i owed her so she can pay for emergency bladder removal surgery next week. i have 2 psych appointments this week, totalling about $650 to treat my "treatment-resistant" Major Depressive Disorder. i am trying hard to keep money in my emergency account because I won't have any insurance whatsoever from October. i know i haven't been publishing any writing or podcasting lately. i am sorry. the financial, personal and emotional toll of these last few years has hollowed me out in so many ways. but if you are in a position to throw me a couple of bucks and you want to help me cover half these appointments this week - literally anything so i don't have to dip as much into the last dregs of my emergency funds - i'd be so grateful.
