“You mean to tell me, that despite being alive for what amounts to possibly a thousand years, you have NEVER built a pillow fort?” “That is what I said.” “Get all the pillows and blankets in the house that you can find, we’re building one.”

"Nya has made it no secret that you have skills regarding cutting hair, and I don't have enough money to pay for it to be done professionally!"

"I'll pay for it, better to do that than to have me mess up!"

"Please, Kai?"

The man in red sighed and looked up at the teen before him.

"Fine, but if I mess up, you aren't allowed to complain."

"I'll just shave my head, wouldn't be the first time I did it."

Kai led the teen to an unused side room and opened the door. Inside was a large mirror and a myriad of miscellaneous boxes both labeled and lacking labels. He picked out a box covered in stickers and a large covering of tape that was scribbled on with a red marker. The teen could only assume it belonged to the fire ninja. He handed them the box and grabbed the mirror, leading them to another room.

"Ok, what cut do you want?" asked the brunet, trying to open the box of mysteries.

"Can you do this? If not then we can find something else..."

Kai looked at the photo the teen was showing him. He wanted to say that it looked easy enough, but experience has shown that every time he says that, it turns into a disaster.

"Remember, if I mess up you aren't allowed to complain."

"You can't be worse than the stylists in my realm, trust me."

"All right, then let's get started. Sit down please."

"Lloyd, Jaden! You two are right on time!"

"Why wouldn't we be? I even left early so I could get Jaden from the estate."

"I was having such a nice dream too..."

Kai laughed, spun into a kneeling position with practiced ease, and threw his hands in the direction of a doorway nearby. The brunet put on his best announcer voice and directed the redhead to appear.

"Woah!"

"Ceri! I almost didn't recognize you! You got a haircut?"

Ceri blushed at the compliments, he really did enjoy the experience. Kai was a lot nicer and careful than the stylists back home.

The birds were chirping and chatting up a storm in the early stages of dawn.

The frogs in the pond were discussing their own business and singing their songs.

The guardians were lounging about, sleeping peacefully and dreaming their dreams.

It was quiet.

Jay was trying to hide his head under the covers from the sun peeking through the window.

Nya was already dressed and closed the curtains for him, telling him that she would return to wake him after her run, but spoke no louder than a whisper.

It was quiet.

Lloyd was already awake, making sure he was prepared for whatever was thrown at him today.

He left a note on the fridge for Zane, listing what he thought the others would like to eat when they woke up.

Zane was already in the kitchen when the youngest left for his run. He made sure to read the note for later.

He brought tea for the ones who refused to sleep, chuckling at how it seemed to be a shared trait.

The general refused the tea, preferring someone else's style of making it. Cole happily accepted, enjoying this part of the routine.

The pair invited the nindroid to join them, he accepted.

Kai waited by the door for his sister and brother. He made sure that both had their gear and set the pace for the morning.

The others followed, playfully teasing him about his habits.

Pixal was the second one awake, making sure she could run her tests undisturbed by the others.

When the brunet decided to watch, she asked if he could assist her in repairing some faulty wiring she found earlier.

He agreed.

Cause like... thinking back to season 4 for a specific example, when Jay and Cole had to fight each other, Jay was freaking out because he thought he didn't stand a chance against Cole, and then Neuro reveals that Cole also thinks Jay doesn't stand a chance. But like, if Cole knew just how powerful Jay is when he isn't holding back, then I don't think he would think that. Because even though Jay would never use his full power to fight Cole, no matter how mad he was at him, Cole might not see it that way and would probably have that tiny amount of doubt telling him, "Jay could literally kill you with his powers, you should be worried." And yeah, that's still pretty early on in the grand scheme of things and it's possible Jay could have said something to him at a later point, but idk.

And the other thing is that even if Jay did tell them, would they even fully believe him? Because Jay can be really dramatic about things so I feel like it isn't too unlikely to say that the other ninja would kinda downplay what Jay tells them. Cause if Jay said, "Hey guys, you don't understand just how strong my powers are. I constantly need to be holding back and it can be really exhausting sometimes." The other ninja might think of it like, "Yeah, we all need to hold back sometimes and all of our powers have some sort of strain on us, it's not a big deal"
