But I was wondering how in the dream AU Floyd was captured and what was the initial reaction of finding he was gone when Hickory and Dickory returned from the world tour, like did they have ANY leads as to where he might’ve gone?

I think I've posted exactly three things alluding to this way early on in the AU's existence, including this older ask here

I haven't thought too much about the details of Floyd's capture but he definitely wasn't taken by Velvet and Veneer directly, maybe a nebulous poacher or something that happened to come across him and brought him to some Mount Rageous black market (spotted their campsite—Floyd and Hickory were crossing through the hinterlands when Dickory showed up to grab Hickory)

Hickory doesn't take it well

(comes back after days apart to find their camp destroyed and his boyfriend nowhere to be found? What was he supposed to think?)

Dickory's actually the one who spots the fading trail left behind and deduces (hopes) that Floyd was taken by something, that they don't necessarily have to fear the worst! Even if they still do.

and they have exactly ONE potential lead they can follow after the initial trail runs out, but it's not one either of them wants to pursue until they literally have no other choice
