Since everyone is raising an eyebrow at the idea of weeaboo Asgore, I'm gonna make a new post about a bunch of stuff I talked about regarding Asgore from the last year:

#1. Asgore, owner of the gosh durn flowershop, knows about Kris and Us/The Soul

#2. The man has been covertly communicating via Floriography with Kris/someone else, via the flower arrangements he’s been leaving all over town/giving to Kris

And for those of you who want the weeb explanation right fucking now:

now that last one there? Hana Otoko? Hanaotoko? Ok buckle in party people

So 花男 means "flower man" right, but it also sounds very close to 花言葉 aka Hanakotoba which means "flower language" and is also the name of japan's version of Floriography aka the art of communicating via flower arrangements that all have different meanings

What does Mr. Dreemurr seem to do a lot of in his free time?

Sans seems to be implying, in both english and japanese, that Asgore's flowers are more like prisoners then "friends" huh

"The flower man, trapped in an asylum" look at how (what we assume to be Asgore) has his hands positioned on either side of that flower, almost covetously

If you view it that way, then the meaning of that prophecy window could mean that its not Asgore who was/will be trapped somehow, but litterally a flower man being held against their will by Gorey instead

He keeps them in glass, both protection and prison. And guess what else i found while looking for stuff in the text dump?

I thought this was related to the dark crystal shards, and it still could be (it would make sense with everything we've seen so far)

but after rewatching Asgore and Sans talk about his plants and the under glass mention, combined with the fact that these flowers seem to be being held captive? And Asgore is seriously up to some sneaky shit on top of all that?

I think the Fun Gang needs to have a chat with these flowers like right now

cos its very possible that Asgore doesn't want certain flower truths to be know by pesky kids who can go into the dark world and talk to things they can't in the light world

Yes, Spamton lost everyone he thought cared about him. Yes he faced homelessness and poverty for years and that’s terrible for him and that trauma probably led to a fair amount of his present behavior. However. Living in a dump is not at all what would happen from Tenna being thrown away.

The game likes to reiterate that Tenna being thrown away is effectively dying. Being on the street “in the junk folder” vs Literally Being Hauled Out Of Your Home To Be Destroyed Because You Weren’t Good Enough At Making Your Family Happy levels of difference.
