Okay! Time for a new pinned post. The old one is here. I'll keep this brief â a couple of housekeeping notes, then a taglist under a read more.
I'm LeaJoyWrites on ao3, btw.
Please let me know if I miss something on any of the following. I may forget to tag, misinterpret a post I reblog, or fail to check my internal biases. I do want to be told, and I will make an effort to correct my mistake.
I try to tag warnings thoroughly.
This blog should be a safe space for sex-repulsed people.
I have no tolerance for bigotry, and exclusionism is bigotry.
I write, write about, and analyze texts containing sensitive topics. I try to approach this in a sensitive manner, and again, I try to tag accordingly.
I do not discuss real-world events in my blog much, but I'm not strict about it.
My approach to fandom moralism is "live and let live." I do actually have a complex moral philosophy, but its application in online spaces is just "if it's not intrinsically harmful to an actually existing person, there is no moral issue with it."
Related to the above, I am very much so against censorship.
Fandoms and taglist below the cut! Fair warning that I do not format it as just a list, and I do ramble.
one of my most-used tags is #hellyeahmeta, which I use for meta-analysis posts written or at least op'd by other people. I sometimes forget to use this tag, so some meta analysis posts are tagged as meta. I tag for specific character meta, specific fandom meta, etc..
some other tags I use for different kinds of (especially non-fandom) meta are #meta squared, #fandom meta, #fandom etiquette, #fandom things, and #meta meta. I'll (probably) come back and actually link these at some point, but rn you can copy+paste them into the search bar in my blog to the same end.
a couple of tags I use for a specific flavor of character are #beloved bereaved burdened burned and #beloved bereft bereaved. I mostly used these tags early on in my blog, and I used both for Jason Todd (second Robin, Red Hood) and the first one for Five Hargreaves. I think I specifically started using them because of web weaves, but I don't remember exactly.
tags like #funnies, #not fandom related, #relevant for life, and #cool things -> exactly what they say on the tin. #miscellaneous is more or less synonymous with not being fandom related, but it's a tag I use more often because I'll drop it onto a post when I don't have the bandwidth to properly tag it but don't want it fully untagged.
#tumblrisms -> self-explanatory if you've been here for a while. If you haven't, it's sort of like... there's a set of phrases, in-jokes, and classic viral posts that you learn on tumblr by a sort of weird osmosis, so it's basically just stuff related to that. I personally use it as a sort of anthropological archiving tag bc I wanna note whenever people do it.
Okay, this next part is actually a list; it's my blog-specific "[my username] [does this]" tags and then fic tags for when I talk about or post pieces of said fics, prompts, etc.. there are fandoms I've posted fanfic for that I don't talk about on tumblr, but that's beside the point.
#leajoyfics
#leajoyprompts
#leajoymemes
^I'll probably have more of these later, but I doubt I'll have many. Next part is fics/fic series with fandom and very brief synopsis specified in parentheses
#bury me in broken glass let me see the sky (no fandom; horror-tragedy flash fiction)
#it's too late and it's just getting later (Danny Phantom; existential horror + vivisection, hurt w/eventual comfort)
#rh and jl no good deed (dc fandom; pseudo trope-subversion + character study)
#Project: HOLLOW (The Hollow; govt. experimentation au)
#forgive but don't forget to hold a grudge (Wednesday [netflix] AU where Tyler gets to be saved, rather than blamed + character study of multiple characters)
Next part is a few AUs I came up with for Ben 10, which I don't want to write because I have too many projects going already, but which I also do want to write because [insert keyboard smash here]. Alphabetical order. (as of when I'm writing this, I only have one post that goes over all of these lmao)
#A.T.E.M. AU (AF s3e15 Time Heals doomed timeline is partially remembered by the trio)
#Ben10 G3 AU (Classic s1e11 A Small Problem Graymatter almost getting dismembered scene -> Graymatter does get dismembered but he comes back from the dead immediately and doesn't tell anyone)
#Redemption Arc Makes Things Worse In This One AU (UA s2e18 The Perfect Girlfriend is followed by the nanites being removed and Elena being cured, but Ben is terrified of her now because holy shit levels of stalking and violation of trust)
#Technopath Stalker AU (Ben's personal life is filmed for months and snippets released on the internet in a power trip/attempt at humiliation/grab for glory/etc.)

Shout out to my mom who explains my transition as "Having a daughterpillar turn into a Boyterfly". It doesn't erase the fact I was an adorable little girl, and also affirms my gender now. I love my mother.
that would be so cute honestly. she doesn't understand this Earth tradition at all, of course (at least the first few times), but it's colorful and it's a parade and these people are more chill about aliens than most large groups of humans she's encountered, so she's having a blast. also she heard that it originated with a "riot" which is the human word for a really good time, so of course she's intrigued!
the second anyone poses a threat to this wonderful party, she's dogpiling their ass with her duplicates (and very nearly baking them to death like that one species of bees).
also, a wonderful conversation that would happen as Exextra asks about the flags (and oh boy would she ask about all the flags)
(I'm writing this like she just got to earth and it's her first Pride, okay? okay)
(uh. trigger warning for very brief, very lightly implied potential accidental inbreeding? it has to do with Splixson lore I made up. idk.)
Exextra: Oh, flags! You humans wave these as you march into battle, yes?
Currently Unidentified Person (CUP): Uh, yeah. Well, these are mostly to represent our community, y'know?
Exextra: Ah. And why are there so many different types?
CUP: Well, there are a lot of different queer identities, so the flags represent different ones. Uh, this one, with the rainbow and the striped triangle? That represents the whole community, trans and intersex and all sorts of sexualities, and especially people of color in our community. Uh, I don'tâ I don't think we have one specifically including extraterrestrials yet, but you're definitely included!
Exextra: Fascinating! Tell me about all of them!
CUP: Uhâ right, so...
[CUP explains all of them, and also introduces themself as Fig.]
[Fig gets to the aro flag.]
Exextra: I see! On my planet, most people are like that. We mate to reproduce and for the physical pleasure, but no one mates in any emotional way or bonds for life. It wasn't until I went out into the galaxy and met lifeforms who do this... marriage and romance that I realized that's what I wanted. Many other Splixsons have seen these things and are not interested in them, but I find them enrapturing.
Fig: Oh! So you're, like, queer on your planet in a way that you're actually not queer here. Neat! Uh, there isn't a flag for being, like, reverse aro or whatever, but I'm sure we can find something for you! And if not, you can always carry a standard Pride flag â that's the rainbow one with the striped triangle, remember?
Exextra: Excellent!
Fig: Wait. So, like, you don't have to answer if this is totally insensitive, but like... if the parents never stay together, which one keeps the kid?
Exextra: Oh, the parents both leave before the egg hatches. Eggs are laid in special places, and that's also where the elderly go to die, so hatchlings are raised by the elderly until their feeble years have ended. That takes... perhaps fifty of your earth years? And then we are fully grown, sexually mature, and ready to live on our own. We are considered normal adults for about five hundred of your earth years, after which we return and raise some hatchlings for the last ten earth years of our life before passing them off to the newer elderly arrivals. It's quite a simple system.
Fig: ...ah. Well. Okay then. [freezes] Wait. How do you... like, make sure whoever you're mating with isn't, like... a relative.
Exextra: What in Azmuth's name is a relative?
but anyway, yeah, she would love Pride. thanks for the ask!
Are you going to add anymore chapters to bury the blade? It is one of my favorite fics of all time. :3
thank you so much! that's a compliment I honestly did not expect to be receiving, wow
okay, so, short answer to the question: yes, I am!
longer answer:
I am going to add more, but I don't know exactly when. I have a couple of vignettes in the same 'verse, which are basically just scenes/snippets during the bedridden phase of Ben's recovery, but I frankly haven't fully decided on how I'm gonna do the ending/resolution.
part of me really wants to make it a long-form fic, like, with a bunch of character study-type chapters at the forefront and the recovery plotline as a sort of... background through-line? I guess? my muse takes me where it wants to, and while I definitely like both "bury the blade" and my undisclosed ben 10 fic from hell, the inspiration for specific scenes just... isn't really happening right now, so I'm doing some writing in other fics bc that's where my muse is actually cooperating.
buuuuuut........ since you asked, and since I've already shared a couple of lines from this little scene for an ask game, I'll go ahead and share a scene here! whenever I actually post it on ao3, it'll be as part of a series of vignettes that either functions as an interlude chapter or a companion piece to "bury the blade." this scene is mostly fluff and comedy with just a tiny bit of whump, but I digress.
enjoy!
"Jesus, Benji, they cut you off your meds or somethin'?"
Ben grunted and didn't bother looking at Kevin; he was too busy trying to breathe through the burning in his stomach. "Just moved wrong," he said through gritted teeth, which was technically true. Scratching an itch directly on top of a cauterized wound was a wrong move, and that's why Rox was looking at him with precisely zero sympathy. Kevin didn't need to know that, though.
Speaking of KevinâŚ
"When did you get here, anyway?"
"Two seconds ago." Kevin moved his arm, and his hand came into Ben's sightline holdingâ
"Smoothie! Yes!"
Kevin laughed, lowering himself to the floor by Ben's bed. "Easy, hero. You can't chug it laying down."
"Of course not," Ben said easily, still beaming. "I'm gonna savor this one. What kind is it?"
"Guess."
Kevin moved the straw to Ben's mouth, and he was too happy about the smoothie to feel embarassed about basically being hand-fed. He tasted it. Hm⌠a sweet flavor with a sour edge⌠a little bit of a spicy kick at the end⌠it tasted like strawberry, pineapple, mintâŚ
Ben laughed. "You got me the tropical blood-sucker supreme? Kevin, that's terrible."
Kevin just grinned. "Hey, I wanted to get you the baby food one, but Gwen told me that would be mean. So this one was basically her idea. I wouldn't have to resort to blood transfusion jokes if she'd let me make fun of you being bedridden."
Laughing hurt, but it also felt really good. "You are such a jerk."
"Well, yeah. Didn't you say that's why we got along?"
He had. In fact, he had said that right after they both nearly murdered each other multiple times, so this was pretty tame in comparison.
"Correction," Ben added, "I said we're both jerks. Jeez, Kev, did all those blows to the head finally catch up with you?"

Maybe Exextra would flirt with Ben to mess with him?
maybe. there are kind of three ways this can go though
Option One:
In this scenario, Exextra was originally attracted to Albedo (in part) because she was attracted to Ben. I think Albedo would be... a little bit possessive in that scenario, and she'd have some mixed feelings about that past attraction. She probably wouldn't flirt with Ben for any reason in that timeline, but I don't think we've talked much about that possibility.
Option Two:
Exextra and Ben are frenemies, and there's no real attraction bc she fell for Albedo's mind first, so the flirting is lighthearted and meant mostly to irritate him. In that scenario, he'd probably flirt back, if only because the options are humor and discomfort, so he'd choose humor. This has the bonus effect of annoying the hell out of Albedo.
Exextra, actively holding a box of stolen weapons: *bats eyelashes* Hey, handsome, you here for a good time?
Ben-as-XLR8: *cracks knuckles and smirks* You offering?
Albedo, chucking a grenade at their exit: I hate both of you.
Option Three:
Exextra and Albedo are, like, actual bad guys, or Exextra really doesn't have a good concept of boundaries, and her flirting is explicit and makes Ben extremely uncomfortable.
Like, using her knowledge of Ben's body via Albedo to deal massive psychological damage. He drops a boulder on his own head because she says something about how cute she thinks his X-shaped birthmark is, but said birthmark happens to be on his inner thigh, and he literally recoils in shock and disgust before remembering the five-ton rock he was holding.
He really, really hates fighting her in this timeline/scenario because, like, physical damage? No big deal. Fighting someone who's been intimate with his clone? Hell no.
the thing about media literacy is that understanding why the author chose to specify that the curtains are blue is the same skill set as understanding that the way the author characterizes all black characters as angry or all chinese characters as meek and silent is racist. it is the same skill set as being able to identify when a news source is biased or when someone is feeding you propaganda. the ability to ask "why did this person choose to present this premise in this specific way?" is a critical skill in a world full of misinformation. why are the curtains blue? maybe it's a characterization detail. maybe it's extraneous worldbuilding. why is this character written as being right all the time? maybe you're intended to disagree with them. maybe it doesn't matter. maybe you should still ask why.
You know what, actually I think there is an argument to be made that Cass would like Jason, why? Because her strongest association for him is Stephanie Brown, who she fucking adores. If Steph had snapped and killed black mask instead of holding back because of what batman told her and getting killed when mask uses her mercy to turn the tables, I don't think Cass would've dropped her, even if Steph doubled down and continued to kill villains, I think she would've fought with her and it would've been messy and painful and terrible and heartwrenching but it would've been all that because the love would still remain. I think all the reasons Steph makes Cass laugh or feel seen would be similarly resonant (if necessarily different because they'd meet at different points in their lives and he wouldn't be cass' first real friend/girlfriend) if she was to actually spend any time with Jason. I understand having her hate Jason because of their diametrically opposed philosophies really I do, but I think it would be ten times juicier if Cass keeps coming at him expecting a fight and then he'll just act so Steph-like that it leaves her unmoored and struggling to recalibrate in time for the moment when he does do a Red Hood thing. I also think it's important to keep in mind that Cass sees herself as a murderer whose life is worth less than that of anyone she can save, her m.o. with criminals is to either see them as obstacles to beat up or to project on them and try to redeem them in order to subconsciously redeem herself, and Jason first and foremost isn't just a killer, he's a murder victim, he's a kid who was beaten to death and hates his killer, Cass, with all her fantastically interesting neuroses is more likely in some scenarios to position herself as the joker/the murderer whose victim wants her to pay than to one dimensionally condemn Jason for his sins.
Like don't get me wrong I can also think of a lot of scenarios where she swallows down the party line/whatever Bruce (or Barbara's) spiel on Jason's character is at the time and acts accordingly treating him like a thug or just another rogue, especially considering she follows along with the treatment of Steph in an attempt to protect her because she 'wasn't good enough/was going to get killed like jason' and trusts them. But acting like the only possible outcome of Cass and Jason's dynamic is hatred is to utterly ignore the nuances of the characters in question and their deeply personal/trauma-based relationship with their respective beliefs when it comes to Justice and Murder.
#cass deserves more than to be the bludgeon jason antis use to beat him up for existing
#she has bigger problems
#why do this when you could instead have her beat up red hood in a nightmare and pull the helmet off only to see a bloodied/dead steph
#[all caps] give her hallucinations and psychic yuri damage [end all caps]
#she should be at the club #kicking the shit out of someone in the bathroom for groping a girl who looked like steph #and then spot jason and follow him looking to stop him from doing crimes or whatever #but instead he's threatening someone for spiking drinks
#and then they like catch fire inexplicably because this is comics and so they have to work together to figure out why the fuck that happene #while sniping and bantering the whole time and cass is aching inside because she has missed this and it's wrong
#it's not steph but it's the closest she's gotten to her company in weeks #and jason is just [question marks] random asian girl who's not in costume has decided to help me with a case - would be weird anywhere but gotham
#also also also#they are both passively suidical #so they should do that at each other but the other doesn't clock it as weird so they just continue on #while the henchdudes in the background are [question marks and exclamation marks]
+bonus tags from Magpie
#there's so much interesting potential with those two
#soooooo many ways you could make them interact
#there are [capslock] options and regardless of which one you take there is [capslock] pathos and there is [capslock] drama
Referencing something OP said to add another point:
Cass, with all her fantastically interesting neuroses is more likely in some scenarios to position herself as the joker/the murderer whose victim wants her to pay
so this is an excellent point and it made me realize something. Both Jason and Cass are exactly the kind of person the other is trying to save.
Cass goes after murderers (and thinks of herself as one) â and Jason was murdered.
Jason goes after predators, abusers, etc. â and Cass was abused.
Itâs an oversimplification, but it really does seem like Jasonâs primary group-he-tries-to-protect is kids (because he was a kid who was adultified and put in danger and tortured and killed), and Cassâs primary group-she-wishes-she-could-protect are people who have been killed (because she is forever haunted by, herself, taking a life).
And the fun thing here is that both of them are suicidal. Passively and on occasion actively. So while theyâre both self-destructing, theyâre both also trying to save each other.
And Cass, whoâs convinced that she is the villain because the blood is on her hands, rejects the foundational reason that Jason has for sympathizing with/wanting to protect her â that she is and was a victim.
Meanwhile Jason does acknowledge the reason that Cass sympathizes with/wants to protect him is true (he was murdered), but he rejects the notion that the death itself was the atrocity. To him, the worst atrocity is the continued perpetuation of the exact harm that killed him resulting in more victims. Itâs not that he has a grave but that his loved ones seemed to spit on it.
So Cass sees herself as a murderer, but Jason sees an abused girl who deserves better. And Jason sees himself as a monster a ghost motivated by unfinished business, but Cass sees a murder victim trying to reclaim life. They both see themselves as autonomous agents willfully causing/having caused harm, and they see each other as the victims they are trying to prevent.
I mean there's so much to interpreting Ben as trans already. Like that also being a part of this narrative only makes sense. Obv not intentional but like. Okay what makes more sense, a boy who is canonically smaller than 80% the other male cast, I think only kid in omniverse flashbacks to still be dubbed by a woman instead of an adult man trying to sound younger which makes him stick out like a sore thumb and is CANONICALLY IMPLIED TO HAVE A UTERUS LIKE HE WAS STILL PREGNANT AS A HUMAN, is to get body dysphoria, or to get randomly addicted to cocaine by the age of 11.
Not to mention his alien body euphoria came with instant, painless transition in the transformations, had him skip puberties/adolescent eras as those aliens because he is REPEATEDLY mistaken for an adult from ages 10 and up (Tini thinking he's an adult tetramand at 10, passing as Bivalvan who is an adult when Ben is 16), and instantly has superpowers
Even the fucking DOG is euphoric, and I get it; You ever run up the stairs of your house on all fours? Shits magical as a child. Ben got that but actually being quadrupedal.
Also dying at the uterus thing; it really is either Ben actually had that to hold his eggs or the Omnitrix was still pumping the pregnancy hormones in him when he's detransformed. Buck wild
YES YES THIS THIS ALL OF THIS!!! Overall omnitrix seems to be just the perfect super power for a trans person, and Ben 10 as a show does feel like a transmasc fantasy to me. Like even the future episode where he meets his older self and he looks so cool and perfect and tall and a pinacle of masculinity?? YEAH. Especially as Ben 10000 doesn't even feel like a natural progression from teen Bens, considering how he almost doubles in height which is a little silly UNLESS we do consider magical space testosterone, which is rather likley considering I think I heard it is canon (I got no sources so take it with grain of salt) that omnitrix did alter Ben somewhat which allowed him to end up as Ben 10000
Like so much about Ben feels like it's about transness, honestly it blows my mind how much they did unintentionally beacuse I would have to activley try to come up with a character that's so esentionally trans yet it's not all they are about and I'm litearlly genderfluid and all my closest friends are transmascs. That shit is NOT easy and they just pulled that off efortlessly, propably not even conecting the dots. Okay.
Also thing is, I don't think omnitrix pumping hormones into Ben would be the weirdest thing it ever did, however, those didn't seem to be Necrofriddgean hormones. Like Ben didn't get weird cravings for metal and like chew on aluminium foil, or have an urge to make a nest out of his bed. No. He had goddamn pickle cravings. I DON'T THINK NECROFRIDDGEANS EAT PICKLES. So either Omnitrix was being SUPER quirky and producing hormones suited to human pregnancy, or bro's got an uterus
I like to headcanon that Benâs sudden beefiness as Ben 10K is a result of the Omnitrix overcorrecting his appearance because he spent so long as aliens and never himself in that future it doesnât know what to return him too after all the passed time, so it overcorrected into Muscle Man. This includes ULT Ben who is just, ultimated.
The classic shapeshifter body horror of âI donât remember what I look likeâ but itâs still in Benâs favor bc âFuck yeah, alien tech T and bottom surgery!!â
Heâs all too happy with the Omnitrix, best thing that ever happened to him. No Watch Ben is cursed to bind and do his hormone injections like a normal FTM and hate how boring his life is without superpowers. Rip NW! Ben

More on that Ben v Rook thing on the Humans Are Space Orcs Idea and stamina where Benâs human traits bleed into his alien transformations and thereâs something terrifying about any one of them just slightly nudged towards persistence predator traits/habits.
Like, Iâm sorry, but what do you mean the species that famously took over its planet and outcompeted the other sapient life there by exhausting things to death can now turn into anything between a Vulpimancer and a goddamn Celestial Sapien?? What do you mean it can hunt me for days on end as an Ectonurite because his transformation doesnât burn in sunlight? What do you mean he has a one of its kind species thatâs barely visible to the naked eye because of its size (Nanomech) that shoots lasers and flies around?
Worse still if he uses an Echo Echo or Ditto strategy because humans are also terrifying in packs and Ben can be one all his own.
yessss this exactly! The Omnitrix would be formidable in the hands of many lifeforms, but humans? Who drink poison for fun? And put holes in their bodies for style? And rearrange their mouths with metal anchors and wire??? Like????
Humans in the Omniverse arenât noted as being particularly strong, fast, agile, or smart. But it is heavily implied that humans are uniquely creative, given Azmuth says Ben used the Omnitrix in ways he himself had never considered. Itâs also generally shown that particularly strong beings lack some agility, particularly fast ones lack strength, etc.. They tend to rely on whatever trait they have the most of, which makes sense, since that trait probably evolved for a very good reason.
But Ben? He makes good use of all the abilities he works with, not just because the abilities are powerful but because he knows how to use things like leverage, friction, momentum, etc. to his advantage. Humans, due to not having super abilities, are better equipped to use their environments in physical altercations.
And also, since humans are more prone to injury than, say, tetramands, things like recovery time and pain tolerance will be way higher!
Humans are also used to traveling in a way that requires reaction time much higher than what we would need while running (see: riding a bike, driving, etc.). So it also stands to reason that someone used to having slower reaction time than their vehicle would, when their reaction time is proportionate to their vehicle (as in, any species with superspeed Ben can become), they would make better use of that reaction time! Not because a human would be better at being a kinecelaran, but because a kinecelaran wouldnât have the experience of compensating for a lack of speed. If that makes any sense.
Anyway. Thereâs this narrative of âhumans suck and are super weakâ that shows up a lot in sci-fi, which is part of the reason I like âhumans are space orcsâ in general, but even in a universe where humans arenât considered particularly tough (like the Omniverse), the ways humans adapt to lacking certain things gives them an advantage whenever they have those things.
And thatâs why Ben is, in the form of any given alien, capable of beating that type of alien in combat.
(And also the âpeak physical conditionâ thing, but Iâll point out that he beat a female tetramand of royal ranking in OV, explicitly stated to be naturally stronger, so clearly he can work around a disadvantage).
(The constant adherence to sexual dimorphism in the worldbuilding of the Omniverse is its own rant. Iâll leave it for now lol)
Do you think Exextra could run a restaurant alone?
I think Exextra would be incapable of customer service long-term, but she could manage the back of house work if she learned enough about food prep, cooking, baking, etc.
If she ever tried serving, hosting, or bussing⌠yeah, no. Sheâs prideful, so sheâd piss some people off really quickly by being a smartass, and when they asked for the manager, sheâd show up and back herself, and the restaurant would accumulate terrible reviews for customer service.
She also probably wouldnât be interested in working at a restaurant in any capacity, unless it was a front for some sort of over-the-top heist setup.
truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if sheâs sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if sheâs perhaps worried sheâs a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and thatâs enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said sheâs here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then sheâll make another one. I said âisnât it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?â and she just looked at me funny and said âwhat do you mean? The whole world was here, waitingâ. Some people, I tell you.
Been thinking a lot about Mad Benâs Rook⌠Like imagine if your evil tyrant had a doppleganger that freed you from his reign, put you in charge of the planet, and told you to stop swearing
#and also knows youâre using your peopleâs specific version of swearing#bc I think we can assume Revonnahgander culture is not mainstream#in this universe
itâs a shame more vampire media doesnât pull from vampire bat behavior because theyâre such sweeties. they can only survive their incredibly specialized diet because bats will share blood with colony members that didnât find a meal! thereâs evidence that suggests the donors sometimes initiate this behavior themselves by approaching hungry bats! the colonies are mostly harems of females with a few males but theyâve been observed letting unrelated males in when it gets cold so they can all stay warm! cute little social critters!

I never know if I'm answering the same Anon, but I try not to assume what anyone remembers, so sorry if I mention something you knew about!
Oh, absolutely. She's a hopeless romantic, and by headcanoning Splixsons as majority aromantic, I hit her with the aro angst beam and made her reverse aro. somehow. because that's a thing.
(in all seriousness though I think it's conceptually interesting to think of alien lifeforms for whom queerness has a very different form â like in a species that mates for reproduction but not partnership, wanting romance would be uncommon; in a species that can change sexes based on environment/preference, not being fluid in gender identity would be uncommon; etc. etc.. like. queerness is culturally informed, and culture is biologically informed, so queerness looking very very different on different planets is something that makes perfect sense for the omniverse. I digress)
So I think, in the same way that us aro folks sometimes emphasize how much we love our friends or like alone time (as a way of reinforcing our identities and distancing ourselves from the expected/majority perspective, strengthening our connections to other aro folks, etc.), a rare amato Splixson like Exextra would really emphasize her romantic relationship, not because she devalues friendship but because it means so much to her that she was able to find what she was looking for in the first place.
(this is me hitting her with the aro joy beam by making her reverse aro. in case you were wondering)
Also, marriage has come up before! I think the general idea was her being the one to propose, and also them probably getting married in prison so that they could get it legally recognized. She's the one to initiate most milestones in their relationship, but Albedo never minds because he's totally gone for her (and terrible at hiding it).
The weird kink I think Exextra be into would be group stuff
ngl this made me cackle a little. I'm bumping this ask up in my list bc it's related to a post I just made responding to another ask, for anyone who's wondering.
I agree that she would be, but again, I don't think she'd consider it weird, and I don't think any other Splixsons would, either. Also, I know it's implied in OV that Galvans are monogamous, but a) that's lame and b) they're basically frogs so that makes no sense. So I don't think Albedo would find it too weird, either.
Honestly, I think she'd consider "group stuff" a default, rather than a kink.
(slightly nsfw reason under the cut â not really explicit, just slightly nsfw)
I feel like she'd default to the option where she experiences multiple orgasms at once, y'know? She's not really worried about hedonism or purism or anything; she's a pleasure-seeker, not a moralist.
See: she's an intergalactic thief almost entirely for the love of the game because she's a drama queen
