Gwayne never desired women or men

Did question if he was gay at one point and felt immense religious guilt over it

Prayed to the seven every night to not be a gay man (tried to pray the gay away)

Came to realize that not only did he lack desire for women but also for men

Around 20 was when he accepted who he was

Was thankful in a small way that he was knighted to avoid having to get married right away

Also thankful that Otto did not care enough about him to arrange a marriage for him

Began to devote himself to the chivalric code as it made him feel most comfortable

Has had many women try to persue courtship with him all to no avail

He always treats the women with the utmost respect and lets each and every one down gently

Rumors do spread about him being gay though with the lack of evidence the rumors never go far

Gwayne simply just enjoys being a knight and raising his nephew

Daeron questioned him when he was little over not being married

Gwayne simply said that he was content with his life and did not want to marry

Daeron has tried to mention various ladies around the kingdom to no avail

I never really thought about Michelangelo headcannons much until I stumbled into his aro/ace theory. Personally, I loved it.

Just like Donatello, he hasn’t shown much interest in others, other than his family and friends. He’s a very colorful, sweet lil guy. (We don’t talk about Dr. Delicate Touch or Dr. Feelings 🫥) Unlike Donatello, he loves affection and interaction. But it’s never to flirt or to gain a partner. Instead it’s a way to show that he cares in other forms of love.

As some of you are aware, there’s sometimes a stereotype that aro/ace and those who experience some form of it are usually seen as cold-hearted and mean. Small reminder that it’s not true. There’s all kinds of mean and nice people in the world.

I like the idea that Michelangelo could represent the aro/aces that love to interact with others and snuggles and cuddles. While I do still like the loner aro/ace characters, it’s nice to have the ones that like hugs and lots of friends and going out. It brings more variety and color to characters and stories. That, and there are aros and aces are like Mikey when it comes to socializing.
