Sorry I started sobbing uncontrollably when you expressed the slightest concern for my lack of human connection, and casually mentioned you think I deserve better than a life of isolation and loneliness. Super weird. Not sure what was up with that lol. You still think I’m cool and mysterious and sexy, right?

Hello! for the ask game I like #s 1, 14, 19, and 20 for Louise because she is my favorite. Dealers choice for answers. I hope you've been doing well!
thank you! 😊❤️
What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?
Louise was born from general frustration with the sorts of characters comics Jason is stuck interacting with, and those he never does, what felt to me like obvious opportunity forever left by the wayside. I discovered her by her absence. Where are the con artists. Where are the incidental criminals. Where are the battlers down in the dirt with his roots, the regular gotham folk next to whom he is not the charity case but just another guy. Next to whom his heroics aren’t a disappointment but astounding. Where is Louise.
What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?
I love her sense of humour. I hate her sense of humour. Louise is funny. That means I have to be funny. Why did I do this to myself?
Bonus question: share any additional thoughts, art, favourite scenes, anything you've been waiting for a chance to ramble about
Alternate Scene be Upon Ye (under the cut)
Character asks!
These are more focused on the background stuff rather than the usual "what would the character do in XY situation" kinds of asks. I've been looking for something like this for quite a while and in the end decided to make my own. Feel free to use, go wild, enjoy
What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?
How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)
What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?
And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?
How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?
What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?
What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?
What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?
How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?
What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?
Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?
Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?
Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?
Do you have any quotes tied to the character, either from the story itself or from another source that fit them?
Have you ever made a moodboard for them?
Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?
Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?
Does the character have other characters connected to them? Do you have a family tree and "offscreen" connections made up for them or do they exist in a vacuum purely for the purpose of the story?
What is your general favourite thing about the character? What is your least favourite?
Bonus question: share any additional thoughts, art, favourite scenes, anything you've been waiting for a chance to ramble about
Helloo, just wanted to say that I come back to your fics every time I come back to the DC fandom (which is right now); they're amazing, and I really like how you write Jason and your OCs (especially Andrea, I actually found her character to be refreshing in how down to earth and "soft" - but not sheltered - she was.).
Can I ask if you're working on a new Jason x OC project?
And regardless of that, can I also leave you a prompt here? For headcanons or prose or vignettes ! Jason with a werewolf OC. I think it would be very healing, even if he has to deal with a lot of shredded pillows, bite marks, shedding and someone who's even more possessive/territorial/clingy than he is :D He likes coming home to a ball of fur in front of the fireplace.
thank you 🥰🥰🥰
I'm not currently working on any projects, I'm going through a recharging phase right now.
Awesome prompt! I like my ladies with some bite to them but subject to things they can't control, and I like it when Jason and his partner are narrative foils for each other.
A werewolf living in Gotham is one step away from Arkham, no matter how well behaved. There's an obvious metaphor for neurodivergence there I'd probably lean into, they aren't always in control of themselves, and Bruce would pathologise their condition and want to medicate it away, people will treat them with fear and disgust just having the condition named, and they have to deal with their own internal struggles on the frontline of their condition. All of this Jason can relate to keenly. And also big fluffy dog :D
I wouldn't make them a rogue, I'd go the Angua of Discworld route of making her as trying so hard to be good under very trying circumstances, possibly even full Angau/Carrot in how she relates to Jason. He wants whats best for her. He believes and supports her whole heartedly. Sometimes she cannot bear it. But she can't let him go either.
hi, i hope you're doing well! i read for the hell of it recently and loved it so much, it has been on my mind ever since. couldn't and still can't bring myself to read jason/louise (i tried!) bc i love andy/jason so much... will you tell me more about andy, your headcanons of them, and how you feel about them nowadays esp in comparison to your other jason/oc pairings? do you have a favorite? i so hope that maybe we'll get more ficlets about those two specifically in the future!
Haha, i don't blame you, not everyone has the heart of a multi-shipper. I operate on a shroedinger's shippers model. All couples are equally canon until I open the word doc.
I typically write women who are bold and brash, active rather than reactive, so Andy was quite a departure for me. She was initially designed to be a reader insert before i changed my mind and gave her a name, but that's why she was inobtrusive and reserved in the early days. It became a distinct part of her characterisation and narrative, and I love how she turned out. It was lovely to play with a softer character who wants to be protected, in spite of her life experiences.
Headcanons.
Andy gets a job as the curator of a museum in New Orleans which is incredibly haunted. She doesn't mind, since Jason swung through with the all-blades and chased out all the mean ghosts. As she is a skilled and thorough historian and the ghosts like her, she accidentally becomes Jason's go-to for whenever he has to research some cursed artifact or needs to know about something that happened way back when. She doesn't think of herself as a medium, she is extremely down to earth, she thinks of it as having excellent access to primary sources.
Her mom tried to get in touch once. Jason quietly made sure the message didn't get through. He felt bad about it and eventually admitted to Andy what he did. She took the overreach really badly and slept on a friends couch for a week. They reconciled and she forgave him, in exchange for a promise never to do anything like that behind her back ever again.
It took a year before he worked himself up to discuss why he reacted so badly to the re-emergence of an absentee mother. Andy was a lot more angry about the details of his death than he expected. It touched him.
Jason loves their life together in New Orleans. He misses Gotham. He is happy. She is happy. He plays guitar badly and she walks Marlow without fear. She misses Gotham. They get married in a chapel surrounded by friends they trust on a hot and humid day. They buy a house. They make a home. They will never stop missing Gotham.
They never go back.
rough night? 🩸

honestly i think the selling point of romance for me (and where it usually fails to land) is 'can i imagine these people sharing an in-joke'
like, are they in cahoots. can they laugh together. do they have a similar enough or at least complementary enough outlook that they can connect over something being funny (even if it's funny in a fucked up way! sometimes those are the best in-jokes!)
that's not necessarily true love in and of itself, but it does feel like an essential component to me
Hey!!! I hope you are doing well :)
Just wanted to say that your fic wuth louise and jason was one of the first i’ve read in DC fandom and it lowk changed my life. genuinely. your writing, plot and characters development, the both of them being such a deep, interesting characters. Like, i wish i was lying, but i probably cried 5 times during reading your work (and re-reading it at night because i missed it), and it touched me so deeply 😭 Can’t wait to read your next works!!!!!
And idk if it’s weird, but can i ask about your writing — what books shaped you??? because books mentioned in this fic were top tier and i would trust your taste in books 10000%.
Sooooo yeah, i hope you always get whatever you want because you deserve it lol
Thank you so much, this really brightened up a pretty grim week 😊
Books! Excellent question. My three favourite books/series in the world are the Lord of the Rings, Discworld, and Pride and Prejudice. I was a massive Lord of the Rings kid, I started writing because of those. Its not just the epic scale but the quiet character drama and grief and hope that plugged directly in my head and made my brain light up. Pride and Prejudice made a confused, not very girly little girl go, 'holy shit, romance can be good????' and Discworld because you gotta laugh a little or what are we even doing here.
And because we're talking Jason and Louise, I hold that Jason puts Pride and Prejudice on a pedestal but his heart longs for corny paperback romcoms. That man loves a disposable airport novel.
Louise is a sporadic and random reader, its not really habit. Someone will recommend something to her, she'll see a reference in a newspaper or see a cover in a shop window, and she'll go 'yeah alright,' and tear through it in an hour. Then she'll sit and stare at the wall as it settles deep inside her and her life is subtly rearranged. That's how she ended up reading Once Were Warriors on the one year anniversary of Gary's death, and House of Leaves while at the hairdresser.
happy valentine’s day i want chocolate

Hi there.
did you write the fic about jason todd and the magic reader or magic oc? If it's not u, just ignore this. But I just want to say I've really thoroughly enjoyed it, I remember reading it back when it first came out and I LOVED it but recently I gave it another read, and i just wanted to say how much i still love it 🥹 and your writing. I just might be one of my favourite fics to this day. Thank u!
Thank you 🥰 that sounds like my fic Shelter from the Storm! but its not the only one in the genre, could have been someone else too.
let's give it up for emotionally constipated women. let's give it up for women who can't think about being vulnerable without throwing up in their mouth a little. let's give it up for women who don't have the words to say what they feel even if they wanted to
