Anyway it is such a unique experience having a friend group of mostly immigrants. Back in Portugal, all my in-person friends were Portuguese so it did feel a little bit lonely at times with certain experiences. I didn't realize how much so until today. We had people from the US, Portugal, Moldova, Serbia, Poland, and Germany and it was so wild to meet as mostly strangers and leave as friends because of being able to bond over similar experiences, and comparing cultures and upbringings.

People can be so different from one another but we're also incredibly similar no matter where we're originally from.

It's not really a secret that I associate Retsarra pretty heavily with the story of Icarus (albeit with a happier ending), but my latest favorite song has been Icarus by Shawn James, and there's this part of the lyrics that's SO Retsarra to me
