Back during pride month, the football team I support (Corinthians) decided to make an instagram post celebrating LGBTQ+ pride day. This was the post they made. Do you notice anything missing?

That’s right, the green stripe on the pride flag has been removed. Because Corinthians’ biggest rival, Palmeiras, has green as its main color.

Corinthians said: you can be queer, but we draw the line at being a Palmeiras fan.

Fun fact: in the early 2010s, when Corinthians was building its new stadium, the president of the club wanted to dye the pitch grass black to make the stadium completely green-free. Unfortunately the Brazilian football federation wouldn’t allow it

To compensate for this, Corinthians will sometimes edit the green out of the grass in its social media posts

When the women’s team played a rivalry game against Palmeiras at the Palmeiras stadium (where absolutely EVERYTHING is green), the social media posts were in black and white (which are the Corinthians colors)

Modern Age sidekick backstory: Remember your high school sweetheart from that one flashback adventure in 1973? Well she's dead so you don't have to worry about it, but guess what: the one time you did it, she ended up pregnant and didn't tell you. The baby was raised by a shadowy conspiracy of your most marketable villains, who kept them in a hyperloop bubblespace so they grew up super fast while also going through unspeakable torture and being raised to hate you. It's okay though after one appropriately dramatic fight you hug it out and the new Marmolad is instantly born.

Marmolad II was the result of a very unfortunate early 2000s continuity reboot, where they decided his name was actually Marmalade and he was orange-preserve themed. They retconned him out of existence five years after he was introduced. The fandom doesn't like to talk about it.
