A story in pictures of ISTJ falling behind in schoolwork
A new low for my lack of spatial awareness..... I accidentally pushed theĀ ācall for helpā button in an elevator today because it was right next to theĀ āclose doorsā button. My eyes saw the āclose doorsā button. My traitor hand pressed theĀ ācall for helpā button instead.Ā (But seriously, why that design choice? And why was it the same color as the other buttons?) -INFJ
Hey there MBTI demons, itās me ya⦠ISTJ (that joke worked better in my head, it really did).
Welcome back to a whole new season of goofs, jokes, and funny quotes from your favorite pair of nerds. I know INFJ already said hi again to you all, but I wanted to drop in my own salutation and wish everyone a happy August! Itās almost back-to-school season aka my favorite season and we are thriving.
It broke my heart to be away from you lovelies for such a long time, but life happens and people change. Sometimes they grow apart and sometimes they grow back together, too.
Although unlike INFJ I havenāt really discovered anything life changing since we last spoke, I have started college and that is a change in and of itself. I know that I shared a lot of my insecurities with you all in the past (#oops) so please know⦠theyāre all still there. However, I finally started seeing a therapist-in addition to a lot of other positive changes- and self improvement is the name of the game.
So hello again my dears, drop a line, send us your thoughts, pander us with your ponderings⦠welcome back to the party. Weāre only just getting started.

Hi guys!
Itās been a long time. ISTJ and I have both had pretty tumultuous lives the past few years and got out of touch with each other, but we are back and stronger than ever.
Reading through this blog has given me so much joy because even though itās only been 2 or 3 years, I feel like a completely different person. I also discovered Iām a 1w2 and not a 3. And a Hufflepuff, not a Slytherin.
Stay tuned for more shenanigans, because weāre back. :ā) Send your burning questions if you have them.

How do other ISTJs get along with ISFJs? Iām just curious because my mom is an ISFJ and we hardly ever see eye to eye. For example, my dad died almost three years ago and our responses to this have never been the same. I compartmentalize everything. With my mom, everything is interconnected. My grandmother is staying with us for a while and my mom is always talking about how āthis is so hard because grief and all this stuffā (not actually what she says, but sheās tying this stuff with my grandmother in with the stuff from my dad.) Whereas I am more āthis is whatās happening with my grandmother. The stuff with my dad happened a long time agoā¦Iām not sure how the two things are similar.ā ā¦Re-reading this Iām not sure how much the example will make sense to all of you but my question still stands: how do other ISTJs get along with ISFJs? -ISTJ
ISTJ here. First of all I have to say that I love your blog! :) Your posts are the best, and I enjoy seeing the parallels between your posts and my own friendship with an INFJ.
I happen to know two ISFJs really well. The first is my dad. We used to get along alright, but I definitely donāt see eye to eye with him anymore mainly because Iād find myself wrapped up in arguments caused by misunderstanding. More recently, Iāve learned how to scarcely interact in a way that doesnāt ārock the boatā too much, so I probably appear pretty cold towards him. Not too proud of that. :/
My second ISFJ I know well is my younger brother. While he is often unable to read situations accurately and can be overly sensitive as a result, I adore his friendship. We get along extremely well and have many mutual interests. Weāre both quite busy with college now, but when we can we like to catch up by just talking, playing a video game, or watching a movie together.
As much as the two of them are a fair bit alike, their differences stand out like night and day. Iām sure I have the capacity to be on good terms with both of my ISFJs. Iām just not a fan of the tension that comes out of repeated miscommunication.
I have the same situation! Iām an ISTJ but have an ISFJ mom. Sometimes we donāt see eye to eye and she doesnāt under stand why I do certain things.
Wow, I kind of forgot I ever wrote this post, to be completely honest. I'd like to report that stuff with my mom and I has gotten a lot better in the past year. We've learned how to communicate better with each other and although we still don't always see eye-to-eye on certain things, we've also learned how to respect each other.

ISTJ Ramblings
I love being an ISTJ, I really do. I love being analytical and doing lists and schedules. I love signing up for/doing as much as I can. However, I have a problem of overwhelming myself or getting overwhelmed easily when I have a lot going on. Where I am in my life right now, there is always a bit of uncertainty and a lot going on.
So I guess what Iām trying to say is that if youāre feeling overwhelmed, crying on your stairs right now, youāre not alone.

We're Alive
Hey everyone! Both INFJ and I have been pretty busy over the past couple months and we apologize for our lack of posting. We're also not promising to get any better, however, this week we're actually in the same city at the same time so we might have some antics to share! -ISTJ

2017
Hello, all! Happy New Year! INFJ and I both wish all of you the best possible year. We were discussing our new yearās resolutions and decided to share them here. Feel free to comment/reblog with your resolution if you have one!
INFJ: My new yearās resolution is for this year to be about me. That sounds so simple but like I mean everything: stop giving fifth chances, donāt take on too much, donāt let myself off easy either, LEARN TO FLYYYYY XD
ISTJ: My new year's resolution is to not be afraid to emote. In speaking, writing, everything. I shouldnāt be afraid to be obviously passionate about something, or to talk about my dad etc.
hello, my brother is an istj and I'm an infj, I'm older than him and it is sometimes really hard to communicate with him and just get him, he's young and well, I don't know if you guys could help me understand him, haha I don't know if this makes sense, anyway, I hope all of you have an amazing day/night (-:
Hi there! Sorry ittook so long to respond to you ā weāve both been buried underschool and work and family obligations.
I think that whathelps me to communicate with the ISTJ is to understand ourdifferences, more or less. Sheās much more straight forward anddirect than I am, and much more detail-oriented. Iām a little moreā¦flappy and roundabout. This doesnāt necessarily go for all ISTJs orall INFJs, but I think itās an important understanding between usthat helps us to reach the middle ground. We just speak openly toeach other, I guess, and we each understand that we have ourdifferences but we also have our similarities.
An example of ourdifferences is that ISTJs use dominant Si, so theyāre more past anddirect detail oriented, typically. INFJs use dominant Ni, so weārea little spacey and indirect, and we like to connect a lot of dots.So I think we have to have an understanding thereāISTJ talks a lotabout things that happened in the past and how they relate to hernow. Thatās her automatic mode of functioning. I usually stifle myfeelings from the past and am constantly looking toward the future, but that means the past can make me a little anxious as I think aboutāam I doing everything that Iām doing to get to said Future?? Isthis person going to remember That Awkward Thing I Said and is thatgoing to affect how they see me in five years when I need them tohelp me with This Thing???ā I think sometimes when you donātunderstand how the other person thinks, things like that can getfrustrating, but we understand how the other personās brain works.
Or another exampleis that ISTJ uses Fi (emphasis on internal morals and feelings, lesson group settings) whereas I use Fe (emphasis on group settings, lesson internal feelings.) We both have pretty intense feelings andopinions, as all people do regardless of functions. Sometimes, whenshe hurts my feelings because sheās talking about her own anddoesnāt consider the dynamic, or when I hurt her feelings becauseIām considering the dynamic and not specifically her own, we haveto step back and talk about it. The thing is we recognize that itisnāt intentional, and we have communication open in our friendshipto discuss those things. We understand, and respect, that we thinkdifferently.
Itās a littledifficult to answer a question like āhow can I understand[someone]?ā because thatās so open ended, and everyone is soindividual. Thereās way more to a person than just their MBTI type, though their MBTI type is helpful in analyzing how they processthings and communicate. If you have more specific questions, pleasesend them in! And if anyone else has anything to add or send in forthis anon, please do! <3
Thank you for askingus! Hopefully I was at least a little helpful lol!

ISTJ and INFJ are out eating dinner.
ISTJ: Are you about ready to leave?
INFJ: Yeah, probably. I'm in charge of ordering a pizza when I get home. Looks like I'll be having two dinners but that's probably a good thing since I didn't eat any real food today.
ISTJ: Yes, I eat three square meals a day...they just all happen after 6pm.
INFJ: EXACTLY!
INFJ: It's my job to order pizza when I get home.
INFJ: So I'm going to order from [chain redacted] because they have online ordering.
INFJ: Can you tell I'm an introvert?
ISTJ: LOL
(45 minutes later)
INTJ, The Brother: Can you order from [chain 2 redacted]?
INFJ: .... ok
INFJ: *calls*
INFJ: Okay, I ordered.
INTJ: From where?
INFJ: [chain 2.] I was going to pick [chain 1] because they have online ordering.
INTJ: ... So does [chain 2.]
INFJ: .... No they don't.
INTJ: Yeah, they do.
INFJ:
INFJ: *looks on the website*
INFJ:
INFJ: YOU MEAN TO TELL ME
INFJ: I MADE AN UNNECESSARY PHONE CALL!?!?!?

INFJ gets home from school for Christmas, basically the first time she's been home since June. INFJ starts talking with her INTJ brother and they trade their stories.
INFJ: Did I tell you why ENTP and I broke up?
INTJ: No.
INFJ: (tells him the story)
INTJ: Where does he go to school again?
INTJ: What town is that in?
INTJ: Do you still have his address?
INFJ: *squints* Maybe??
INTJ: Check and see.
INTJ: I'm gonna send him Jehovah's Witnesses.
I think my biggest struggle as an INFJ in college is that while Iām making many amazing friends and steadily growing closer with a handful, I have no best friends here yet.
Who am I going to have my 3 AM talks about aliens with?? Who can I just flop onto and friend-cuddle with?? Who can I trust to tell me if thereās lipstick on my teeth, one of my shoes is untied, or my hair is messed up????
NO ONE (yet)
