Welcome back to a whole new season of goofs, jokes, and funny quotes from your favorite pair of nerds. I know INFJ already said hi again to you all, but I wanted to drop in my own salutation and wish everyone a happy August! It’s almost back-to-school season aka my favorite season and we are thriving.

It broke my heart to be away from you lovelies for such a long time, but life happens and people change. Sometimes they grow apart and sometimes they grow back together, too.

Although unlike INFJ I haven’t really discovered anything life changing since we last spoke, I have started college and that is a change in and of itself. I know that I shared a lot of my insecurities with you all in the past (#oops) so please know… they’re all still there. However, I finally started seeing a therapist-in addition to a lot of other positive changes- and self improvement is the name of the game.

So hello again my dears, drop a line, send us your thoughts, pander us with your ponderings… welcome back to the party. We’re only just getting started.

It’s been a long time. ISTJ and I have both had pretty tumultuous lives the past few years and got out of touch with each other, but we are back and stronger than ever.

Reading through this blog has given me so much joy because even though it’s only been 2 or 3 years, I feel like a completely different person. I also discovered I’m a 1w2 and not a 3. And a Hufflepuff, not a Slytherin.

I love being an ISTJ, I really do. I love being analytical and doing lists and schedules. I love signing up for/doing as much as I can. However, I have a problem of overwhelming myself or getting overwhelmed easily when I have a lot going on. Where I am in my life right now, there is always a bit of uncertainty and a lot going on.

Hello, all! Happy New Year! INFJ and I both wish all of you the best possible year. We were discussing our new year’s resolutions and decided to share them here. Feel free to comment/reblog with your resolution if you have one!

INFJ: My new year’s resolution is for this year to be about me. That sounds so simple but like I mean everything: stop giving fifth chances, don’t take on too much, don’t let myself off easy either, LEARN TO FLYYYYY XD

Hi there! Sorry ittook so long to respond to you – we’ve both been buried underschool and work and family obligations.

I think that whathelps me to communicate with the ISTJ is to understand ourdifferences, more or less. She’s much more straight forward anddirect than I am, and much more detail-oriented. I’m a little more…flappy and roundabout. This doesn’t necessarily go for all ISTJs orall INFJs, but I think it’s an important understanding between usthat helps us to reach the middle ground. We just speak openly toeach other, I guess, and we each understand that we have ourdifferences but we also have our similarities.

An example of ourdifferences is that ISTJs use dominant Si, so they’re more past anddirect detail oriented, typically. INFJs use dominant Ni, so we’rea little spacey and indirect, and we like to connect a lot of dots.So I think we have to have an understanding there—ISTJ talks a lotabout things that happened in the past and how they relate to hernow. That’s her automatic mode of functioning. I usually stifle myfeelings from the past and am constantly looking toward the future,but that means the past can make me a little anxious as I think about“am I doing everything that I’m doing to get to said Future?? Isthis person going to remember That Awkward Thing I Said and is thatgoing to affect how they see me in five years when I need them tohelp me with This Thing???” I think sometimes when you don’tunderstand how the other person thinks, things like that can getfrustrating, but we understand how the other person’s brain works.

Or another exampleis that ISTJ uses Fi (emphasis on internal morals and feelings, lesson group settings) whereas I use Fe (emphasis on group settings, lesson internal feelings.) We both have pretty intense feelings andopinions, as all people do regardless of functions. Sometimes, whenshe hurts my feelings because she’s talking about her own anddoesn’t consider the dynamic, or when I hurt her feelings becauseI’m considering the dynamic and not specifically her own, we haveto step back and talk about it. The thing is we recognize that itisn’t intentional, and we have communication open in our friendshipto discuss those things. We understand, and respect, that we thinkdifferently.

It’s a littledifficult to answer a question like “how can I understand[someone]?” because that’s so open ended, and everyone is soindividual. There’s way more to a person than just their MBTI type,though their MBTI type is helpful in analyzing how they processthings and communicate. If you have more specific questions, pleasesend them in! INFJ: Yeah, probably. I'm in charge of ordering a pizza when I get home. Looks like I'll be having two dinners but that's probably a good thing since I didn't eat any real food today.

ISTJ: Yes, I eat three square meals a day...they just all happen after 6pm.

INFJ: So I'm going to order from [chain redacted] because they have online ordering.

INFJ: Can you tell I'm an introvert?

(45 minutes later)

INTJ, The Brother: Can you order from [chain 2 redacted]?

INFJ: .... ok

INFJ: *calls*

INFJ: Okay, I ordered.

INTJ: From where?

INFJ: [chain 2.] I was going to pick [chain 1] because they have online ordering.

INTJ: ... So does [chain 2.]

INFJ: .... No they don't.

INTJ: Yeah, they do.

INFJ: Did I tell you why ENTP and I broke up?

INTJ: No.

INFJ: (tells him the story)

INTJ: Where does he go to school again?

INTJ: What town is that in?

INTJ: Do you still have his address?

INFJ: *squints* Maybe??

Who am I going to have my 3 AM talks about aliens with?? Who can I just flop onto and friend-cuddle with?? Who can I trust to tell me if there’s lipstick on my teeth, one of my shoes is untied, or my hair is messed up????
