Today, on the anniversary of the post "@taylorswift will you be my #Galentine?" and the publication of the most iconic couple photoshoot for Vogue (February 13, 2015), Tay posted two videos with behind-the-scenes footage of Opalite and said:

"In our metaphor, inanimate objects represent the kind of toxic relationship they're in. I THINK I'm best friends with this rock who is always weighing me down[...] Domhnall, HE'S in a toxic relationship with a cactus where he's getting hurt every day."

Now let's introduce the main characters of this story:

Domhnall as Karlie.

I have other GIFs of Kar kicking that are better than this one, but I haven't been able to find any of them. 🤦🏻‍♀️ If anyone has any of those, feel free to include them here.

Taylor as herself.

The Cactus is Josh Kushner.

For those who don't know, this is the first Joshlie' photo posted on social media where you can see them together.

The Rock is Trash Kelce.

As you can see, Trash is the only beard whose story is tied to a friendship bracelet. Not to mention that, throughout the video, Taylor and her Pet Rock (PR), as someone brilliantly pointed out on Reddit, do several activities that Tayvis has been doing in their stunts and showcasing during his journey with a beard. The scene of them going out for drinks, the karaoke (both performing on a stage, just like in the stunt from The Eras Tour), working out together, diverting the focus from Taylor's family in the park scene.

In October, Taylor spoke on a radio show about the meaning of this song. "Opalite is a song about forgiving yourself for going through something that didn't work out the way you wanted." And instead of seeing it as a major setback, you try to learn from it, take a lesson from it, and grow in the best way possible so that it benefits you and the people around you. (that's pretty much motherly advice 😉)

Taylor shows exactly that in this music video. Initially, she shows herself and Kar living through two toxic relationships (Taylor's words), until they both find a "marketable solution" to be able to meet, relate, and live happily together as a couple: the Opalite spray. Like the opalite stone, it's something manufactured by humans. I believe the Opalite Spray represents the PR tool the girls found to protect their relationship. As Taylor described on the radio show, Opalite (PR) is the solution she found to overcome the adversities that arose throughout Kaylor's relationship – not being able to be together as a couple in the eyes of the world for several years – and what helped them and their family get to where they are today.

It's curious how both relationships are portrayed. Joshlie as the couple "sharing" a bed (a "married" couple), the dark and somewhat gloomy Cactus side, while Domhnall's side is bright. A couple who frequent fancy restaurants and private parties full of friends/acquaintances. While Tayvis is basically portrayed as a couple who spend most of their time in front of the TV and partying. That's exactly the narrative sold by Tayvis, a couple who spend most of their time at home and like to party.

Another thing that caught my attention in the girls' rooms is that Taylor's room seems to be, and she too, the room of a single teenage girl. The place is all messy, with her clothes scattered around, full of posters of her idol, and only her things. Karlie's room, on the other hand, is a double room. With two bedside tables occupied. But what stood out most in this scene was the calendar, illegible, but prominently displayed on the wall above the bed. It's basically on the side of the room that belongs to the cactus. Almost as if it were an object there for the cactus's use.

Something that caught my attention in the scene where Tay is getting ready in the room to go to karaoke is that she's wearing several gold accessories, including a butterfly ring. It reminded me of the VS ring. 😉

But what caught my attention the most was the fact that she puts that slime similar to the purple slime from Antihero on her shoulder, in an 🟰 sign, and does the same on Pet Rock/Trash. Tay is marking them both as equals. 👀

Oh! Tay's also wearing a shell bracelet, just like the "exile ends" watch from Bejeweled.

Opalite is one of the most Kaylor-esque music videos of all time. This music video has so many layers and screams "KAYLOR!!!" everywhere that OH MY GODDESS! 🙈 (x)

Taylor continues to be the devoted and passionate woman for Karlie Kloss. It's beautiful to see a love like this. 😊💕

S/n: Oh!!! One of the funniest things about this music video for me is the fact that Taylor basically says that Kaylor makes jokes and has fun at Trash's expense. Do you remember the photoshoot he did for a magazine last year?! Well, I had the displeasure of seeing some of those photos around, and I'm sure one of them is almost an identical pose to this image.👇🏼 Trash opened a sleeveless jacket and showed his chest. 🤣

I haven't looked to see if there are other poses of Domhnall and Taylor that are the same as those in the Trash photoshoot. If you're going to look for that, please keep that abomination to yourself.
