there's a lot that can be said about digital tech security culture but a big one is that you should never ever ever plan a direct action over text (even on encrypted messaging apps like signal). when you are organizing offline no-tech meetings to discuss the direct action on an encrypted messaging app like signal you should communicate in code.

plan "a picnic in the woods" not "a meeting to discuss x" (even if x is a codeword like "the dinner party" - we've seen these codewords fail to provide adequate protection in court)

even if just one person gets arrested and these chats are leaked it creates a network of who was involved. a picnic club is harder (not impossible) to prosecute.

remember- never put anything in writing that you don't want read back to you in court.

Was talking to a coworker today who explained that her grandfather was like Snow White “but Californian. And an old man.” in that the creatures of the forest would follow him around and presumably duet with him.
